“You got to feed her with a long handle spoon.” Nina suggested.

“I know, but how do I do that? It’s gonna be hard just working with her, because every time I look in her face I’ma think about how she’s despised me all this time and have always wanted to keep me
beneath
her. I’ve never hated on her or wished anything bad on her. I was a true friend to that bitch, and all along she was giving me her ass to kiss.” Scarlett was hurt and it showed in the way she looked in Nina’s eyes, wanting to cry.

“I’m sorry, Red. I always hoped that the bitch was on the up and up, and that I was overreacting because I didn’t want y’all to be friends, but I was right about her all along.” Nina shook her head. “I bet she hates how pretty you are with your hair done and shit. I mean, look at you. You look amazing and I bet she can’t stand it. It’s eating the bitch up as we speak.”

“She has been saying slick shit about my new look, but I just figured it was gonna take some time for her to get used to me looking this way.”

“Why should it take a real friend time to get used to her home girl looking good? Hell, she should be happy for you and boosting your confidence some more, by saying nice things about the way you look.”

“I know right.” Scarlett agreed.

“That bitch is a natural born hater. Who would’ve ever guessed it?” Nina said. “Have you told Jay about her trifling ass yet?”

“No, and I don’t think I will. Not right now, anyway. He called me last night, but I was so outdone I didn’t know what to say about it. I didn’t even know how to mention it. I was glad he was tired and wanted to get some rest and I told him I needed to do the same thing. We ended the call and that was it. He did text message me this morning and told me to take care of Anton and he’ll see me later.”

“Did you tell him that Anton was sick too?”

“Nope, but I’m certain Sheila did because she was the only one I told that lie to. I figured he must’ve asked about me or something.”

“Or maybe she just volunteered your business. No telling what all she says about you.”

“You have a point, Nina. It’s no telling.”

__________

Anton lay across his bed, feeling a bit saddened by the events that had gone down. His thoughts were all over the place concerning the women in his life. Samantha was his girl, and he never thought she’d make him feel the way he did about her. She was everything he wanted in a girlfriend and he couldn’t ask for much more. He liked Miley because she was a down chick, but didn’t see a future with her other than having relations. He needed more, and felt that Samantha was the one who could give it to him.

Gwen was heavily glued to his mind as well. There was no telling where she stayed at through the night or what she was doing that morning. He constantly worried about her well-being and was scared he’d get a call telling him that somebody had found her dead somewhere from an overdose.

He sighed and turned over onto his back, looking up at the ceiling fan. It reminded him of the whirlwind that was his life, as it went round and round. The only difference was that the air that blew his way was mostly hot, and when it was cold, there was no off or on switch to stop it from freezing him. It was like a non-stop spin cycle of good times and bad times.

His phone rang as he laid there. He looked at the caller ID and it was Samantha. He was surprised she was even calling him after the way he had disrespected her the day before. He quickly answered his phone before she hung up.

“Yeah,” he answered, calmly.

“Well, hey to you too. I think we need to talk.”

Anton sat up on the side of his bed. “I didn’t think you’d want to talk to me anymore.”

“Well I do, so is it safe if I come in your house?”

“Huh, where are you?”

“I’m in your driveway.”

“Sure, I’ll open the door for you.” Anton was hopeful. Samantha had missed another day of school and wanted to talk to him. He walked to the door and opened it. She was already standing there waiting on him.

“Good morning,” she greeted him.

“Hey,” he said. He didn’t really know what to say to her. She had literally caught him with his pants down or rather no pants at all, and he was feeling a little embarrassed by it. “Come in and have a seat.”

Samantha followed him to the couch and sat down beside him. He picked up the remote control for the twenty-seven inch TV and turned it on.
Good Times
was playing, and boy was he wishing for some good times right about now.

Samantha looked over at him and he could tell she’d been crying from the red circles around her eyes. She looked sad, and he hated that he had hurt her feelings.

