Chapter Ten

Selena was showered with everything her heart could ever desire or dream about, and even others beyond her wildest dreams.

“So, how is Mr. Wonderful?” Melanie asked sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.

“Come on Mel, he hasn’t been that bad lately,” Krystal defended while Selena shook her head.

“I did say wonderful,” she grinned. “What’s the plan for today?”

“Shopping,” Krystal said with glee. “Did you know he has offered to pay for her rent?”

“Great. Why didn’t he just buy her a condo?” Melanie asked as if that made perfect sense.

It did. “She refused that,” Krystal said and grinned again.

“What?” Melanie asked. “How come I wasn’t told about this? How come she heard before me?”

“Mel, you are always being a drag about Ethan,” Selena finally said. “Everything I say, you feel the need to add something negative. Furthermore, I only told Krystal yesterday.”

“Still, now you make me feel bad,” Melanie said. “I had good reason for being the way I was. You never liked him, and then suddenly one day you did, and he was doing alright, and just when I warmed up to him, you got pregnant, and he suggested abortion. Forgive me if I wasn’t as forgiving as you two,” she said as she pouted and folded her arms in mock anger.

“It doesn’t matter now,” Selena said. “He will do right by me whether we are together or not. As long as I have his and your support, I will be fine,” she smiled. They all did.

“Okay, enough of this mushy stuff. Let’s get shopping! Woohoo!!” Krystal hooted as she bounded from the sofa and grabbed the keys. “It is a beautiful Saturday morning, and I need to get some stuff for my nephew.”

“He is more my nephew than yours, color and all,” Melanie said as she stuck her tongue out at Krystal.

“You can have that round, but just because I don’t want you to hold a grudge concerning the condo and all,” Krystal rebounded, also with her tongue stuck out. Melanie grabbed at her, and she ran, squealing out the door. The other girls followed, and soon they were on their way to the shopping district.

“I can’t wait,” Krystal said, and she wasn’t kidding. She lost control as soon as she walked into the baby and toddler section of the department store. She bought bags, onesies, millions of socks, and rags and tees, and everything baby, so much so that it fascinated Melanie and Selena. Ethan had given Selena a gold card so she could make her purchases, and as much as Melanie urged her to, she refrained from buying any unnecessary items.

“Okay, I think someone needs some food,” Selena said as she backed out of the store. They had so many bags they could hardly see where they were going, and it was most unfortunate that the one person Selena would have wanted not to run into turned out to be the person she did.

“Oh, sorr...” The word fell short as Megan realized who had crashed into her. She looked from Selena, to Krystal, to Melanie, back to Selena, and then at the bags.  Her eyes widened as she suspected she had been right all along. “What do we have here?”

Both girls looked at the woman, and then at Selena for some explanation. “This is Megan,” she said to them, and then their faces grew hostile.

“So I was right all along; you are pregnant,” she said. “Miss Goody Two Shoes finally got knocked up. What will everyone think?” She said as she folded her arms.

“They will say she had sex and produced a miracle. Not all bodies were designed for greatness, and from the looks of things I’d say you are holding up the rear end on that one,” Melanie fired defensively.

“Come on, Selena,” Krystal said as she nudged her friend along. “Some people just don’t know when to quit.” Krystal moved her along even as she resisted.

“Is it Ethan’s?” She asked again.

“Girl, if you don’t back the hell up, I swear I am going to deposit this bag in your throat,” Melanie threatened as she barreled into Megan.

Megan’s eyes popped, and she looked at Selena as if she expected her to defend her. “Is that a threat?” She finally asked Melanie.

“No! That was a promise. Just say one more thing,” she said as she arched her eyebrow and glared at the girl. She realized how serious Melanie was, and after giving Selena one last ‘I will see you at work’ look, she backed away and disappeared into one of the boutique stores lining the walk.

“Thanks Melanie,” Selena said as she and Krystal burst into laughter. “I could not deal with her another minute.”

“Well how will you deal with her at work after this?” Krystal asked.

“I’ll just ignore her like I mostly do,” she responded.

“But how will you handle everyone else?” Krystal continued.

“Krystal, she isn’t the first or the last woman who has been pregnant and Eth...”

“Shh,” Selena said as she clamped her hand over Melanie’s mouth.

“He isn’t the only one who can get her pregnant,” she said adamantly.

“That is true,” Krystal had to agree. “Okay, let’s put the bags in the car and come back for some food. My hands are beginning to hurt.”

“As they should,” Selena laughed.

The girls spent the rest of the day doing more shopping after they had eaten. At day’s end, they were all spent, so when they left and Ethan showed up, Selena was hardly in the mood to entertain him.

