About the Author

Lloyd Brook had been found as a baby, in a smoking circle of stones, by Doctor Amy Brook who, through the invisible machinations of the golden talisman around Lloyd’s neck, had found it incredibly easy to cut through the red tape normally associated with adoption.

By the time Lloyd reached his teens he had already shown signs of having strange powers, not least of which was his ability to see auras.

When he had just turned sixteen Lloyd’s teacher, Mr Miller, possessed by a strange gangly creature, the Daemon Mordja, tries to take the talisman from Lloyd but is thwarted by the magic protecting it.

That evening a strangely dressed man collapses on Amy’s porch and proclaims that Lloyd is not of Earth and is a Sorcerer, a magician who can wield all four of the elemental powers.

The strange man was Darrion, a Master Magician who can wield the power of air, who has spent years searching for the talisman fixed around Lloyd’s neck, holding, as he believes the power to unlock the laboratory of Lloyd’s father, King Joran, and gain access to the five forbidden tomes of magic; possibly the only hope of defeating a gathering threat from the Daemen Realm, instigated by Lloyd’s power hungry uncle, King Hextar.

Unable to remove the talisman from Lloyd’s neck the only solution is to take boy and Mother back to Darrion’s world and the kingdom of Kalana.

They arrive at a circle of stones on the plateau known as Arrenloft and are joined by Darrion’s friends; Kenelm Monk of Arrenloft, Boadaiska Princess of the Wolf Clan and an apprentice girl magician called Edala.

They travel to the school of magic on Arrenloft to gain horses to help with their journey, the group too large for Darrion to use the translocation spell to transport them greater distances.

From Arrenloft they visit an Inn in the village of Daria, situated at the foot of Dragonmight Mountain the ancient home of the Dragons. In the inn they encounter a strange old man with tales of Ingemar King of the Dragons, the girl Edala seems strangely attentive to the old man.

After Daria they divert to visit Edala’s father Arden; a giant of a man with piecing violet eyes which turn silver under Lloyd’s soul vision. Arden insists on joining them on their quest for the forbidden tomes locked away in the king’s laboratory at the Palace in the city of Seadawn, Capital of Kalana.

When the companions finally arrive at the city, they have to sneak in through a secret passage and discover a trapped mistrusting populace, with reports of strange disappearances and murders.

Finally after gaining access to the palace by using a sewer pipe, they manage to use the talisman to unlock the magically protected laboratory and Arden and Edala escape with the books, while Lloyd, Darrion and the others head to the dungeons to rescue Lloyd’s biological Mother Queen Tereza.

Upon freeing the queen their escape is thwarted by the Daemon Mordja still in the damaged body of the teacher Mr Millar, he has also brought a hostage from Earth; a girl from Lloyd’s school called Wendy Walsh who Lloyd had been infatuated with from afar.

Bound and tied to a column in the throne room of the palace, Lloyd is blackmailed with threat of torture and death for his friends unless he wields the power of his four elemental soul portals to enlarge the portal to the Daemon Realm.

In desperation, hoping to buy some time, he reluctantly agrees but is soon overwhelmed by the intoxicating use of his sorcerous power. Finally the portal widens, but Lloyd passes into unconsciousness losing his power at the same time.

A powerful Daemon Lord, Hozjoh, emerges from the portal and all looks doomed until Edala and her father Arden intercede. Arden transforms into the huge form of Ingemar last of the dragons and battles Hozjoh and the Daemen getting bitten by a venomous bite in the process.

The companions are aided in their escape by a wealthy merchant called Horace Burnaby, a shrewd man but one who is fazed by the supernatural beings he is now encountering.

Boadaiska who had developed a relationship with Arden, Ingemar’s human form, is mortified at the thought of being intimate with a monster and refuses to speak to both Arden and his daughter Edala.

Amy heals the giant man and when Horace’s yacht the Stormracer, arrives at the city of Seaguard the dragon flies off and leaves them.

At Seaguard, Lloyd’s half-brother Prince Hegan aids them and prepares for war against the threat from the North.

Lloyd and the companions decide to continue southwards in an effort to pick up a ship to take them to the wizard school on the Isle of Retreat, where Darrion’s old Master, Sheu, is the head of the school. And who may be able to help in the fight against the Daemen.

In their travels they pass through the realm of the Wolf Clan, where Boadaiska heals an old rift with her father, Clan King Orakhan, and the companions discover that the mystical creatures, known as the Mae, could possibly be able to cure Lloyd and restore his sorcerous powers.

