Oh, fucking hell
. I put my arms underneath her shoulders and dig my fingers into the soft flesh beside her neck. I pull her down hard and drive into her until the tingles travel up from the bottom of my dick and I come, releasing every ounce of me inside her. She kisses my ear and my temple as I let my head fall beside hers.

"Untie me Jack, while I'm this crazy," she mutters. I reach up, crazy in my own right, and free her arms. She wraps them around me and I'm still inside her between her tied legs. She kisses me like she's dying and I can save her.

"Let me get your legs," I manage. She falls back on the bed and twists her own nipples.

I pull out of her and she cries out. I untie her legs as fast as I can.

"Turn over," I tell her.

"Get the whip," she says, rolling over onto her stomach. I reach for it on the bed. "Spank me with it, Jack."

I raise the crop a little and bring it down with a snap. She bucks and I can see the red mark on her ass.

"Put your dick in my ass
now
," she moans. I run it up and down her asshole, stretching her a little.

"I don't have any lube," I say. She reaches down and fingers her pussy and rubs it over her own asshole. My cock is the hardest it's ever been in my life.

"Now it's wet," she says, looking at me over her shoulder.

I slide the head halfway in, waiting for her to protest. "Deeper," she says.

I push the head all the way in and the feeling is insane. "Fuck," I whisper. She rocks against me a little and my dick slips in further.

I fuck her ass gently, but she starts backing against me harder and harder. I watch as she slides her finger down and into her pussy. I'm gonna come and it's gonna be quick.

"I'm coming, Jack," she squeals. "Fuck my ass hard!" She rocks against me, taking all of me in her ass and I explode again. She pushes herself one more time and then yells my name.

I lean over her, the pulsing in my dick is almost painful. I'm inside her ass still and she's still working her finger in her pussy.

"I cannot move," I say as I push her hair off her back and press my hot face against her skin. She arches her back and then pulls her fingers from herself.

"Give me a minute and I'll pull out," I promise her.

Carly falls forward a little on the bed and I start to slip from her. I wince as I slowly slide completely out of her ass.

She pulls her legs up and turns over on her back. Her face is flushed and her eyes are heavy. I hop off the bed and almost fall into the nightstand.

"Are you okay?" she asks, gasping.

"Are
you
okay?" I ask, steadying myself.

"I've never been more okay," she says, exhaling loudly. "My ass hurts, though." She grins at me and her eyes are heavy lidded.

"I'll bet it does," I say. "Hang on just a second and I'll be right back." I manage to walk to the bathroom and clean myself off before coming back to her. She's almost asleep as I let myself flop onto the bed.

"I've never done that before," she mutters into the pillow. She pulls her hair back and tucks it underneath her shoulder.

"Did you like it?" I ask.

She grins sheepishly. "Is it bad if I say yes?"

"No, it's not bad," I say, leaning out to kiss her shoulder.

"I never thought I'd like it up the ass," she says, maybe more to herself than me.

"You have the perfect ass for it," I tell her. She nuzzles into my neck and runs her fingers through the hair on my chest. She traces down my scars.

"Thank you, Jack," she says, turning those crazy eyes up at me.

"For what? For fucking your ass?" I grin at her.

"No, for giving me a perfect day and a perfect night. And for taking a chance on us. And for trusting yourself and trusting me." She puts her hand on my chin and kisses me. "I'll never hurt you and I'll never leave you. Not unless you want me to."

"That's not going to
ever
happen. Trust me on that."

Carly sighs a little and then loops her fingers in mine. "It's so funny, isn't it?"

"Hmm," I ask, fighting off sleep.

"It's funny how right for each other we are, how we fit together. Even our fingers seem to be made to go together." She moves our hands back and forth and looks at them.

"Yeah, it is," I mutter, almost asleep even when I try to wake up and listen. I feel Carly's lips on my neck and on my mouth as I finally stop fighting the urge.

"I’ll love you forever, Robert Webster," she whispers. It's the last thing I hear before dropping off into sleep.

The leaves crunch under our feet as we walk the winding path around the farm. Carly holds my hand and I twist my fingers in hers.

This place is amazing,” she says, breathing in the autumn air.

I come here every fall. There’s no place quite like it.”

It certainly is something,” she says. I watch a squirrel hop through the branches of a tall tree. The entire farm is quiet where we are, except for the rustle of wind through the mostly bare trees.

I pull her closer and loop my arm around her neck. “I’m so glad you were able to get off work to come with me.”

Me, too,” she says. “This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.”

You should always be treated to nice things, Carly.
Always.