Someone looks beat,” he said as he slid past her, placing a wet kiss on her cheek as she closed the door. “And I can see why.” He turned to her and smiled before walking over and peeking into some of the bags she had all over and on the carpet. “You went shopping today. Isn’t it a little too soon now?”

“Are you the superstitious type, too?” She asked. She had often been told by some women that to shop so early for a baby was oftentimes bad luck. It turned out to be true for some as they never got to the delivery room, and all the purchases made were wasted on things the mother couldn’t either use or keep for herself anymore.

“Well... okay, nothing will happen,” he said as he smiled. “Our baby will be out of there in no time,” he said as he walked back to her and rested his hand on her stomach. “He is growing rather quickly, wouldn’t you say?”

“As opposed to what? I’ve never been pregnant before, so there is nothing to compare it with. Furthermore I am already in my second trimester; he will be shooting up in no time.”

“So, is it a good time to...” he said as his words trailed off, and he started nuzzling her neck.

Selena closed her eyes as she bit her lips and felt the goose pimples already dancing along her spine. But she knew she was too tired to be of any use to him, so eventually she held him on the shoulders and eased him off of her. “Not tonight, Ethan,” she said. “I am much too tired even for lovemaking.”

He pulled back and looked at her eyes as they fluttered lazily, and he could see the tiredness resting on her face. “Come here,” he said as he led her to the bedroom and propped up the pillows for her.  “Lay there,” he commanded.  When she did, he took her feet, one at a time, and began to rub them slowly and softly. Selena moaned as she relaxed into his massage, and she was grateful for it because her feet were throbbing. “Better?” He asked.

“Much,” she replied. He continued until he began stroking her legs as well and proceeded to strip her of her clothes.

“Ethan?” She called.

“It’s not what you think,” he defended. “I just want to give you a bath,” he said as he moved from her and went into the bathroom. Selena could hear the water running, and him moving about and opening and closing drawers and cupboard doors. “Okay, all set,” he said as he walked back to the room and led a now naked Selena into the bathroom.

She could see that he had made her a bath and had found all the condiments he needed. “Thank you,” she smiled as he held her hand and let her slide into the warm water awaiting her. She closed her eyes as he took the sponge, filled it with water, and then began lathering her body with it. His gentle strokes aroused every sensation in her, and she couldn’t ever remember being treated this way by a man.

Ethan watched her, her eyes closed and the back of her hair now wet and resting limp on her shoulders. She looked more beautiful as the days went by, and he found himself wanting to be around her more and more. Sometimes he had to restrain himself, because he knew he was being observed, by both Eva and the other women he would oftentimes indulge himself of pleasures with. And it was with exactly that in mind that he chose not to drive his own car when he visited Selena and not to come straight from home or the office anymore.

He soaked the sponge with water and squeezed the contents onto her already glistening skin, and he couldn’t resist the urge to kiss her as she lay there looking like a bronze cherub. She opened her eyes as he did, but this time she didn’t affront him; instead she parted her lips and received him fully, and the waters on her lips collided with the heat on his and fizzled. Selena pulled him closer, no longer imprisoned by the tiredness that had captured her earlier, and she now felt energized, ready for a round of Ethan.

His breathing had already started getting shallower, and hers was steadily rising, as if they were competing for who could have a heart attack first. Ethan unwillingly let his lips slither from hers as he stood upright and hastily removed his clothing. Instead of pulling her from the bath, he slowly stepped in, and she repositioned herself so that he could be at her back, and she could remain snug before him. He encircled her with his arms as he let his muscles flex across her breasts as he squeezed her into him. Selena relaxed her head against his shoulder as his lips caught her earlobe. She sighed as goose pimples swarmed her, and Ethan expertly found all the sensitive spots at her nape. Then slowly his hand crept to her secret place, she moved her leg about as his middle finger danced over her clitoris, and she trembled as she thought about his tongue doing the same dance. She bit her lips and pressed his hand harder against her as he slipped it inside her. With lips mapping out her throat and nape and one hand cupping her breast as the other played inside her, Selena grew mad.

“Would you like to get out of the water now?” He breathed against her skin in words so soft she could barely hear.

“Yes,” she responded in like manner.

Ethan stood and stepped from the water, holding out his hand for her to do the same. With a trembling body, Selena did the same and squealed as he lifted her in his arms and carried her. He laid her on the bed, and with water still displayed on their bodies like graffiti, they smeared each other in saliva and love juices. Selena lay still as he played with her nipples one at a time, in a slow and torturous way, before slithering along her stomach to her navel and to places she had longed for his touch.

By the time Ethan was breathing hard and losing the battle for long foreplay, he realized how still she had become. He looked up and saw her eyes closed, and her breathing that had become steady. She had fallen asleep.