“Hey, babe, I just want to apologize about yesterday. I know I was wrong, and I can’t really tell you what got into me. Miley and I had been messing around way before you came into the picture, and honestly, I cut her off about three weeks ago. Out the blue, she called me yesterday morning and wanted to come over. I can’t lie, I did think about you, but I was thinking about sex too and she was easy access.” He couldn’t believe he had come clean, just like that, but he did and he wasn’t lying about any of it.

“I know,” Samantha responded.

Anton looked confused. “What do you mean?”

“She told me the same thing you just said.”

“She did?”

“Yeah, I have all the girls’ numbers on my squad saved in my phone, just in case I ever wanted to play hooky from practice. So, I called her and asked her what was up with y’all. She kept it real and explained how it all went down. She even told me that she really liked you, but for some reason, you’d been dodging her calls lately, so I just assumed it was because of me.”

“Yeah, honestly it was because of you.”

Samantha smiled. “I’m falling for you, Anton, and I don’t want you to feel like you got to go to another female to satisfy your needs. I can do that for you.”

Anton was caught off guard, but he liked what he was hearing. “So what are you saying?”

“I’m saying that I want you to be my first.” Anton was taken aback. He paused because he didn’t realize that she was still a virgin, not by the way she tongue kissed him every chance she got. But it would explain how she would tense up every time they kissed to the point of him rubbing her breasts, and then having to stop, because she felt they should wait a little longer.

“Are you sure you want me to be your first? That’s a big decision you’re making,” he explained.

“I know, and I’m positive that I want you.” She grabbed him by the hand and led the way to his bedroom. He was shocked that this was about to go down so soon. He sat on his bed and watched her undress down to her black lace bra and panties. She was sexy as hell, and Anton was turned on like a motherfucker.

Samantha sat down beside him and they began to kiss passionately. When he touched her breasts, she didn’t flinch or try to stop him this time, but somehow, he managed to stop himself.

“Are you absolutely sure you wanna do this?”

“Yes,” she breathed heavily. “Please don’t stop.”

Anton took his clothes off while Samantha got under the covers. He got in the bed and under the covers beside her. She started kissing him again, as if she was telling him that she was ready. Anton was no rookie to fucking, because he’d been sleeping with women, mostly older than him, since he was eleven.

He eased her panties off while they were kissing and rubbed between her warm, thick thighs. He gently rubbed the fine hairs on her coochie and made his way down to her g-spot. It was moist as he massaged her clit. She loved it and kept begging for more. He slid his finger down between her moist lips and slipped one inside her pussy. She jumped a little, but then relaxed as he slowly inserted his finger in and out of her. She was tight, but not as tight as he thought she’d be, but maybe it was because she was so wet and ready.

He got on top of her and rubbed around her inviting hole with his dick head. He massaged up and down it until her body spoke.
Go for it.
He eased his dick inside her, taking one pump at a time as she held his back tight. Her body was glued to his, and he tried to go deeper every chance he could get. Finally, it gave way and he began to stroke her wet walls. The feeling was amazing and she loved every minute of it. She didn’t want him to stop, but four nuts and five hours later, he was done.

__________

Scarlett had just gotten out of the shower and walked into her bedroom. Jay was sitting on the bed waiting for her. She looked at him and smiled. She couldn’t believe it was only six thirty and he was already over to her house. Things were definitely looking up for her.

“You know you could’ve joined me, right?”

“I know, but I didn’t want to start something that I couldn’t finish.”

She frowned a little. “Then why’d you stop by so early?”

“Because I wanted to see you before I left.”

Scarlett started laughing. “And where might you be going?” she asked, tearing the tag off one of the silk nightgowns that was given to her by Joan. She put it on.

He smiled. “That looks nice on you.”

“Thanks,” she said, sitting down beside him.

“I can’t believe how clean this room is. You’re really making a change in your life, huh?”

“Yeah, I’m trying.”

“Well, I’d like to meet this Joan and shake her hand, because whatever kind of talk she had with you and whatever she has given you is really working. You’ve had this glow about you ever since she did your hair.”

Scarlett frowned inside, but put on a fake smile. “How do you know about Joan?” she asked, but immediately thought about Sheila’s big mouth.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Sheila was telling me how nice the clothes were that Joan gave you and how you trusted her to do your hair. She was all proud of you for stepping outside of your comfort zone to find yourself.”

