anakha

dya
, in which he rejects the

(means of knowing) system as a way of gaining knowledge. To refute his opponents—he employed the

method of argument which refutes a thesis (
pratijñ
) by
reductio ad absurdum
, but offers no positive counter-thesis. This parallels the
prasa
ga
method of the Buddhist
Nag
rjuna
.
