bed. Then he pulled her hands out of his hair and in a quick motion he chained her

wrists. Tamara tried to kick her legs but Gage had already moved on top of her and his weight held her down. He tilted his head and smiled at her. “Mine.”

She smiled and said, “Yes.”

“You interrupted my trip,” he said. He bent his head and nipped at her lower lip. “I still want to finish.” He kissed her chin and moved down her chest. Using his hands he pushed her breasts together so he could kiss both nipples. Tamara arched nearly off the bed as the electric feeling moved from her nipples to her cunt. Her head lolled back and she surrendered all thought as she sank into the sheer physical storm Gage was generating.

It seemed like forever that Gage worshiped her body. He finally spread her legs.

She felt his cock hanging heavily against her thigh but that wasn’t where she wanted it.

She squirmed and smiled up at Gage’s laughing blue eyes. He shifted a little, and with one quick fast hard stroke, he filled her.

His hard cock slammed into her and Tamara felt nothing but excitement. His cock

penetrated until it could go no farther. Tamara struggled to assimilate her feelings. She felt full and empty at the same time. Her vagina rippled around his cock and she couldn’t tell whether she was trying to expel it or pull it deeper. Gage slid his arms under her shoulders and pulled her tightly against his chest. There was no space between them.

His body engulfed hers. His hand moved to a breast and his fingers captured a

nipple, tweaking it almost to the point of pain. The sensation added to her excitement and she tried to move her hips but he kept her pinned to the bed. Not being able to move should have freaked her out. But her fear had vanished under Gage’s careful tutelage. She could let her emotions run free because she trusted him to give her

pleasure, not pain.

His hard body crushed her soft one but nothing hurt, instead Tamara moaned and

nearly screamed at him to fuck her. She wanted more. She needed something more.

Luckily, Gage knew what she needed. He kept his cock buried deep inside her while he rocked his pelvis against her clit.

The pressure built until she thought she’d explode then she smiled. She would

explode for him but not just yet. The idea that sex could be pleasurable was still a new shiny toy she wanted to play with. “Don’t stop,” she moaned.

“I’ve no intention of stopping, darling, but I want you on your stomach.”

“What—”

Gage flipped her so fast she wasn’t sure how he’d done it. All she knew was that

she was now on her stomach. Gage pulled her hips up and he slammed home into her

cunt. He moved so fast she lost all track of time and place. She fixated on his cock pumping in and out of her cunt. He was so hard and so warm, his chest to her back. He circled his arm under her breasts and placed his other hand on her abdomen. He pressed her abdomen tightly when his cock was at the deepest point. The sensation of pressure from inside and outside her body sent her screaming and soaring at the same time he shot his semen deep inside her.

The next day Gage described his plan. “We’ve planted rumors about the holovas.

Simon has responded anonymously but we know it’s him. He and Randall both know

you’ll be there too.”

“They’ll be anxious to get the holovas and me, won’t they?” Tamara swallowed

hard. She wasn’t thrilled by the idea of seeing either man again.

“It’s dangerous but I’ll make sure you’re safe, darling.”

“Gage, I’ve already agreed to help you. Don’t talk me out of it by telling me how

dangerous it is.”

He reached out and captured her. He gave her a quick kiss then said, “I love your

spirit.”

“Let’s just capture these bastards. They’ve haunted me for long enough.”

Chapter Twelve

Two days later, Tamara watched Gage’s capable hands as he piloted the ship into

the cave system on Deliverance. She flashed on the memory of those hands doing things to her body. She swallowed hard. Now wasn’t the time for her hormones to go into overdrive. The coming mission would be dangerous. She needed to focus. She shoved

aside the memories and looked out the viewport.

Why had Gage chosen this meeting place? Deliverance was named by early settlers

who’d thought they’d found sanctuary on a green, thriving world. They hadn’t realized that once every hundred years the planet passed through a storm of comets that scoured the surface. Some of the settlers had been saved by the network of caves just beneath the surface of the planet. Now the planet and the cave system were largely deserted. It was a favorite pirate rendezvous because of its isolation.

