Sameya drew away from his lips,
not lingering
on how good they’d felt pressed to her
s
. She whispered against his ear. “Kill the vampyr the moment I shut the bedroom door
behind me.”

The shifter nipped her earlobe. “As you wish, mistress.”

Smiling, she stepped out
of
his reach and strolled toward the door.

“Where do you think you’re going?”
The haughty vampyr. Too bad she wouldn’t be present to witness his death at the hands
of his lover
, otherwise she’d gloat her ass off
.

“To cool off with a drink. That is allowed, right, master?”

“You’re not allowed to leave the premises without my express consent.”

Sameya
flicked him the finger as she shut the door behind her. A roar emerged the moment
the lock engaged.
She
giggled as crashing glass and a curse from the vampyr sounded from the room.

“I win.” As always
I win
. She was a master
at
the games immortals played.

She reclined against the door to listen to the
conflict within
.
T
he vampyr
held no chance of escaping
the shifter. Being lovers,
Maximus
would
try
to
not
harm Gabriel
any more than necessary
.
Because of his inability to
injure
his mate, the vampyr would
fail
,
and the shifter would win.
That equated to victory for Sameya.

There for a
brief
moment
, she’d contemplated going along with their game. What harm would it have caused?
None
really
. She would’ve gotten laid, been disappointed when the sex sucked—as it always did
…that wasn’t likely to change after over fifty thousand years
—and then
she would’ve
been on her merry way after she gloated over not being their mate.
The ‘told you so’ would’ve been sweet. There was one problem with that…s
he ran her finger along the collar.
No one subjugated her without repercussions.

With a tilt of her head and a grim smile, she tapped the jewels.
In no time at all, this
trinket
would be useless.
The
witch’s
magic infused into the choker gave Sam
ey
a a direct link to that particular creature. That one was
near
. Very close
, indeed
.

Keeping the shifter was tempting. He’d been receptive of her siren
song
. Easy pickings. They made the best pets.

But first things first…the
witch
responsible for this fuck-up. The streamers of magic painting the air would lead
her straight to her quarry. Sameya stepped away from the door, her stride determined.

Chapter
Eight

The home of her
captors could be classified as
a mansion
it was so huge
.
Having no intention of staying beyond the next five minutes, she ignored the
obviously male
décor and made a beeline straight for the
sorceress
.

Sameya found the
witch
in a room full of entertainment…televisions, billiards, darts, eighties
arcade-style
games, along with a full
y
stocked bar by
her guess
.
The
enchantress
felt young, not more than
three or four centuries old. An adolescent in paranormal years, but the power coming
off her—she’d be extremely powerful in another century
, which would make her an invaluable
pet
when
Sameya
c
ould wield the
other woman’s
magical clout
for her
own
benefit.

Going invisible just as the
witch
turned in the other direction
, allowed Sameya to go unnoticed. As she approach
ed
the enchantress undetected, she attempted to dig into her thoughts…but was blocked.
Stronger than
I
realized. She drew abreast of the other woman
and felt
anxiety
radiate from her tall, lithe figure.

“Who are you?” The w
i
tch’s gaze darted about the room.

Sameya smiled. Throwing her power about the room to confuse a fellow supernatural
was one of many siren skills.
They’d been useful creatures once, killing the human pestilence that existed among
mankind, even killing their own when they’d gone insane or wanted too much control.
They’d earned their reaper nickname. Feared by all of the loredom, their friends were
few, but they kept the peace
at all cost
. Many of her kind currently neglected their talents and had grown indolent in life.
Pampered in Atlantis they collected friends rather than
the scum.

Since entering earth, she’d discovered m
ankind was
plagued with evil; it even
fester
ed
among
their youth
. Their justice system lacked conviction, but Sameya wasn’t bound by the human law’s
sense of
fair play.
While here on her mission, she’d taken out several
a
moral
individuals
.

Empress E’Nesk
ha
trusted Sameya to
locate the would-be assassin
,
and she would complete her mission
.
A couple of so-called mates
wouldn’t
distract her or
stand in her way.

“Where are you?” The
witch’s
voice trembled.

Smart girl to fear
me
.

“Here.” Her voice projected across the room and the other woman turned toward the
sound. “But I’m really here.” Sameya laid her palm on the
witch’s
bare shoulder and overpowered her with siren magic. “Mine.”

