Preston had obliterated my virginity. Murdered it.

And I loved him to pieces.

* * * *

I stared at myself in the bathroom mirror. Rose-colored hickeys and bite marks blemished my neck. Looked like I'd been mauled by a rabid animal.

If Chelsea doesn't know Preston's fucking me, she soon will. What will she say?

That afternoon I found Preston in the kitchen. He was shirtless, his head in the fridge as he rummaged for something. He brought out a bottle of beer and unscrewed the lid.

Pop
.

Whipping his head back, he gulped the beer. Then he cast a sexually ravenous gaze my way, letting me know how horny he was.

He was
always
horny.

"Where's Chelsea?" I asked.

"Who the fuck cares?" A grin spread on his face. "I only care about fucking you." His gaze shifted toward the bedroom at the end of the hall.

"She's going to catch us. You know she will."

"I don't care." He swaggered over to me, folding his arms around my waist and running a hand up my backside. "I love you, baby."

"Love you too, Preston."

Backing up, he took another swig of his beer and held it in his cheeks. He slanted, lifted my face to his and kissed me. With our lips sealed together, Preston flooded my mouth with beer, passing it along as his lips caressed mine in a thrilling kiss. In snaked his tongue.

I swallowed his gifted drink.

This was an unusual kiss, but it got me wet and ready.

He took a final swig, gave me another sensuous kiss. Beer surged from his mouth to mine. Greedily I gulped. Preston's fingers explored my waistline, traveling up the sides of my breasts. His pelvis gyrated against my belly, his cock hardening.

"
Mmm
, Melody. My sweet little Melody," he whispered in my ear, holding me, making my body sway with his.

A door slammed, rumbling the floor below my feet. Preston rushed over and peered past the corner.

Chelsea was home. My heart sank.

She stormed into the kitchen. "I know what's going on, Preston. I'm not an idiot." Chelsea glared at him.

"Okay, so you know about me and Melody." He threw his hands up, shrugged. "What can I say? I moved on with my life while you were gone, and I'm not sorry about it."

She fixed her fiery eyes on me. "Melody? Seriously?
You
and Preston?"

My mind went blank.

"Well? Don't you have anything to say?" Chelsea trembled with rage.

"Leave her the fuck alone, Chelsea," Preston said, stepping forward.

"No I won't." With her hands on her hips, she turned to him.

"Goddamnit, Chelsea. You were the one who left first.
Remember
?"

"How long, Preston? How long has this shit been going on?"

"Several months after you already left." He smirked.

Chelsea whirled to face me again, her eyes big, crazy, threatening.

"Chelsea---" Before Preston could finish she charged straight for me.

Frozen, helpless, I was unable to budge. I could only watch as she barreled forth, her arms outstretched as she got ready to shove me.

The words
crazy bitch
flashed in my mind.

Chelsea's hands braced my shoulders, but Preston grabbed the collar of her shirt and yanked her back. Choked by her shirt collar, her face reddened.

She doubled over.

"Get the fuck out before I really lose it, Chelsea. I mean it." Preston's hands tightened into fists.

Chelsea fell quiet and gazed up. She looked newly pitiful as tears overflowed her face.

Preston remained stoic, angry. "I said
get the fuck out
."

She didn't move. Preston seized her shoulder and nearly dragged her to the front door while she sobbed, wailed and caused a scene.

"That's enough, Chelsea. Your phony little act isn't going to work." He threw open the door and coaxed her out.

She was still sobbing outside the doorway. "Jared doesn't really want me. He's been using me for sex! So where am I supposed to go, you asshole?"

"I don't fucking care. Figure it out. Hell, go stay with your mom or sister."

"I don't want to. Why should I? You're living in
my
house, Preston! I have as much right to live here as you do."

"No you don't." He shut the door in her face, latched the deadbolt. She pounded on it from the other side.

Preston rolled his eyes, then headed for me. He took my hand in his. "She'll go away eventually."

His ensuing laughter was contagious. And he was right; Chelsea's ranting died down and we heard her car pulling out of the driveway.

Relief washed over me.

As Preston and I stood in the bedroom, we clung to each other.

Nothing could tear us apart. Nothing ever
would
.

* * * *

Ashlee was pissed when she found out about my relationship with her father. She soon got over it, though. I told her she had no other choice because I wasn't going anywhere, and neither was Preston.

Chelsea signed Preston's divorce papers, kindly getting out of our lives.

Ultimately, Preston fathered the son he'd always longed for. We became a family. From day one it was meant to be, and I thank god it finally happened.

Happily ever after at last
.