On visiting the strange Mae, made out of the very elements, Lloyd is healed and makes the promise, not realising the enormity, to hand over his first born child to the Mae in payment for healing.

By this time Lloyd has formed a firm friendship with Edala and has decided that he no longer loves the femme fatale Wendy.

The companions, when they reach Mallaca Bay, in search of a ship, discover a delicious new drink called Hurg and discover that Horace Burnaby has an alter ego; the infamous pirate Skullcrusher Wallace. They join his ship and meet two young male albinos; Airon an air mage and Ziron a water mage. These two were found ship wrecked as children and have no knowledge of their past.

On the Isle of Retreat, Lloyd is trained by several masters and the forbidden tomes examined. Finally plans are made to fight the Daemen Horde. While on the island; Amy marries Darrion, before returning with him and Wendy to Earth. It is Darrion’s intention to recharge the protection wards on all stone circles, hoping to prevent any Daemon from entering Earth as Mordja had.

Before Wendy leaves she seduces Lloyd and he clumsily frolics with her on the beach, not realising that a tearful, heartbroken Edala had witnessed the whole thing.

Lloyd is mortified when he discovers this and it takes sometime before Edala will even speak to him, and when she does; she is already seeing a young Earth apprentice called Mal and hanging out with him and his friends.

Mal has discovered Lloyd’s secret cave and the forbidden tomes; from one of the books he guesses that Edala is a daughter of the dragon, with blood having special properties.

Mal and his companions tie Edala to a rock on a beach and carry out a rite with her blood, nearly killing Edala in the process. Lloyd discovers the scene and is overtaken by Sorcerer’s Rage absolutely decimating Mal and his friends with terrible sorcerous powers.

Kenelm informs Lloyd of Edala’s death and Lloyd again reaches deep into his power, beyond any type of known spell, to heal the true love of his life.

Weeks later, relationship blooming, Lloyd, Edala, Master Sheu and other air mages, including a spotty girl with red hair called Bethany, translocate, as quick and often as they can, to get to the Southgate on Kalana’s southern border and prepare to engage the Daemen Army.

At the Southgate refugees and a shattered army from Seaguard arrive, including a young soldier called Allen; who Lloyd and Edala provide with a magical sword, Allen proclaims himself as Lloyd’s Protector.

Lloyd and Edala also equip Boadaiska with magical swords so that she can join Lloyd in translocating to the Palace at Seadawn to close the fully opened Daemon Portal. Boadaiska has confided in Edala and Bethany that she is pregnant with Arden (Ingemar’s) child.

At the palace Boadaiska and Lloyd encounter no resistance, but there are signs of some recent battle and the Daemon Portal seems unstable. Littered around the floor are bodies of ebony skinned midgets with long silvery hair and also strangely beautiful woman with ebony skin and all manner of eye and hair colours.

Lloyd successfully closes the portal using one of his newly learned sorcerer spells and he and Boadaiska translocate back to the Southgate.

When the Daemen finally arrive the battle initially goes well, with Lloyd unleashing a tornado spell slashing at the creatures with thousands of magically charged sharp weapons and objects.

Lloyd soon tires; however, when Daemon Lord Hozjoh changes tactics and unleashes a surprise attack from Daemen possessed refuges close to the companions.

The apprentice Bethany manages to cast a protective wind wall to save several of them from a hail of poisoned crossbow bolts, but not unfortunately Boadaiska, now in early pregnancy with Arden’s child.

Arden, oblivious to the world, holds the dying woman in his arms. Seeking an ideal opportunity to kill their ancient foe, the Daemen mount an attack against the kneeling man, only just thwarted by a terrified Edala who transforms for the first time into her own Dragon Form.

When she changes she locks eyes with Lloyd who faces the full force of her uncontrolled dragon fear, his terror; to her, looks like hate and she flees away from the scene heartbroken again.

All seeming lost, Daemen bearing down, it is Lloyd’s Mother Queen Tereza, who rescues them all, unwittingly, by plunging a sword through King Hextar’s heart.

With his death, all of the Daemon he was responsible for summoning, including the Lord Hozjoh, are sucked back into the Daemen realm, all other Daemen fleeing in shock.

Lloyd only wanting to find the girl he loves; renounces any claim to the throne and declares his brother, Prince Hegan, as the new rightful heir.

As Lloyd declares his quest to find Edala; a strange hairless Ebony Being, body riddled in tattoos, watches on menacingly from a distance.
