“That you’ll never want to leave my house.”

She took a deep breath. “Dean.”

“Fuck yeah. I want to hear you say my name just like that when I’m inside you.”

“Okay, you need to stop. It’s not fair.”

“You coming over tomorrow night and staying until Sunday?”

“Yeah. If you really want me to.”

“Oh, I really want you, beautiful.”

Adeline chuckled.

“I went out and bought a bed for Coco and some bowls. I figure you can bring over his food and next time I’ll help you make it for him so you don’t have to lug it back and forth. Anything else you or he need?”

“Um, no.”

“Good. I’m cookin’ for you tomorrow night. Then we’ll keep it laid-back. Watch a movie or something. Stay in so we don’t risk running into any assholes. Sound okay?”

“Sounds perfect. I can’t wait.”

“Me either. Be safe, and I’ll talk to you sometime tomorrow before you come over.”

“Okay, Dean.”

“Oh, one more thing.”

“Yeah?”

“As much as I’d like to stay in my house all weekend lovin’ you, we might need to take a break. There’s a softball game on Saturday. It’s kind of a long-standing tradition. It’s the guys and Penelope from my station, and a bunch of local cops. I’ll tell you more when you’re over here, but I was hoping you’d like to go and watch.”

“You’re playing?” Adeline asked.

“Yeah.”

“Then I’ll be there to watch.”

“Perfect,” Dean murmured.

“Not even close,” Adeline shot back. It had become their thing.

“Get some sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Okay. Bye.”

“Bye, beautiful.”

Adeline clicked off the phone and closed her eyes. It was becoming harder and harder not to say “I love you” when she hung up or left Dean. A month and a half was way too soon to fall in love with someone…wasn’t it?

Chapter 13

A
deline waited impatiently
at her house for Dean to arrive. She’d called him during her lunch hour and he told her that he’d pick up her and Coco around six after he got off shift. She had a bag packed and it was sitting by the door, with enough food for Coco through Sunday morning.

It was one thing to know she was going to be spending the night with Dean, it was another thing altogether to pack for the trip, deciding on what she would be putting on after showering and being naked with him.

Over the last month, they’d gotten very comfortable with each other. They’d touched and done everything he’d said they’d do…except make love. She’d touched him through his pants and he’d done the same, but she hadn’t seen him, and he hadn’t seen her.

She was ready.

Still nervous, but ready. She wanted Dean. Every time they kissed she got wet so fast, it was almost embarrassing. Her body was readying itself for him and it was starting to really suck every time he pulled back with a tender kiss on her forehead.

Dean wanted to make love, but Adeline was ready to fuck. She was so horny, and ready to feel him between her legs, she just knew she was going to embarrass herself. But Dean always said that he loved how she was so open and didn’t play games…so she wouldn’t.

At 6:02, Adeline saw Dean coming up her walk. She opened the door and didn’t even say hello, just threw herself into his arms and brought her lips to his.

Dean didn’t seem to mind, opening his mouth and claiming hers in return.

God she loved the way he kissed.

As if he couldn’t get enough of her.

As if it was the last kiss he’d ever have in his entire life.

She drew back and licked her lips, which tasted like the mint he must’ve popped in his mouth on the way to her house.

“You ready, beautiful?”

“I’m ready,” she returned, meaning it in more ways than one.

He obviously got that as she saw his pupils dilate. Fuck, she liked that.

“Come on, let’s get Coco and get out of here.”

Adeline backed up and he kept hold of her hand as she led them back into her house. She had to let go when Coco greeted Dean by jumping up on him. She didn’t even scold her dog, knowing Dean had no problem with his enthusiasm. It was just one more thing in a long line of things that she liked about him.

Without fanfare he picked up her bag and Coco’s food. “You ready?”

Adeline nodded. She was so ready.

He smirked as if he could read her mind.

Trying not to blush, Adeline grabbed Coco’s vest and told him to sit. As he’d done hundreds of times before, he sat still and let her strap on the harness and vest. As she did almost every time she got him ready, Adeline felt amazed that the simple act of strapping Coco into his “work uniform” switched something inside him, turning him from the happy-go-lucky, bouncy, hyper Lab into a focused and ready-to-work service dog.

Even though Coco was always ready to alert if a seizure was imminent, he seemed to be even more so when they were out of the house and he was wearing his vest.

The three of them walked to the front door and Dean held out his hand for her keys as he always did. Without comment—she’d learned to just let him do his thing—Adeline put them in his hand. He locked the door, making sure the knob wouldn’t turn, and handed the keys back to her.

Then he put the tips of his fingers on the small of her back and led her to his car.

