6. 
"The Ex-Girlfriend" (1.23.91).
  Despite the absence of love, George cannot end his relationship with Marlene.  After repeated efforts, he finally musters the courage to officially break up and asks Jerry to retrieve a few books from her apartment.  Jerry is enthralled with the southern belle and obtains George's permission to date Marlene.  Despite being addicted to the sex, Jerry contemplates ending the relationship; ironically, Marlene gives him the axe after watching one of his performances. 
Subplot:
Elaine is obsessed with a man in her apartment building that refuses to acknowledge her presence.  She confronts him after their relationship descends from polite chatting, to a simple "hello," and then saying nothing at all.

Note:
Tracy Kolis also appeared in "The Soup" (episode 93) as Kelly.  Kolis started acting in soap operas in 1984; after sporadic episodic appearances, she disappeared from acting in 1999.

7. 
"The Pony Remark" (1.30.91).
  Jerry single-handedly wins a softball game that earns his team a championship berth.  Meanwhile, his parents visit New York to attend Manya's 50th wedding anniversary party.  Jerry also attends the party but inadvertently insults Manya for owning a pony as a child.  She leaves the table enraged, and dies the next day.  Jerry agonizes over whether he caused her death, but is more concerned about Manya's funeral interfering with his softball game.  He reluctantly attends the funeral, but his misfortune is reversed when the contest is postponed because of rain.  Jerry is able to participate in the tournament, and this time single-handedly loses the game.

"The Jacket" (2.6.91).
  Jerry contemplates purchasing a pricey suede jacket but the price makes him uncomfortable.  After acquiring the garment, he is empowered with an inexplicable air of self-confidence.  Meanwhile, George is mentally tortured by a song from
Les Miserables
, and unwittingly accompanies Jerry to a dreadful evening with Elaine's austere father.  Although Elaine is unexpectedly detained, upon her arrival they agree to dine elsewhere.  Since it is snowing, Jerry contemplates wearing the jacket inside-out, but Elaine's father vehemently objects because the garment has a ghastly pink candy-striped lining.  The snow inevitably ruins the coat, and Kramer becomes the recipient of Jerry's discarded outerwear.

9. 
"The Phone Message" (2.13.91).
  After a pleasant date with Carol, George is invited upstairs for a cup of coffee but ingenuously declines because caffeine keeps him awake at night.  Upon realizing his erroneous interpretation of Carol's sexual metaphor, George calls for another date and leaves an embarrassing message on her answering machine.  When she fails to return the call, he leaves daily messages and becomes increasingly irate.  Since Carol was out of town, George and Jerry wait outside her apartment to finagle their way inside and switch the answering machine tape.  The plan works but she previously heard the messages and thought George's prank was hilarious. 
Subplot:
Jerry dates a woman who loves Dockers advertisements, and his contrary opinion signifies the demise of their relationship.

10. 
"The Apartment" (4.4.91).
  When a neighboring tenant dies, Jerry makes arrangements for Elaine to lease the apartment.  Altruism becomes malevolence upon realizing that Elaine's physical proximity may be too constraining on his personal life.  The problem is resolved when the landlord locates another tenant willing to pay $5,000, that is, until Kramer convinces Elaine to borrow the money from Jerry.  Kramer atones for the indiscretion by finding a tenant willing to pay $10,000; unfortunately the new lessee is a rock band that holds thunderous practice sessions above Jerry's apartment. 
Subplots:
The gang attends a brunch party to watch the New York marathon, and George performs a sociological study on whether women are attracted to men with wedding bands.

"The Statue" (4.11.91).
  Jerry unearths his grandfather's mementos and generously donates a statue to George and detective clothing to Kramer.  When the statue is stolen, Jerry suspects the new cleaning person, Ray, who has an exact replica on his mantel.  Ray vehemently denies involvement, so Kramer impersonates a police detective to interrogate the accused, and shrewdly steals the statue from Ray's apartment.  When the property is returned, George accidentally drops and shatters the relic. 
Subplot:
Elaine edits a book by acclaimed writer, Rava, who is also Ray's girlfriend.  After mentioning the improbable likelihood of Ray having the same statue that Jerry had stolen, Elaine is removed as editor.