“More tired than you realized,” he said more to himself than to her. He retrieved the towel from the bathroom and dried the water marks from her skin before doing the same for himself. By this, his erection had fallen flat, and he got in bed next to her. In her sleep, she turned to face him, and he kissed her forehead before snuggling next to her. And for the first time in a long time, he tasted of happiness, and in the dead of the night, he grew protective of it.

Chapter Eleven

“I have to say I am impressed,” Melanie said as she helped Selena pack her bags. “You barely seem to have time for us... again.”

“Oh stop, Melanie,” Selena giggled. “This is only the second trip we will have in a month.”

“But he is always here, or you are out, or something will happen while we are here and we have to leave.”

“Melanie, you sound jealous of a man you utterly despise,” Krystal added.

“Oh shut up, Krystal. Furthermore I didn’t say I despised him. I just didn’t like the way he treated Selena or any other woman for that matter. I believe in equality of the species, and men and women should be granted the same privileges without women being looked...” She stopped when she saw them both mocking her and rolling their eyes. “What?”

“We have heard that feminist speech many times, Melanie. You no longer need to preach to this congregation,” Selena said.

“Yeah. We know we are equal; we get it,” Krystal told her.

“There was a time when you used to be on my side, Selena,” Melanie said. “Black with black, and now you made this hoochie mama...” She stopped talking when a cushion hit her smack in the head. “Krystal,” she screamed as she flew at the girl. Selena simply moved out of their way; they had had this sort of relationship their whole lives, and Selena had resigned from playing referee. Plus she was in no condition to do so.

“Okay, so while you two mess around, I have some packing to do, so excuse me,” she said as she walked to the bedroom.

That was enough to jolt some common sense into them both. “You’re right,” Krystal said as she gave Melanie a ‘what were we thinking’ look. They both followed Selena into the bedroom where they resumed their duties as friends and pests. “So, boating huh?” She asked her.

“That’s what he said. I’m not sure where exactly if anywhere at all specific that we will be going. Maybe we will just be sailing around the quays,” she said as she shrugged her shoulders.

“Look at you, Miss I am so used to this flashy life,” Melanie said with a laugh. “Honestly though girlfriend, I am glad I was wrong about him, because I can see that he has been keeping you smiling.”

“He has,” Selena admitted. “And there he is,” she said as she heard her phone ringing. She took the call away from the girls and returned with a concerned look on her face. “It seems he won’t be able to pick me up after all. He asked if I could meet him at the marina.”

“That’s not a problem. But why couldn’t he come for you?” Krystal, the ever romantic one asked.

“The wife, or ex-wife I presume,” Melanie answered. Selena had shared his reasons with them, and they understood his actions from it. “She seems like a bitch enough to follow him around to find reasons to take his life away from him. Ethan has much to lose; I’d defend the little I have, much less a fortune on a hill.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot for a second,” Krystal said. “So what time should you meet?”

Selena looked at her watch. It was already half past ten.  “He said in a half hour. That should give us enough time.”

They spent another ten minutes fetching outfits and fussing over what was most appropriate. “Guys, this is just an overnight trip; I am not moving out,” Selena had to say finally, laughing as she did. “Alright, this is done. Let’s go before he thinks I’ve changed my mind. I am sure to be late now.”

They drove to the marina and were in fact fifteen minutes late from the time Ethan gave them. But when they got out and looked around his car was nowhere to be seen. “Where is he?” Selena asked.

“Does he drive a Porsche?” Krystal asked suddenly.

“I think he has one of...” She began to say and then looked in the direction she was staring. A silver Porsche was just making its way onto the dirt track off the road. “That’s him all right.”

“I see you made it on time,” he said with a grin as he stepped from the car. “Hello girls,” he said as he waved to them.

“Man does he look good,” Krystal said with a sigh. “If you ever think of giving him up, I’ll take him,” she said.

Melanie punched her on the shoulders. “Eww, that’s nasty; no offense, Selena. Hi, Ethan,” she said and grinned back at him.

“Hi,” Krystal managed to say when the blush wore off.

“I thought I was late,” Selena said as she received a kiss from him.

“I knew you wouldn’t be here at the time I gave. Women,” he said as he pulled away. “All set?” He asked her.

“I believe so,” she smiled.

“Guess that’s our cue,” Melanie said as she moved to hug Selena.

“Thanks guys,” she said as she hugged them together. “See you tomorrow.”

“Melanie doesn’t like me that much, does she?” He asked when they were out of earshot.

“Could you blame her? You gave me a pretty hard time. It’s not that she doesn’t like you; it’s just that she doesn’t trust you yet.”

“Understandable,” he said as he took up her bags. “I have been an ass.”