God, she’d never get tired of that. He never pushed her, just gently guided, walking close, letting her know he was there. Once she’d tripped over nothing, as she was sometimes wont to do, but he was right there, grabbing hold of her waist, making sure she didn’t face plant on the sidewalk. It was the absolute conviction that he’d protect her, even from her own clumsiness, that made goosebumps break out on her arms every time she felt his fingers on her back.

He opened the back door and Coco jumped in as if he’d been doing it his entire life. Dean put her bag and Coco’s food on the floor in the backseat and closed the door. Adeline had opened the passenger door by then and was sitting in the seat. He held out her seat belt, another thing that made her weak in the knees, and waited for her to grab it before shutting her door and striding around the front of his car.

He didn’t insist on opening her door, but anytime he was near, he’d hold out her seat belt so she didn’t have to twist around to grab it. It was a small thing, and something she would’ve thought was odd before dating Dean. But now? She loved it. It was another way he took care of her and looked out for her.

They drove to his condo making small talk. Even as she smiled and spoke about nothing important, Adeline could feel her heart beating heavily in her chest. The anticipation of where they were going and what they were going to do making it hard to stay stoic and unaffected.

She thought she’d been keeping a pretty good handle on it until Dean took her hand in his and said softly, “Relax, beautiful.”

He thought she was nervous.

“I’m not nervous, Dean,” she told him.

He lifted a skeptical eyebrow.

“Okay, not
that
nervous,” she insisted. “I’m more excited.”

“You want me.”

Again, it wasn’t a question. She treated it as if it was anyway.

“Yeah, I want you.”

“Thank Christ,” Dean muttered, then squeezed her hand. “You hungry?”

“No. I ate when I got home from work.”

He looked at her then. It was a quick glance, as they were on the Interstate, but it was full of lust…for her.

“When we get there, you take care of Coco. I’ll bring in your things.”

That sounded like what they usually did.

“Okay.”

“Then when Coco’s settled, we’ll go up to my room. I’ll strip you naked and finally get to see what I’ve dreamed about since that first afternoon we met. I want you bare for me. That work for you?”

Oh yeah. That totally worked for her.

“As long as I get to see you too.”

“You’ll see me, beautiful.”

“Okay.”

He smiled again. “Perfect.”

“Not hardly.”

“Perfect for me.”

She grinned back. Then she pretended not to notice he pressed a bit harder on the accelerator until he was going five miles an hour faster than he usually drove.

Luckily, they didn’t get pulled over and made it back to his house in record time. Without a word, just a small squeeze to her hand, Dean got out of his car and grabbed the bags from the backseat while Adeline collected Coco.

They entered his condo and Adeline immediately got to work unbuckling Coco and getting him comfortable. She put down a bowl of water and smiled at the brand new dog bed in the corner. She showed Coco the bed before letting him out to do his business.

When she was satisfied that the dog was good to go, she turned to Dean. He was standing by the stairs that led up to his room, leaning against the wall. His arms were crossed over his chest, his legs at the ankles, and he was smiling at her.

Adeline would’ve thought he was completely relaxed if it hadn’t been for the way his jaw flexed as he ground his teeth together. Seeing him impatient, but banking it, made her melt.

She walked up to him, and when he immediately stood up straight and dropped his arms, she snuggled into his embrace, sighing when his arms wrapped around her without hesitation. She tipped her head back and looked up at him.

“I can’t wait to feel your naked body against mine. Inside mine. Making love to me, then fucking me.”

She’d surprised him. The look of shock on his face was priceless. Adeline didn’t get one up on Dean that often, so this pleased her.

“Where’d my shy Adeline go?” he murmured.

“You killed her when you made her come the other night. Poof. Gone. You left impatient and horny Adeline in her wake.”

The devilish smile that crept over his lips made her shiver in anticipation.

“Did I? Hmmmm, maybe I should do something about that.”

“Maybe you should,” Adeline happily agreed.

He put his hands on her waist and took hold of her shirt and slowly began to ease it up her body. “Lift.”

Without hesitation, Adeline put her arms over her head, allowing Dean to whisk her shirt off. It dropped somewhere behind her, she didn’t care where. She had eyes only for the man in front of her.

His gaze moved from her face down to her chest and Adeline could feel her nipples peak at the look of intense lust in his eyes. She’d worn a T-shirt he’d seen before, one that was a bit large and boxy. But she’d very carefully chosen her underwear.

Alicia had taken her shopping after hearing about one of their more intense make-out sessions on the couch and listening to Adeline complain that Dean had way too much self-control. She’d worried that her basic black bra hadn’t been sexy enough to entice him.

