“So that’s why you went wholeheartedly into
the BDSM lifestyle as soon as you were old enough so doing it didn’t break any
laws?” Liz grinned, then bent and nibbled at the landing strip on top of his
head.

“Stop that or my cock will wake up and fuck
your ass again before we go to sleep.” His hot little slave knew how her
playing with his bare scalp brought his dick to instant attention. She took
great pleasure in doing it on the pretense of soothing a headache or just
stroking the smooth skin after he’d just had it shaved. “Frank’s arraignment
begins at eight in the morning, and I want to be there. Not for him, but for
the attorney I persuaded to defend him.”

She licked a path around the top of his
head before stopping and shooting him a brilliant smile. “Do you want my ass in
the air or on the bed, Master mine?” she asked as she positioned herself so he
couldn’t help but look at her delectable rear end.

He didn’t have a headache anymore. His exhaustion
had taken a hike. “Stay right where you are. You know I can’t resist a hot,
tight ass when you put it right in front of me. Close your eyes and keep your
hands close together on the footboard.”

He couldn’t resist. He bent and rimmed her
before grabbing a condom from the nightstand and rolling it over his erection.
“This will be quick and hard, honey. You deliberately took my mind off what’s
coming tomorrow, what happened today—off everything but fucking you until we
both pass out from the pleasure.”

Her cunt was soaking wet so he
finger-fucked her there, then inserted his drenched fingers up her ass before
sinking into her and pumping furiously into the rear hole he loved to fuck.
“Come for me, my hot little slave. It’s hard to believe you thought at first
that you wouldn’t like having my cock inside you here.”

She met his every thrust. Sweat beaded
along the curve of her spine, whether from his brow or her own heat he couldn’t
say. His dick hardened more with each stroke, and his balls tightened in their
sac as they bounced against her cunt.

“Come with me, honey,” he said as they came
together one last time and he held her ass cheeks to keep her still. Buried
deep in her rear hole, her anal sphincter almost as tight around his flesh as a
cock ring, he came in long, hot spurts that seemed to go on for hours while her
little whimpers let him know he’d satisfied her too.

The next morning they made it to the
courthouse in time for Jack to speak with Frank’s lawyer—but by mutual
agreement they left before the arraignment began to go back home and continue
their daily mutual rituals—shaves, showers and sex.

Epilogue

Christmas Eve at the Laughing Wolf

For such an unconventional dude, he’d
agreed to a very conventional wedding. Jack stood in the old-fashioned living
room at his bride’s childhood home, his half-brother Bye at his side. They both
wore black tuxedos with dark-green ties and vests, costumes of an entirely
different kind than those they often donned when they played at the club.

His mother, threatened into good behavior
on penalty of death, sat quietly beside Hortensia, his old babysitter. On the
next row Buck Oakley, Mike Dryden and Mike’s little boy had taken places on his
side of a makeshift aisle divided with the white satin ribbons Liz’s mother had
insisted upon. A lot of his clients had come, which surprised him, and several
friends from the Neon Lasso had taken their places near the back of the room,
all of them looking suspiciously vanilla for the occasion.

White hothouse roses, poinsettias and some
lacy-looking white flowers he couldn’t identify sat in crystal vases around the
makeshift altar where the minister who’d married Bye and Karen stood to do the
honors once more.

He glanced at Liz’s guests, old school
friends and a horde of cowhands in their Sunday finest. He recognized most of
the wranglers, even old Tom whom he’d thought might be the one Liz would ask to
give her away. A young cowboy who’d been volunteered to usher brought Mavis in
to her front-row seat. Jack managed a smile for her, because she’d stepped back
graciously once he’d reminded her the ranch belonged to Liz, not to her. He
spied Deidre at the end of the family row and hoped to God she’d buried the
hatchet with him because Bye had mentioned she was home to stay.

Where the hell was Four? Liz had said he’d
be Mavis’ escort for the day.

A six-piece band struck up the traditional
wedding march he’d heard at several dozen weddings over the years. Karen came
in, looking as gorgeous as ever in a gown the color of his and Bye’s bow ties.
With her red-and-white bouquet, she looked like a luscious Christmas package.
Jack knew Bye would enjoy unwrapping her.

When Karen got to them the music got
louder. There was Liz on his old man’s arm, so beautiful she put every other
woman in the place to shame in the red designer gown that had been the only
tradition she’d insisted on flaunting. What she’d said was true. Red was her
color, white was not. The strapless gown, with a matching veil even more
translucent than the G-string she’d worn with her cowgirl costume, made her
look absolutely radiant. Four looked down at her as proudly as though she were
his own child.

“Who gives this woman to be married?” The
minister’s booming voice brought Jack out of the fantasy that he was making
love to Liz, not waiting to make her his wife.

“Her mother does.” Four put Liz’s hand in
Jack’s, then spoke so only they could hear. “I’ve given you to her, son. Take
care of each other.”

Jack nearly choked up at the recognition.
It had taken thirty-two years to come and it might never be acknowledged to the
world, but for the first time in his life his father had called him
son.

The rest of the ceremony went quickly. Jack
guessed he said the right words. He knew he’d given his bride the sweetest,
most loving kiss of his life. They’d partaken of Maria’s groaning Christmas
buffet and toasted each other with the vintage champagne Four had insisted on
providing. Afterward they’d danced with each other and it seemed with half of
the wedding guests.

Best of all even Deidre had acknowledged
that they were shotgun relations. Not very flattering, he guessed, but it was
better than the epithets he’d expected her to hurl his way.

They’d done their things, accepted the
gifts they wouldn’t open until they came back here after their honeymoon. Now
Jack wanted to take Liz and go back to his house in town, where their love had
begun. Back to the bed where they’d spend the night before leaving for a ski
trip in Wyoming.

Not that they’d get much skiing done, if he
had anything to say about it.

About Ann Jacobs

Ann Jacobs is a sucker for lusty Alpha heroes and happy
endings, which makes Ellora’s Cave an ideal publisher for her work. Romantica®,
to her, is the perfect combination of sex, sensuality, deep emotional
involvement and lifelong commitment—the elusive fantasy women often dream about
but seldom achieve.

First published in 1996, Jacobs has sold over forty books
and novellas, some of which have earned awards including the Passionate Plume
(best novella, 2006), the Desert Rose (best hot and spicy romance, 2004) and
More Than Magic (best erotic romance, 2004). She has been a double finalist in
separate categories of the EPPIES and From the Heart RWA Chapter’s contest.
Three of her books have been translated and sold in several European countries.

A CPA and former hospital financial manager, Jacobs now
writes full-time, with the help of Mr. Blue, the family cat who sometimes likes
to perch on the back of her desk chair and lend his sage advice. He sometimes
even contributes a few random letters when he decides he wants to try out the
keyboard. She loves to hear from readers, and to put faces with names at
signings and conventions.