“Agreed,” Selena said which earned her a tickle as he dropped the bags on the ground to do so.

“You agree?” He asked playfully as he ruffled her hair and poked her about.

“Okay, you were a gentleman the entire time,” she conceded.

“Thank you,” he said as he grinned and did a victory dance before taking up the bags again. And once more, Selena could see how easily a girl could fall for a man like Ethan. His boyish charm was unmistakable and utterly undeniable and irresistible. But it wasn’t as if she was trying to escape it either.

“All aboard the Opal,” Mitch said as the two climbed on.

“Hi Mitch,” Selena smiled at the old sea captain and extended member of Ethan’s family.

“I see we have some company,” he grinned as he eyed her stomach.

“Oh,” Selena blushed. “I think we do.”

“Good job, lad,” he said as he patted Ethan on the back. “I like this one.”

Selena didn’t quite hear the last part of what Mitch said, but she knew it was enough to get Ethan to blush as well as he raked his hand through his hair. “He really likes you,” he told her as he laughed and scooped her up in his arms. “Now what shall we do with this imp?”

“I suggest you let the imp stand before she hurls on you,” she said as her face slowly turned green. Ethan quickly set her down on the deck. “You aren’t normally seasick,” he observed.

“I’m not normally pregnant either,” she told him as she walked over to the rails and held her head overboard just in case something did decide to try and escape her oral cavity.

“Maybe we should go downstairs where it won’t feel like you are moving,” he told her as he took her hand in his.

“Good idea, and to think we have barely begun to move.”

Ethan led her slowly down the narrow steps and into the cabin below. It did seem like a regular room, and soon Selena’s stomach began to settle. He gave her some saltine crackers to munch on as well to aid the process along. “How did you know about this?” She asked him while holding up the stack of crackers.

“I used to have motion sickness a lot in my earlier years of travelling. I was told to by my mother, and I found that it worked. Somewhere along the way, I outgrew it and I am thankful for it.”

“It does help tremendously,” she agreed. “So will I have to spend the rest of the trip down here?” She asked sadly. “I was really looking forward to sunbathing on the upper deck.  I brought all my amenities for the occasion,” she ended with a pout.

“Well, I had planned to circle the quay, but maybe we can just dock at the beach house and then you can sunbathe all you like on the shore. How does that sound?”

“Not so bad, Mr. Bloomfield,” she said teasingly.

“Please,” he said as he leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on her parched lips, “Ethan sounds sexier when you say it.”

“Is that a fact, Ethan?” She asked as she played along.

“It is,” he said as he slid his tongue inside her mouth and played with hers. Selena rested against the softness of the pillows, and as the Opal moved onto open water, she could hardly feel it. So engrossed were they with each other, their hands sliding and dipping in unexposed places, they failed to hear Mitch come up behind them.

“Harrumph,” he said as he cleared his throat. “Pardon me, sir,” he said, “but I was calling, and I didn’t get an answer.”

Ethan got up, and Selena straightened her clothes. “That’s alright Mitch; she has a way of absorbing all the sound in the room.”

“I can imagine,” he grinned. “Now sir, what is the course we will be taking today? You didn’t confirm earlier, and we are just drifting now.”

“My apologies, but I had wanted to just take a tour of the isles. It seems that won’t happen as Selena is not doing so well on water this time. We will just go straight to the beach house instead and dock there until tomorrow.”

“Very well, sir,” the old man said as he closed the door this time and walked away.

“I can’t believe you left the door open,” Selena said in mock anger. “What if we were naked?”

“Then he would have seen the loveliest naked woman I know,” he grinned. “And seeing as he won’t be coming back, being naked does seem to have a strange appeal now.”

She could see the mischief in his eyes, and as much as she kicked, he managed to strip her effortlessly. “Hold still, madam,” he said to her. “I have business to attend to.” Ethan wasted no time on foreplay, lest she should fall asleep or grow sick again. He needed to feel her on him, and as his flannel trousers fell to the deck, he parted her legs and guided his eager member into her already wet passage, mopping up her juices as he did. Selena arched her back as she received him, and as Mitch changed course and the yacht turned, rocking the vessel as he did, they ebbed and flowed like the tide on which they rode.

Ethan gripped Selena’s hips as he held her steady amidst the movements, and she curled her legs around him for added support. He filled her inside and buried his cock deep into her, and she moaned loudly, singing a whale song, as he stroked hard and fast. Soon his breathing intensified, and he lost control as he continued on his torturous path. Selena reached out and pinched his nipples red; that was all he needed to fall off the cliff as he ejaculated inside her, filling her with more of his love.

He fell next to her like a capsized boat, and together they lay in each other’s arms as they journeyed to paradise and the life they had always wanted, but were afraid they never deserved.
