“It’s not like that Ryan” she had begun as he had cut over her.

“It is exactly like that Jenna.........he is up there right now with another woman........and you allow it”.

Jenna had sighed wearily, her eyes dropping to the floor.

“No........you have it all wrong........he isn’t up there with another woman” she had finally raised her eyes to his.

“He isn’t up there at all..........he is in a local hotel with his boyfriend”.

Ryan had stood still in complete stunned shock.

“Boyfriend?”

He had finally managed, his eyes showing his confusion.

“But you and...”

Moving to stand further from him with her back to him Jenna had sighed wearily.

“When we got here, well we were a last minute inclusion.......they had assumed that he and I were a couple........we are not” she had added with a shaky laugh.

“Anyway they had put us in the same room. I asked if there were any more rooms, but every other one was taken.........so rather than cause a fuss, and risk one of us not being able to be at the presentation......... we took it. Craig had the bed and I had the couch”.

She had looked out into the garden, seeing as the light had slowly covered the bright colours of the plants and grass with a grey tinge which seemed to steal some of the life itself from the intense colours of the vegetation. She had held her breath, not sure what he would say or do, instinctively feeling as he had moved closer to her.

“So you and Craig are not together?” he had finally said slowly, “You are not engaged?” his voice so close to her head, as she had shaken her head gently.

“No”.

“But why didn’t you tell me?” he had whispered so gently against her hair, as she had clutched at the ornate stone railing, her whole body so aware of his closeness.

“I think you know why” she had replied. “After what happened in the woods yesterday...........I just needed you to stay away from me........to not make this any harder than it already is”.

She had felt his hands resting softly on her shoulders, her teeth biting her lip to stop the small noise of pleasure from leaving her mouth, her body stiffening.

“Please don’t Ryan” she had whispered as she had felt his body move against her back.

“Jenna” he had whispered, his breath against her ear, as she had shivered.

“Why are you fighting this so hard, why can’t see that we never got this out of our system....that we need to work this out together”.

Jenna could feel the tears once more rising to her eyes, as she had angrily dashed them away, a small sad half laugh leaving her.

“You make it sound so easy Ryan, and maybe it is for you, but it took me so long to get over you. I was in love with you, and you...........you treated it as though it was nothing, as though my feelings meant nothing”.

She had felt as his hands had held the tops of her arms, moving her around to face him, his expression so serious.

“When you told me you loved me Jenna, I didn’t know what to say, what to do. We both knew the score, and you go and hit me with that. I was wrong to react the way I did, but I just didn’t know what else to do”.

She had remained still and silent in his arms, as his thumb had moved too slowly brush away the tear slowly winding down her lovely face.

“Are you still in love with me?” he had asked softly, seeing as she had looked away, before once more turning to face him.

“No”, the lie sticking in her throat, but the need for him to not see her as the pathetic love sick child of four years ago so important to her.

“But you still want me don’t you Jenna?” he had again whispered huskily, pulling her in harder against him, hearing as she had groaned softly.

“Yes” her voice almost inaudible, the truth falling quickly from her lips.

“Then we owe it to each other to work this out, to get whatever this is between us fully out of our system...to do what we should have done four years ago”.

Stiffening slightly she had tried to move from him, feeling as his hands had held her firmly.

“No........as far as I’m concerned it’s over Ryan, you can’t go back”.

As he had dropped his head to her mouth, she had twisted away, but he had continued to move, allowing his tongue to run silkily along her throat, feeling as the small vein had thumped so fast, like a small bird trapped in a stranger’s hand.

“Why are you so afraid Jenna, you said you didn’t love me anymore”.

She had brought her hands up between them, trying so hard to keep him from pulling her fully against the hardness of him, feeling as her body was already starting to falter in her determination to hold back, as the need had filled her as it always did when he held her.

“When you get out of the fire, you don’t turn around and jump right back into the frying pan” she had bitten out, hearing the small chuckle from him.

“Well there are just some things worth getting burnt for”.

He had whispered, his arms moving around her waist and pulling her harder into him, his mouth taking hers stopping the words from spilling out, as with a whimper her arms had flown around his neck kissing him back with as equal a passion, her heart wanting so much to be there, while her mind had chastised her screaming for her to run, that she was the one who would be burnt, before with a sigh she had given up fighting.

She could feel as he had bent, lifting her into his arms as she had held him silently, her head tucked under his chin as with determination he had moved around the outside of the building, avoiding the other guests and moving into a room just off the gardens through a set of French doors, which were slightly ajar allowing the cool air to fill the opulent room.

He had strode over to the bed, determination in every step, before gently laying her down onto it, standing over her, his eyes scanning her lovely flushed face.

As her half closed passion-filled eyes had opened staring so uncertainly up at him he had felt himself shiver with the way just a look from those innocent blue eyes could affect him, groaning softly as he had moved to lie down alongside her, his hands gently stroking her cheek as he had looked deeply back.