The
enchantress’
lips parted in a gasp as she spun about
,
while Sameya fizzled into view allowing her invisibility to drop.

Sameya trailed a finger along the girl’s jaw. “Sit.”

Her new pet slumped onto the sofa, gawking at Sameya.

“What’s your name?”

“Kat.”

“How old are you?”

“Four
hundred
twenty-three.”

She could see the frustration and questions burning in the
girl’s
teal eyes. “Speak freely.”

Kat
gulped. “Why would you serenade me?”

“You helped
enslave
me.” She
indicated the choker about her neck. “But
that’ll cease soon.”

“The magic’s good for a month. It won’t drop before then.”

“It
is nil
when
Maximus
is
dead.”

You killed him?

Kat
paled at the idea.

“No.” Sameya shook her head. “He
will be dead soon, though
. I serenaded the tiger and set him on the vampyr.”

“They’re your mates!”

“Not going to happen.”
Kat’s
stricken expression articulated her confusion without the need for words. “Mate is
a
polite word for master.
When a siren mates, the female is serenaded
, and loses her freedom
.
I will not allow that to happen to me.

Why’d she confess that
,
when she normally hoarded siren secrets? She had no idea, but she did know she
would
never
give her spouse complete control over her. No way would she forfeit her
liberty
simply
for the elusive orgasm. Nothing could possibly be
that good.

They aren’t like that. Maximus and Gabriel won’t want to control you.”

Anger spiraled up her spine. Sameya ground her back teeth to resist retaliating against
Kat. “Maximus. Already. Does. Control. Me.” She jerked hard on the
choker
. “Thanks to you.”

“On your knees, bitch.”

Sameya
bristled
at the sound of the
British
voice behind her, but went to her knees. “How’d you survive?” The tiger should’ve
bested the vampyr. They were superior fighters.
Goddamn! What was she to do now?

“Release Kat from
your serenade
.”
Oh
,
he sounded angry, very angry. Good! She was pissed that he subjugated her!

How she despised him for his control over her. Unable to disobey, she connected with
the mental constraints she’d bound to the
witch
and cut through them. Kat sagged as if actual
ties
had been
severed
.

“Be careful, Maximus. You have no idea how
powerful her magic
is.”
The witch rubbed her temples.

Proceed with caution
, Kat.” Sameya glared at the woman. “When this is over—”

“Enough!” Maximus stepped in front of her. Capturing her gaze with his glowing green
vampyr eyes, he hooked two fingers beneath the necklace and jerked her a littl
e straighter
, the jewelry pinched
the back of her neck.
A cut on his brow healed
as she watched
. The evidence of clawed material indicated he’d survived an attack.
“Come, my little reaper. You have a tiger to release and an orgasm to experience.”

Chapter
Nine

Maximus watched Sameya pale at the mention of
an
orgasm. He’d never met anyone that didn’t greet a climax with eagerness, but sirens
were unique among the paranormal cast
e
s
and t
he most powerful of
all mystic
creatures
. Their
kind
ruled Atlantis. They
could’ve
run
the universe, but they
were obligated to the
survival of mystics
. They were the jailers, the assassins, and the sin-eaters for the diversity of the
supernatural.

Conflicting emotions
migrated
through
him
. He wanted to redden her backside with a long and well-needed spanking, but he wanted
to see her expression when she came for the first time. To have discovered she would
be enslaved to the
one who gave her such pleasure
surprised him. He wouldn’t want to be anyone’s slave either. But…she held no qualms
about
chain
ing others
to her
domination
.

“We’ll release Gabriel from your
serenade
first. On your feet, Sameya.”

“I hate you.” She knocked at the arm that had two fingers locked around the jewels
encircling her throat.

Holding tight, he
yanked
her against his body by the
necklace
, angled
his hand beneath her chin
,
and forc
ed
her to tilt her head back to meet his eyes
. “At the moment, the feeling is mutual.”

She was so tiny pressed up against h
im, the top of her head reached
only his shoulders, but his dick responded like a flash fire. Flaccid one moment,
and hard a second after she connected with his frame.

“Maximus, go easy on her.” Kat gripped his arm. “She’s your mate and scared.”

He was no fool. He knew she was frightened. Being held against her will went against
her nature. Sameya used all available resources to gain her freedom. He’d do the same
in a similar situation. The problem they had was convincing her she was better off
with them.