As if in defiance, the cavern system swallowed the lights from the shuttle. Even

their most powerful torches barely lit their way. Tamara tried to shove aside her anxiety as she watched Gage fly through the system far too fast for her comfort.

Tamara’s discomfort increased as Gage parked the shuttle in a large cavern and

they walked out. Why had she let Gage talk her in to helping him? No reward was

worth this hell because not only was the cave black, the rock walls seemed to reach out toward her as if they would capture and swallow her. The tunnel they walked through was narrow. She couldn’t avoid brushing the rough rocks that snagged her shirt. She knew by the end of this her clothes would be torn and tattered. And the heat seemed to sap her will. It was a dry heat but that didn’t mitigate the stifling temperature that seemed to soar from the depths. It must be over a hundred degrees. Tamara had spent her life on climate-controlled space stations and spaceships. The unrelenting heat seemed alive as it bore down on her.

They reached the entrance to the meeting place. Their sensors showed no life so

Gage and Tamara entered the cave to wait. They were taken by surprise when a laser

shot came from the dimmest recess of the cave. Before Tamara or Gage could move,

Simon and ten of his crew appeared in front of them. His laser pistol held steady and it was pointed directly at Gage’s chest. Gage and Tamara froze.

“Where did you get a cloaking device?” Gage asked.

Simon laughed. “I have powerful friends.” He shifted his gaze to Tamara. “Hello,

Tamara is it now? It’s been a challenge to keep up with your name changes,” he said, eerily echoing Gage’s comment about her name changes.

Simon continued, “You’ve a good identity guy to make you all of those credentials.

I’ll have his name before I’m through with you.” Tall and skinny, Simon shouldn’t have appeared threatening, even when holding a laser pistol but his eyes made up for his lack of physicality. His dark eyes had no depth. They seemed to swallow light like a black hole. Simon motioned Tamara closer, “Come here, Tamara. It’s been too long since I touched you.”

“Kill me,” she replied and stayed by Gage’s side.

“No. I’ll kill him,” Simon said as he fired at Gage.

Gage’s quick movement saved him from the killing blow but the laser grazed his

side. He was thrown off his feet and landed hard, cracking his head against a rock.

Tamara moved toward Gage but Simon moved faster and grabbed her arm. “Oh no,

Tamara. He’s done for. You’re all mine now.”

Tamara looked at Gage lying so still and for a moment she thought he was already

dead. Then she saw his chest rise and fall. Not much but enough to let her know he was alive. She had to help him but to do that she needed to take care of Simon. She swallowed her fear and turned. Simon kept a firm grip on her upper arm. The laser gun was pointed at her belly. Clearly he didn’t trust her. She supposed she didn’t blame him for the mistrust. He knew she didn’t want to be with him. She had to end this quickly.

How? His crew members had spread out. She wouldn’t be able to escape them all but

she had to try. She’d use Simon’s weakness for sex against him.

Tamara shifted her pelvis so it pressed against Simon. The motion pressed the laser gun hard into her. She ignored it as she swallowed her nausea. She had to do this. It was the only way. She squirmed a little, tilted her face to look up at Simon, and smiled.

He smiled down at her. His arrogance evident, he asked, “Decided I’m the better

pirate?”

“Obviously, since you’re standing and he’s not. I have missed you Simon. I was

wrong to have left you,” Tamara whispered, her voice husky.

Simon lowered the pistol and circled his arm around her waist, pulling her into his chest. “Yes you were wrong,” he said before bending his head to take her mouth in a hard, cruel kiss.

Tamara fought her memories of how he’d held her helpless and defeat threatened

to overwhelm her. She stiffened her spine. If she didn’t fight him, she’d become his toy again and that wasn’t going to happen now that she knew what passion should feel like.

Tamara swallowed her revulsion as she reached into her pocket. The knife wasn’t

much but if she could only get it in the right place, it would be enough.

She inwardly focused on Gage and what he made her feel and taught her she

deserved, instead of what Simon’s actions. That sure knowledge allowed her to

minimize what Simon was doing. Her breasts should be treated gently, not groped. Her mouth should be caressed, not crushed. She mentally shoved aside Simon’s cruelties and managed to remove the knife. With a quick motion, she shoved it into his groin.

