One thing that was immediately noticeable after the battles was the abrupt halt of Reduviid attacks, as well as other Brotherhood attacks.  A month had nearly passed, and I was enjoying a quiet evening at the estate with Kala and the twins, when I received an urgent message from Admiral Regeny’s office to check the news.  I turned on my vid screen and coded in a playback of the latest news cast.  A breaking news item showed Ming on screen delivering a message to me over the Federation News media.

“I need to thank you, Tibby, for getting rid of Roritat for me; now I won’t have to kill him myself.  I never intended to let that fool live.  I told him attacking your Cantolla Gate Station was a foolish idea, but when he told me he would lead the attack himself, I knew you would take care of him for me, and you did.  Only one of us could be emperor, and he didn’t have the stomach to rule with the iron fist necessary to dominate the galaxy.  I do, and now that I am the sole potentate of the Brotherhood of Light, you will see what a true commander can do.  I should show my appreciation with some small gesture.  However, you did destroy my Reduviid base as well as killing one of my favorites, Sisopan, and you thwarted my conquests of Porpoatr and Locola.  I cannot allow this.  I warned you the past not to interfere with my plans and that there would be consequences if you did.  By the time you receive this message, I will have already destroyed a world.  It may take me a while to replace the ships you destroyed, but your actions have only delayed my conquests by a little; so until we meet again, Tibby, enjoy the freedom you have.  It's only a matter of time before the Federation bows before me, and you will be my slave.”

SOLBIDYUM WARS SAGA – BOOK 8-NO TIME FOR GLORY

Twenty years have elapsed since Tibby first arrived in the Federation and rose to fame and fortune as discoverer of the long-lost solbidyum treasure and hero in the Federation’s fight against the Brotherhood.  Not all battles have gone well over the years and the Brotherhood has managed to capture and pillage nearly a third of the Federation planets.  As Fleet Admiral, Tibby leads the military in the seemingly perpetual struggle to rid the universe of the evil Brotherhood.  The Federation has had only isolated successes that have resulted in the destruction of a few key Brotherhood bases and supply depots.  At last, new information may lead to the discovery of Brotherhood shipbuilding sites, as well as their headquarters and the evil ruler Ming.

Now, against the dictates of the Senate, Tibby takes the
MAXETTE
far outside the Federation territories among hostile worlds in an effort to find Ming and finally end his reign.  In spite of the consequences associated with defying the Senate, he takes the war to the enemy’s home in an attempt to bring the hostilities to an end and save the Federation.

In the meantime, Tibby has ordered Kerabac to take the
NEW ORLEANS
to Earth, where Cantolla and her team of biologists begin to reintroduce some of the hardier life forms to the slowly recovering planet.

Tibby’s angst grows with the distance he puts between him and the Federation territories, as he begins to doubt whether the intelligence received about the location of the Brotherhood headquarters is valid.  Has he been led into a trap far from home, while the enemy attacks the heart of the Federation?  Will he be able to accomplish what he sets out to do?  Or will things turn out poorly, leaving him to return home a shamed and tarnished military officer – if he returns at all?

About the Author

Dale Musser was born in 1944 in a small rural community of Pennsylvania.  From 1967 until 2012 he was employed as a structural and piping designer in the industries of marine and offshore resources, cogeneration power and hard rock mining.  His work at three shipyards and assignments with several engineering and naval architectural firms during his careers in Virginia, Texas, and Maine, took him to such places as London, U.K., Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., Scotland and Mexico.  During this time, he was responsible for the design of reactor compartments for nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines for the U.S. Navy and the structural designs of numerous offshore semi-submersible oil rigs, tanker ships, supply boats, and other vessels and equipment used in the offshore industry.  After the death of his wife in 1999, Mr. Musser changed careers and went to work in Arizona and Utah in the hard rock mining industry.  He retired in Fall of 2012 and currently resides in Mesa, Arizona.

Dale enjoys rock hunting and lapidary work, gourmet cooking, writing, poetry, art, music, religions and philosophy in small doses, astronomy and the sciences in general, hiking, camping, the outdoors and the gifts that nature provides.  Mr. Musser is a member of Mensa and remains an avid reader, having lost count of all the books he has read after 3,000.

The greatest joy in his life is his daughter, Heather.  Affectionately they call each other “BUBBY.”
