As for those arch-cryptozoological skeptics who routinely dismiss reports of mystery beasts as mere fable and fantasy, yet who nevertheless will no doubt be reading this, I can but offer them the following valediction:

But remember always…that this is all a fairy-tale, and only fun and pretence; and, therefore, you are not to believe a word of it, even if it is true