She knew by the feel of the knife entering his body that she’d missed the cock she’d been aiming for.

He pulled back from her, a startled expression on his face before he dropped to his knees. She’d hit his femoral artery. Blood sprayed along the ground and covered her too. He fell facedown in the dirt, a blank look on his face. In just moments he was truly

gone. He’d never hurt her again. She grabbed the pistol from Simon’s hand and sought shelter behind a rock outcropping.

Tamara was on her knees, her head bent. What now? She’d never killed a man

before despite what the authorities thought about her father’s death. She looked at Simon’s lifeless form and bit back the nausea. He didn’t deserve her guilt. She’d seen him kill too many people and he’d shot Gage. Gage! She yanked her mind out of her life-and-death struggle to look over to where Gage still lay on the ground.

Before she moved to check on him she cautiously looked over the rocks. Where was

Simon’s crew? She’d expected a laser shot by now. She peeked over the rocks. The

crewmen had disappeared. Where had they gone? Were they using the cloaking device

to wait for her to expose herself or were they sneaking up on her even now?

A tunnel at her back beckoned. She didn’t have to stay there. She could be free. The shuttle was ready and waiting. David would come down and get Gage. She could leave.

Tamara wanted to run. Her heart pounded and her muscles tensed. She was just about

to run when she saw Gage move his hand. She still didn’t know how badly he was hurt but if she left now, she’d be leaving him to almost certain death. Much as she wanted to find safety, she couldn’t leave Gage alone and hurt.

Tamara ignored the escape tunnel and scuttled over to Gage. She ripped the front of his shirt and tore off a piece. Tamara pressed the fabric against Gage’s abdomen. The wound was shallow and glancing. The blow to his head was likely more serious. He still hadn’t regained consciousness.

“Damn,” she cursed as she started dragging him through the tunnel and back to the

ship. She wouldn’t leave Gage even if it meant her imprisonment. Much as she wanted to dismiss him, she couldn’t. He wasn’t like other men. He’d been good to her. She just had to trust that if she got him to the ship, David would uphold the deal she’d made with Gage even if he died. Something flickered in her peripheral vision. One of the crewmen materialized and he was pointing a laser pistol at her head. How could she rescue Gage if she was dead?

The thought had just flittered through her mind when a dark shadow passed over

the crewman, taking him to the ground. In the dim light, Tamara couldn’t tell what had happened but it looked like the crewman’s throat had been ripped out.

“Do not look. This will not be pretty,” Fakzi growled. “Attend to Gage. Get him

back to the shuttle.”

Tamara bit off her questions. Fakzi was right. Now was not the time. Tamara

wound her arms under Gage’s shoulders and started dragging him back to the shuttle.

She saw Fakzi take down three more of the crew before she was far enough away not to be able to see into the cavern. Apparently the cloaking device didn’t hide the crewman from his senses. She relaxed just a bit. With Fakzi on her side she might actually be able to get Gage back to safety.

Tamara breathed a sigh of relief when she entered the cavern that held the shuttle.

Almost safe. She wondered how much damage she’d done to Gage by the slow bumpy

trip through the tunnel but knew that scrapes could be easily healed while another laser blast couldn’t.

Tamara had just started up the shuttle entrance ramp when she saw Randall

walking out of a tunnel and pointing a laser pistol at her. She hesitated. The door was close. She might be able to make it. Then she looked at Gage. She couldn’t leave him like this. If she did, she knew Randall would finish him off.

“Come down here,” Randall said.

Tamara tilted her chin. “Why should I? You’ll just kill us anyway or worse, take me prisoner again. I’d rather be dead.”

“Maybe you’d choose death for yourself but I don’t believe you’d let me kill him,”

Randall said, pointing his weapon toward Gage.

If Randall focused on Gage, shot him, it would give her the precious seconds she

needed to get inside the ship. Could she really do that? Could she really let Gage die to save herself? Was she that shallow? Where was Fakzi?
Fakzi we’re in danger.