Jay seemed caught up in Sheila’s bullshit show of concern, as if she really cared about her. Scarlett felt a little embarrassed that Jay knew where she’d gotten her designer clothes from, but she decided not to let Sheila’s insecurities get to her.

“Yeah, I did step outside of my comfort zone and trusted a woman who had my best interest at heart. I don’t know what all Sheila told you, but she never considered doing anything nice for me like Joan did. You were right, I’d been caught up in my past and didn’t know how to let go, but I woke up one morning and felt the need to put it behind me. I started by allowing Joan to do my hair. She worked a miracle, I ain’t gonna lie, and I appreciate that. She told me to love myself first before I could love others and she was right. I’d been neglecting myself for years, because I didn’t know how to love myself. I never knew what love was, because I never felt loved by anyone except for Nina and Anton, and I’m just now learning his way of showing me how he loves.

“Yes, she gave me boxes of clothes that she was going to give to her nieces, but the Lord saw fit for me to get those things instead. I can’t lie, I was a little embarrassed that you found that out from Sheila, but I can honestly say that I would have eventually told you myself, anyway.”

Jay smiled and kissed Scarlett on her lips. He was impressed by her new attitude.

“Regardless of how my hair looks or what designer clothes I’m wearing, I’m still me on the inside, and I’m not pretending to be something or someone that I’m not. I just want better for myself, and if I have to get it by doing right by people or by taking clothes from people with good intensions, then so be it. I’m not too proud to do so.”

“You’re definitely a changed woman,” Jay said. “Without you even saying all that, your room said it all,” he laughed.

“Shut-up,” she laughed along with him. “Now tell me why you are here so early, if you don’t wanna do the nasty.” She smiled. “Oh, I see. Does Jason Lewis Jr. wanna take me out on a date?” she laughed.

“Nah,” he said.

“What?” She frowned.

“I didn’t mean
no
like that. I meant no, I can’t take you out tonight, because I’m going to Clarks Hill to spend the weekend with Sheila.”

“Tell me you’re kidding, right.”

“I wish I was, but she got off work and went ahead and got the cabin. She is waiting on me to come now.”

Scarlett was stunned that Sheila would be in such a hurry to get laid. It was as if she was trying to fuck Jay because she was threatened that he might be noticing her.

“You don’t have to go.”

“I know I don’t, but I don’t want to stand her up.” Scarlett knew that Jay was just a cut buddy from the start, and even though they had an amazing night together, she shouldn’t confuse things.

“You’re right. You shouldn’t stand her up. I wouldn’t want you to. Now get on up and leave before I hold you hostage.” She put on her fake smile and tried to laugh a little.

“I’m sorry, babe. Can I get a kiss before I leave?”

“Nah,” she said. “I think it’s best if you just leave.”

Jay saw the hurt in her eyes. He wanted to stay, but he had Sheila waiting for him at the cabin. What was he to do? He knew Scarlett was just a fuck buddy that he’d grown to like a lot, but at the same time, he wanted to explore his options with Sheila.

He stood at Scarlett’s bedroom door. “Aren’t you gonna walk me out?”

She looked at him and smiled. “Jay, just go. I’ll see you when you get back.”

He stood there thinking of what to say next. He knew her feelings were hurt, but he couldn’t turn back now.

“Alright,” he said, walking out the door and exiting her house.
I’ll make it up to her when I come back.

Scarlett sat on the edge of her bed. She wanted to think that the wonderful thrill she and Jay shared really meant something to him.
Maybe it didn’t,
she thought. She didn’t want to believe that no man would ever love her, but deep in her heart, she couldn’t help but feel it.

Chapter Twelve

Scarlett unlocked the office doors at The Grand’s Auto and Towing Shop. She was there a whole hour early. Her weekend was over and she was ready to bury herself in her work. She knew she had to maintain her new lifestyle by working hard, and she was determined to make it, regardless of what Gwen had instilled in her over the years.