So Alicia had fixed that. She’d convinced her to buy a bra and panty set that would make a dead man sit up and take notice. The bra was fire engine red, which she thought was appropriate, and lacy. It did nothing to give her boobs any support, but that wasn’t really the goal of the scrap of material. The lace was wide, and when she’d put it on, her nipples were clearly visible under it. Adeline hadn’t been turned on when she’d put on the bra, but now that she was, her nipples were sticking through the holes in the lace.

Glancing down, and seeing how almost obscene the garment was, Adeline blushed and brought her eyes back to up Dean. “I, uh…I thought for our first time, I might go out of my way to—”

Dean didn’t let her finish her thought. He leaned down with a groan and took one nipple into his mouth, and his fingers came up to pinch and tease the other.

Adeline’s head fell back as she brought one hand to rest on the back of his head, encouraging him, and the other clutched at the shirt at his waist.

The feel of his lips and teeth playing with her nipple as it stuck through the material of the bra was almost too much. She felt hot, then cold, then hot again. Nothing had ever felt like this. Absolutely nothing.

Adeline arched her back, pushing her breast harder into his mouth. She felt his smile form around her, but soon forgot everything but the feel of his fingers tugging and his mouth sucking on first one nipple, then the other.

She staggered in his grip as her knees wobbled, breaking his concentration. He wrapped his arm around her, bringing her hips flush against him. He was hard as a rock and Adeline wiggled, wanting more.

“I can’t fucking wait to see the underwear that goes with this bra,” Dean murmured as he bent and nuzzled the sensitive skin between her neck and shoulder.

“Upstairs,” Adeline told him absently.

“I could take you right here,” he returned, not moving an inch.

“Yeah. And I’d let you. I think I’d let you do whatever you wanted, wherever you wanted, but Coco’s watching. Can we ease into the audience thing?”

He chuckled and drew back by lifting his head. “Yeah, beautiful. We can do that. I want you the first time in my bed anyway. Can you walk?”

“No clue. Maybe if you took off your shirt it would help motivate me.”

He smiled at her again, letting go altogether. Not expecting that, Adeline stumbled, but quickly righted herself when Dean reached behind his head and grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled it up and off.

“Do guys have classes on how to do that?” she asked absently.

“What?”

“How to hot-guy-remove your shirt.”

He grinned again. “Nope. Comes naturally.”

“Figures.”

Dean stepped backward onto the first step. Then he did it again, reaching for the button on his jeans. He went up another step as he undid it.

Adeline smiled up at him and stepped to the first stair.

He slowly unzipped his jeans as he continued upward. Adeline followed as if he was the Pied Piper and she was a mouse in his thrall. And she was. She was totally in his thrall. Her gaze going from his fingers at his crotch, up to his smiling dark eyes, and back down. Deciding she could tease him as well, her own hands dropped to the fastenings at her waist.

They played a weird game of show and tell as they climbed the stairs and then made their way down the short hall to the master bedroom. By the time they reached the doorway, Adeline could see the head of Dean’s cock over the top of his boxer briefs and her pants were all the way undone, showing off the bits of red lace covering her mound.

Dean stopped moving just inside his door but crooked his finger at Adeline. She kept moving until they stood no more than a couple inches apart.

“Take off your pants, but leave the panties on. I want to see the whole package.”

“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” Adeline retorted, loving their banter.

Without a word of protest, Dean toed off his shoes and shoved his jeans down his legs. He took off his socks then stood in front of her. His underwear did nothing to hide how excited he was for her.

Swallowing hard and glancing at the floor, suddenly embarrassed as well as turned on, Adeline hurried to take off her own shoes and socks and remove her pants. When they were pooled around her ankles, she stepped out and straightened. Trying to suck in her less-than-flat belly and hoping Dean would be too interested in what the red lace was covering and would overlook the small love handles and the way her thighs touched and the hundred other not-so-model-like aspects of her body, Adeline waited.

“Fuck. Me,” he breathed. “Put your hands behind your neck for me, beautiful.”

Thinking it was weird, she did it anyway, and then realized why he wanted her to. Putting her hands up by her head arched her back and made her breasts lift. It also gave him unfettered access to her entire body.

He used one finger and ran it over the tops of her breasts, then her nipples, which were still sticking out through the lace of the bra. He ran it under each globe, then up and over her collarbone. Still using that one finger, he moved it down to her belly button, and before she felt uncomfortable, he moved it to the top of her panties. Her now soaking-wet panties. He dipped that finger just under the elastic and ran it all the way from one hip bone across to the other. Adeline shivered.
