Her musings reminded her of the night she and Andras had dinner outside, when he tried to get her to tell him what she wanted to be. She suddenly knew the answer to his question. It had been right there in front of her all this time.

She turned toward Andras. “The day we had dinner outside you asked me what I wanted to be, if there were no obstacles. Remember?”

He smiled and nodded.

“I never saw myself as a wife and mother. All my friends did, of course, and I pretended it was what I wanted as well. I used to think something was wrong with me for not wanting marriage and motherhood.”

“So, what do you want?”

“A different life than the one I had. I wanted pretty dresses to wear, and to dance, and visit exotic places. I’m hooked on movie stars and their lives.”

“It’s not real, their lives I mean.”

“I know. I guess I wanted the fantasy of their lives in the films I watched.”

“This is the closest thing to that we can give you, Blair.” His gaze was intense, filled with what could only be called love. “Will it do?”

Leo moved so she could see his face as well. His golden eyes blazed with light, and Blair couldn’t be sure, but she thought they might have been wet as well. “Blair, I love you. We love you. Both of us. We want you to stay here with us.”

Blair held her breath. Had Leo really just said he loved her?

“It’s true,” said Andras, stroking her cheek. “I love you, too, Blair. Don’t leave us. I know it’s not the stuff movies are made of, but I promise we’ll make you happy, and protect you, and take care of you.”

She looked from one man to the other and didn’t realize she was crying until Leo gently wiped her tears. “I love you both, too,” she breathed. “I really do. I want to stay. I can’t imagine my life without you. But how can you…I don’t know…give all this up? What will happen to your powers?”

Leo grinned, and Blair’s panties flooded. “We don’t know. And unless I’m mistaken, neither one of us gives a shit. We don’t want them anymore. We just want you, Blair. I’m sorry it took me so long to tell you, love.”

“I agree,” said Andras, also grinning to beat the band. “We’re so sorry for what we did all those years ago, and we want to make amends for it. We want to live for you now, and you alone. Please say yes.”

She wiped her face as fresh tears streamed down her cheeks. The happiness was so overwhelming she didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or scream. All she knew was that she was so in love with her two beautiful angels, and she wanted to spend the rest of her life making sure they knew it.

“Yes!” she yelled, throwing herself into their arms. They held her close, kissed her hair and face, and whispered words of love and lust. Blair closed her eyes and said good-bye to the half-life she’d been living for fifteen years. The adventure of a lifetime she’d craved was just beginning.
