“Because I
want to be the one to help you.”

“Why is that
so important to you?”

“It just is.
Will you agree to it?”

My cock is
first in line to offer its approval, despite the recent workout it had and my
stomach churns in anxious excitement. But my mind has other plans. I have to
tell him no. I need to find the words to explain, because there’s just no way.

I part my lips
to try…”Yes.”

The word is a
whisper and it’s out of my lips before my mind even realises.

Acknowledgements

To the blogs
who work tirelessly to share the books they love, thank you. You put so much
energy and passion into making sure people hear about our work and I appreciate
it so much. I can’t put into words how it feels when you discover MY books and
tell people about them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Jen, the blurb
did not come at the cost of a river of my tears this time, because you are
omnipresent. You make me a better writer. Mainly because I don’t want to cry again,
so I work really, REALLY hard! You are a ball-buster, but you are my
ball-buster. Plus I know secretly you like that rep. I will fill your box with
dirty things in thanks.

Hetti, I
couldn’t throw this at many people in my real world and not expect a single
question. It makes me laugh that you just shrug and get to work. Thank you for
doing a great job!

Mandi, I
promise you can teach me about commas next time, I’ll factor it into my schedule.
Thank you for the last minute checks and for considering chocolate a currency.

The betas who
worked on this project at various stages, thank you for catching this curveball
I threw you. This was new territory for me and for some of you too. I appreciate
you sticking with it and keeping an open mind. And thank you for keeping the
secret. Thank you for all that you do.

And to the ‘more
than betas’ the plotters, the planners, the sounding boards and frankly, the
reasons for my sanity:

Kel, Jen and
Jojo, you read again and again, you are always there to throw an idea at and
aren’t afraid to throw some honesty back. I love you for that. Thank you for
your constant encouragement and the laughs.

Gray, what
can I say? Thanks for getting it.
All of it.
I’m so very glad I found
you.

And to Pet
and Pup, THIS IS BECAUSE OF YOU.

I could go on
and on, but I said it all in the last book. I love you dearly, that is all that
really needs to be said. But I will say that it’s because of you that this
story came to be. I loved the characters you created and you wanted to include
me your world. Of course, I was a stubborn arse about it, but Pet knows how to
play me and inevitably my stubbornness worked against me. Thank you for forcing
me into the mind of a character who would not leave me alone. Who has stayed
with me for such a long time that his own story had to be told. Who I love,
maybe best of all, and who inevitably is more me than any of my characters ever
have been. You gave Maxi to me with a few simple words and a challenge and I
thank you again and always for being you.

And to you,
yes you…thank you for reading! It means the bloody world x