12. 
"The Revenge" (4.18.91).
  When George receives a memo to cease using the executive washroom, he bursts into his supervisor's office, unleashes insults, and quits.  After realizing that he has no marketable skills or talents, George returns to work as if nothing happened.  The ploy fails, and he is mocked by his boss.  George vows revenge, and with Elaine's assistance, he slips a mickey into his boss' drink. 
Subplot:
Jerry accuses a Laundromat employee of stealing $1,500 from his dirty laundry, and Kramer exacts revenge by pouring cement into a washer.  After recovering the misplaced loot, Jerry reimburses the Laundromat for damage to the machine.

Note:
This is the first episode where Kramer begins using physical comedy as part of his character’s persona.  This is the first episode where Newman is mentioned but unseen.  In the original episode Larry David provided the voice for Newman but it was dubbed by Wayne Knight when the series went into syndication.

13. 
"The Heart Attack" (4.25.91).
  After watching a television program on coronaries, George believes he is having a heart attack.  He is rushed to the hospital, and is only diagnosed with tonsillitis.  After weighing the cost of surgery, George considers holistic medicine, and the healer's special concoction sends George back to the hospital.  En route to the hospital, the ambulance is involved in an accident, and George's hospital bill skyrockets. 
Subplots:
Elaine dates George's doctor, but the relationship stalls when he spends the evening discussing anatomical intricacies of the tongue.  Jerry agonizes over deciphering a joke that turns out to be a meaningless phrase from a movie.

14. 
"The Deal" (5.2.91).
  While watching the naked channel, Jerry and Elaine begin discussing the last time they had sex.  As the conversation shifts to reminiscing about their prior romance, they agree to add a sexual component to their friendship.  They establish ground rules to avoid the pitfalls of a romantic relationship, but a disagreement about who makes the decision regarding optional sleepovers nearly destroys their friendship.  Jerry creates additional tension by gift wrapping cash for Elaine's birthday present.  They rectify the arrangement by committing to a purely romantic relationship.

15. 
"The Baby Shower" (5.16.91).
  Elaine organizes a baby shower for an old college friend, Leslie, which is held at Jerry's apartment.  The party is quickly interrupted by Kramer and two Russian men who are installing illegal cable in the apartment.  The shower is further disrupted by Jerry who unexpectedly appears when his show is canceled.  Meanwhile, George schemes to confront Leslie about a prior date where she purposely poured chocolate syrup on his shirt as part of a method acting performance.  Unfortunately, his planned speech is preempted by a woman who confronts Jerry with a similar vociferous incantation.

"The Chinese Restaurant" (5.23.91).
  Jerry, George and Elaine meet at a Chinese restaurant en route to the movie
Plan 9 From Outer Space
.  Although informed that the wait will be 10-15 minutes, their name is never called, so Jerry attempts bribing the host.  While waiting, other events unfurl: George is frenzied because patrons monopolize the pay phone and he cannot contact his girlfriend, Tatiana; Elaine is famished, and contemplates eating an egg roll off a customer's plate; and Jerry broods after unexpectedly meeting his uncle's secretary because he lied about being ill to attend the movie.  After an evening of frustration, the gang missed the movie, canceled dinner, and went their separate ways.

"The Busboy" (6.26.91) (Wednesday, 9:30-10:00 p.m.).
  While dining at a restaurant, a fire erupts when the busboy, Antonio, accidentally places a menu too close to a candle.  George alertly squelches the fire and informs the manager, who immediately terminates Antonio.  George is guilt stricken and visits Antonio's apartment to apologize, but thereafter believes he is being stalked. 
Subplot:
Elaine impetuously invites a man to visit for a week, and then cannot wait for him to leave.  While preparing to depart, he has a physical altercation with Antonio, which leaves him bedridden and reliant upon Elaine as his caretaker.
