As they were fluffing pillows and getting comfortable, Jackson commented, “I heard you getting some business for the shop today.”

“Yeah. Some sounds like it will be pretty pricy work too,” Cam responded. “I was beginning to think there wouldn’t be enough traffic around here for a full-time garage.”

“You’re gaining their trust.” Jackson rolled over on his side to face Cam.

Cam looked over and could make out the shine of Jackson’s eyes. “A few weeks ago, that would have been my cue to strike. But I don’t want to be that snake anymore, Sheriff.”

Jackson nodded and leaned in for a kiss. “You’re just one of us town folk now.”

As he listened to Jackson’s breathing even out, Cam stared off into the black of the room. He wished he could look out at the moon but figured it wasn’t as important as having Jackson beside him. The bed shook when Tommasina hopped up and got comfortable. Cam reached out and petted her, listening as she took up a rumbling purr.

Yeah, life was good. He’d finally found his home.

JASON HUFFMAN-BLACK
could be described as the porn star alter ego of the mild-mannered editor for several LGBT publishers. By day, Jason edits and writes in a cozy chair, while Mr. Huffman-Black travels the globe on such adventurous excursions as wrestling the one-eyed spitting serpent of Tangiers, ass-spelunking into the hidden tomb of King CockTut, and most recently, sharing a prison cell in a small third-world nation with a rather sweaty fur-covered hulk of a man named Javier.
