"You
feel heavenly," he growled.
"Fuck
me hard, Marcus. Make me yours."
"You're
mine.
All of you.
Every inch belongs to me and only to
me."
"Yes,
Sir."
Epilogue
"No.
The dresser needs to go in the other bedroom, Jonathan." Elizabeth said,
supervising the move of her things to Marcus' house. “Just because you’re my
brother doesn’t mean you get out of work.”
"I
love when you're bossy," Marcus said from his spot near the doorway.
"Yeah
right, Mister. We know who
is the boss in this house
."
"Yeah,
me," he replied, stopping in front of her. The kiss he laid on her lips
quickly turned into a bone-melting duel of tongues.
"All
right you two. Save it for when the guests go home," Cade said, balancing
one end of the dresser Jonathan held. "Spare room?"
"Yes.
I'm using half of Marcus' dresser so my things will go in the other
bedroom."
"I'm
going to go start the barbeque so we can feed this hungry bunch and get them
some alcohol for their help."
"Okay.
I'm going to help Natalie put away the kitchen items I bought and those I brought
with me. Plus we have to get the salads out of the refrigerator."
"Alcohol?"
Jonathan piped in as he and Cade made their way back toward the living room.
"Beer
is in the trashcan with the ice. Wine coolers and other mixers are in the
cooler." She turned toward the kitchen. "Cade? Can you bring me and
Natalie a wine cooler, please?"
"None
for
me,
thanks," Natalie said, winking at Cade.
"Water,
babe?" he asked.
"Great.
I'd appreciate it."
"What's
with you and water lately? You aren't drinking? I bought all of this alcohol and
I'm going to have to drink every bit with Caroline?"
"What's
wrong with me drinking," Caroline asked.
"Nothing,
sis."
"I
can't drink for the next several months."
"You're
pregnant?" Elizabeth asked, pulling her into a hug.
"Yep.
Baby number three is on the way and will be here by spring."
"Cool!
Congratulations." Elizabeth hugged her again as Cade handed two wine
coolers over, and gave Natalie a bottle of water.
"Unfortunately,
my sister the doctor hasn't finished her residency in time to follow me."
"I
can do your minor check-ups if you want. I'm doing a prenatal rotation for the
next several months at the hospital anyway."
"Great!"
"How
is the residency going anyway? I haven't seen you much." Natalie mixed the
ingredients for the potato salad while she talked.
"Neither
has Marcus," she said, folding her arms over her chest. "The only way
we'll see each other is on my off days and if I live here. I think it's the
only reason he asked me to move in. He doesn't like not getting sex on a
regular basis."
"I
doubt that's all it is. He loves you."
"I
know. I love him too, but it was getting really hard to see him working five
days a week. Tired doesn't begin to tell you how I feel on my days off."
Marcus
poked his head through the crack of the sliding glass door. "Are you
ladies joining us? The burgers are almost done."
"Sure.
We'll be right out."
The
three ladies walked outside only to be surrounded by the others at the party.
Marcus had invited Kale, Laurel, Emma, Brandon, Beau, Delaney, Jake, Colby, and
everyone else in both the Dunn and Weston clans. The huge group laughed and
hugged as news of Natalie's pregnancy made its way around the party. Several
minutes later Marcus announced the food was ready and everyone grabbed a plate.
Tables of other condiments, pickles, desserts and salads lined the walkway.
Everyone piled their plates high and then settled down to eat.
Marcus
leaned over and kissed her on the lips.
"Yum, potato
salad."
"You're
so bad."
"You
love it."
"How
is your shoulder?"
"Good
as new." She gave him her best 'I don't believe you' look and he laughed.
"All right, Doctor, it's still sore, but I don't need the sling anymore. I
just try not to move my shoulder around too much."
"Good."
Gram
beamed from her spot next to the pool, her own sexy pool-boy at her feet in the
form of Mr. Johansson from in town. They'd been seeing each other regularly
these days and it made Elizabeth happy to know Natalie's grandmother might find
someone to spend time with since her husband passed away.
"Get
the smirk off your lips, Elizabeth. I'll have no matchmaking around me anytime
soon."
"You
didn't get a chance to be in on my little
lovefest
like you have with my siblings and a few of the Dunn clan."
"Who
do you think told Marcus to send you those flowers the other day?"
Elizabeth
shook her head and laughed. A quick kiss to Mrs. Oliver's cheek and she was off
to locate the love of her life.
After
everyone had finished eating, Marcus took her plate and set it on the floor. He
slid from the chair to kneel at her feet.
"You
know I love you."
"Yes.
I love you too."
"I
wanted to do this with our friends and family here. I know you still have a
long way to go in your residency, but we can work together to make our lives
the happiest we can. You've made the first step in that come true with moving
in here. Now, it's time to take the second step. Elizabeth, will you do me the
honor of becoming my wife?"
"What?"
"Didn't
I make myself clear?" he asked, laughing. "I want you to marry
me."
"Seriously?"
"Damn
women. I didn't think the words were that mumbled." He grabbed her hand and
kissed her fingers before he produced a beautiful square cut diamond solitaire.
"Marry me, Elizabeth."
"Yes!"
she screamed, throwing herself into his arms.
