Authors: Justin David Walker
We looked at each other for a long time. Who needed words?
Finally, though, I cleared my throat and said out loud, “So, you want to go do something?”
“Sure,” Hannah said. “What?”
I shrugged. “Dunno. We could go shoot some hoops.”
She pretended to think about it for a moment, then shook her head. “Nah.”
With a smile, we joined hands and shot up into the sky. We soared over our town, heading west towards the gray clouds that were just starting to gather. Although we didn’t say it out loud, we agreed that if we could stay above the oncoming storm, we’d be just fine.

About the Author
Justin David Walker is also a comic book geek with a faulty memory. This is his first published novel, but he’s been writing for decades as a way to escape the drudgery of school work, food service, and the practice of law. Many more books are forthcoming. There is a method to his madness. When he’s not writing, Justin watches cartoons with his daughter, movies with his wife, and
Doctor Who
by himself. He and his family live in West Des Moines, Iowa, with two guinea pigs that have serious carrot addictions.
