“Oh my God…” The tears were now rolling down her cheeks. “You talked to dad.”

He nodded. “Delilah Reynolds. I have loved you since the first moment I saw you almost five years ago.” He cupped the side of her face, as he held the ring before her in his other hand. “Even before I knew you, you became a part of my life. What I thought about when I was having a bad day. Who I dreamed about when everything was going well.”

Silent, she cupped his hand and pressed it tighter to her face, her tears bathing them both.

“I feel the same.” Wrapping his arms around her, he feasted on her lips, igniting his desire. Leaning her back against the couch he began plucking open the buttons of her blouse. When he had barely made it to the third button, revealing her black lacy bra, the timer for the bread went off.

Groaning, he stared down at her. “Don’t refasten your top. I’m going to get dinner on the table, but as soon as the meal is over, I’m going to finish showing you how much I missed you this week.”

He left her on the couch and went to the kitchen to turn off the stove and pull the homemade bread out.

“Roberto.”
