“Ummm, about six weeks ago…sort of.”

“Let me guess, very light and mostly just spotting?”

“Right.”  She looked at Ryker, trying to assess his reaction.  The wide, goofy smile on his face said it all.  He was thrilled and
, if she had to guess, pretty damn proud of himself.  Twins.  She fought back a shout of joy as a smile that was so big it almost obstructed her vision broke out on her face.

“We’re pregnant, baby.”  He kissed her hard.  Poor guy probably forgot she’d been throwing up for the last three days.  At least he didn’t make a face or wretch after the kiss.

“I’ll send the nurse in to disconnect your I.V. Here’s a written prescription for the drugs to prevent nausea.  Be sure to follow-up with your OB/GYN as soon as possible.  I’ve also included a prenatal vitamin on the same script.  Good luck to all of you.”  He shook both of their hands and was gone, leaving them alone to celebrate the news.

“My mother was right.  I thought I dreamt the whole thing.”

“Huh?  What are you talking about?”

She proceeded to relay the whole experience to him
, sure he wouldn’t believe her.

“Awesome, baby.  Just goes to show you she’s still looking out for you.  For all of us, really.  It makes me feel safe.  How about you?”

“Good.  It makes me feel good and…loved.”

“She didn’t happen to mention the sex of the babies, did she?”

“No.  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.”

“Fine with me.  My mother’s gonna freak.  I can’t wait to tell her.  I’m going to find the nurse so we can get the hell out of here.”  He kissed her soundly on the mouth
and nearly floated out of the room.

spoke to the room, glancing up at the ceiling.

“Thanks, Mom.  I love you too.”