“I missed you Jen” he had whispered sensually seeing the way her eyes had glowed so brightly, her hand rising to trace along his lips.

“I missed you too Ryan” she had finally replied, her tone like warm water sliding down his spine, as unable to hold back any longer he had kissed her, the passion exploding between the two as they had clawed at the others clothes, pulling shirts and dresses and all other clothing from each other, until their naked bodies had finally touched, both of them pausing as the sensations had sent goose-bumps through them both.

Her hands had shaken as they had moved to lightly run down his side, hearing the soft groan as he had pulled her tightly against him his mouth dropping to kiss along her neck, Jenna shuddering with the strength of her need for him. His hardness against her belly had twitched as her fingers had encircled him, his breath catching in his throat, his head dropping to suck in one engorged nipple, Jenna gasping loudly.

“Oh Jenna...I need you so much” he had whispered against her heart, his fingers moving to slide between her legs, to feel the wetness of her as her hips had bucked against his hands, Jenna pulling his head back to her mouth, her lips needing to feel him against her as she had panted back at him

“Ryan...oh Ryan...make love to me ...please”

Jenna had felt him move her to her back, as he had moved over her, her legs opening as though it was the most natural thing in the world to have him there. She could feel the hard heat of him as he hesitated at the slick wetness of her, his whole body shaking, before with one smooth fluid motion he had penetrated her fully, Jenna gasping loudly her body arching with the intensity of the sensations flooding through her. She had grasped his shoulders, as her body had moved with him, welcomed each and every thrust from his, time slipping away their lovemaking so familiar, so wonderful.

She could hear his panting, hear the way he whispered her name before he had hit the centre of her, her whole body exploding, the sensations ripping through her as she had bucked under him crying out not even aware as he had prepared to take his final thrust, his body shaking as he had joined her, their cries and pants intermingled as they had both felt the darkness reaching for them with the intensity of their orgasms.

Finally, their mouths had sought each other, as they had kissed the gentleness bringing them down slowly from the frantic rawness of their lovemaking, before he had raised his head to look deeply into her wonderful eyes.

“I missed this too Jenna” he had smiled softly, seeing as her lips had twitched gently, her head nodding slightly.

His head had fallen against her cheek.

“No other woman has ever made me feel this good”.

He had whispered, the warm pleasure filling her, before the realisation that that had all there had ever been for him, just good sex. That what he missed was this, the sexual side of their relationship. Hurt once more swamping her.

“This is a mistake Ryan”.

She had whispered, as he had rolled from her, his arms pulling her into the crook of his embrace.

“No Jenna.........your leaving was the mistake” he had replied softly, his fingers gently stroking her arm, frowning softly feeling her stiffening in his arms.

“Jenna?” he had said, his voice questioning as she had quickly sat up, her body turning to look down on him.

“I made the mistake Ryan?” she had questioned, the hurt she was feeling so clear on her voice, an anger rising in her wonderful blue eyes as she had raised her chin defiantly.

“Yes, your right the mistake is mine.............it is a mistake to be here with you now.............a mistake to let you seduce me once more into your bed.........but one thing that I will not do is make the mistake of staying with you”

With that she had made to move out of the bed, as his fingers had grasped her arm, pulling her back down onto the soft sheets, moving over her.

“You don’t mean that Jenna”, his voice pleading, seeing the tears perched on her lids feeling as the anger had seemed to drain from her.

Her hand had moved to slowly stroke his cheek, those blue eyes full of such honesty as she had spoken so softly that it was almost a whisper.

“This is wrong Ryan” her hand moving to his lips to stop the response from him leaving his mouth

“What has changed?...nothing has”.

Her features full of such sadness.

“I can’t go through that again Ryan...I just can’t, so if you care anything for me...then you will just let me go and leave me alone”.

His mind had flown back to Craig’s words, frowning in confusion, wanting to say something but not sure what. Instead he had looked back at her beseechingly.

“Jen........I don’t know what this is............but I know that for the past four years I have missed you.”

She had looked back at him sadly.

“You need closure Ryan...........that is all. We never really said good bye. So let this be the closure and let me go. Let us both move on with our lives”.

Ryan had felt the cold fingers clutching painfully at his stomach, felt as they had twisted painfully inside him.

“You are wrong Jen” was all he could say, as she had shaken her head gently, moving from under him and sliding to the other side of the bed. His eyes had followed her movements, as she had retrieved her clothing, pulling each item back on. His mind struggling to search for the right words, the words that would make her stay, make her stay with him.

Finally dressed, she had moved over to sit beside him by the side of the bed, her eyes taking in his broad shoulders, the muscled hair splattered torso, his arm muscles showing as he had leant on both elbows looking at her.

“Good bye Ryan Trudeau” she had said softly, fighting the sob that tried to rise from within her, seeing the look on his face as he has whispered softly to her.

“Please don’t Jen” her head moving to the side as a tear had slid down her cheek, her hand dashing it away.
