  1. Spray a 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Add the bread cubes.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the evaporated milk, eggs, brown sugar, cocoa, and vanilla until the sugar and cocoa dissolve. Pour over the bread cubes.

  3. Cook for 5 hours on low or until the pudding no longer looks liquid.

Suggested Bread Pudding Variations

4 Bosc pears, peeled

1 vanilla bean, split

2 tablespoons vanilla extract

2 cups water

  1. Stand the pears up in a 4-quart oval slow cooker.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients.

  3. Cook on low for 2 hours or until the pears are tender. Discard all cooking liquid prior to serving.

Ingredients

4 cups mixed fresh berries

  1. Toss the berries, sugar, and fresh ginger together. Set aside.

  2. Whisk the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Beat in the egg, evaporated milk, and canola oil until a thick dough forms. Shape into 2 dumplings.

  3. Spray a 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Add the berries in an even layer. Drop in the dumplings.

  4. Cook on low for 2 hours.