She kicks a couple of acorns across the path and I watch them disappear into the tree line.

Guess what’s around the corner,” I say as she puts one arm around my waist.

What?” she asks, turning her attention to the road around the curve ahead.

Your surprise.”

She pulls her arm free and grabs me by the hand. “Well, come on!” she shouts, and pulls me forward. I let her lead me around the curve of trees, into the valley and to the hot air balloon that waits there.

Gah!” she calls out, dropping my hand and jogging toward the bright blue balloon that takes up most of the space like a neon light bulb. Two figures, dwarfed by the size of the balloon, make trips around it and check the gear.

She finally turns to me in shock. “We’re going up in that?” she squeals. She puts her hand to her eyes and squints against the pale gray sky. “Oh shit!”

Carly takes my hand and pulls me faster toward the balloon.

Hullo, Mr. Webster,” the older of the two men greets us. “I’m Jim. I’ll be your operator today.” I shake his hand firmly. He has a thick, neatly groomed beard that’s peppered with gray hair and an even thicker Southern drawl.

Jim sticks his hand toward Carly and she takes it, shaking it quickly with nervous excitement. It makes me grin.

This is Brandon. He’ll be helping us get in the sky.” The red haired man nods and keeps tugging at the thick ropes that hold the balloon to the ground.

Jim puts a small stool on the ground in front of the wicker basket and reaches his hand out for Carly to take. For a second, she hesitates, eyeing the seemingly insufficient basket and thin fabric of the balloon before stepping over the braided bottom lip of the basket. I follow behind her, the basket wobbling a little more as Jim steps in after.

She stares up into the cavity of the balloon; its bright blue color tinting our skin an alien shade of green.

Jim closes the gate and throws a latch while Brandon makes a circle around the basket, the ropes coming free one by one. I brace myself and Carly for a lurch or a series of jerks, but we just start floating up. She wraps her arms around my waist as the ground inches further and further away from us. A piece of her hair blows across my chest and I can smell her shampoo.

The balloon soars high over the mountains as a low mist rolls to the ground, twisting between the trees. I rest my chin on top of her head and we look out onto the forest.

The grayness of the morning begins to fade and the sky takes on a shade of blue that mimics our balloon. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her ear. As we fly over the mountains, the only sound that interrupts the thick silence is the occasional chatter of Jim’s communication radio and the whooshing sound made by the device that makes us fly. The peaks of the mountains rise up and seem to stretch out forever. Carly presses her face to my chest and whispers, “I’m so happy I’ve got you.” I squeeze her and lean close, “Not as happy as I am to have you,” I tell her.

Chapter
10

The cabin greets us with much needed warmth when we get back from walking around the property after the balloon ride. Carly's wearing a grin a mile wide and I find myself returning it.

"I'm still so exhilarated," she says as she falls into a chair to take her boots off. "Thank you, Jack." She beams up at me.

"I'm just glad you had a good time, even if you did scream like a baby when that flock of geese came too close to the balloon," I tease.

"I couldn't help it," she admits, "that scared me!"

I kick off my own boots and go to kneel at her knees. She leans forward and pushes my hair to the side to kiss my forehead. I grab her by the hips and pull her toward me, burying my face in her chest.

"There's no way I can ever repay you for this," she says, resting her head on my shoulder.

"You don't have to repay me, Carly," I say, pulling out of her arms to look at her. "Why do you always feel that you owe me something?"

"I'm just that way," she says. "Most of my life, most
people
in my life, have always wanted something in return for whatever they offered me. I don't want to owe anyone anything."

Her eyes get weighed down again, reflective and sad.

"The only thing I ask for is you. I want you to be happy and that's enough to keep me happy."

"Jack," she says in a low voice.

"Yes?" I ask, kissing each fingertip on her hands.

"I love you so much already. Please don't ever make me sorry for it."

I look into her eyes and I see tears threatening to spill over her thick bottom lashes.

"I'll always try my hardest, Carly. You know I will."

She brings me to my knees with those eyes and keeps me there with her words. I want to be needed by her and I know I need her in return. Why does she do this to me? Why does she touch something in me that no one else was ever able to? All I want is for her to belong to me and to belong to her.

"I just...I can't go back to living the way I was. I can't be so
empty
inside. I never want to be anyone else's good time. I can't have that kind of life again, waiting for someone to show up and make me feel like a whore."

This emotionally charged conversation is out of character for her, but I think I know why.

"You heard from Nick, didn't you?"

Carly goes silent and looks away from me. "He texted me this morning."
