“Thank you. You didn’t have to do that you know…” She started but he pressed his index finger to her lips gently to quiet her.

“I love you and want to take care of you, end of discussion.”

“Fine, I need to pee.” Gwen got up and left for the bathroom.

The conversation for the evening ebbed between pain medication and their plans for the week. Gwen had to talk to another psychologist before she would be allowed to return to work, she also had to fill out all the forms from the warden. On Thursday evening he had called to check on how she was doing, they had a pleasant conversation until Gwen had revealed the entire past. The warden was upset that Gwen didn’t tell him earlier, he had choice words for her about the stupidity that showed and how badly she could have been hurt. He finally pressed the wrong button and Gwen began to yell.

“God damn it Scott you need to lay off of me, I made a mistake but I didn’t even know until after a few sessions.”

“That doesn’t excuse the dangers you put yourself in by continuing to see him afterwards.”

“I still wasn’t sure after I knew, I also didn’t want talk to start.”

“Well too late for that Gwen I’ve had to come out and shut the gossip hens up since you and Torrian have both been gone, there’s been rumor of Vegas between you two and that you fucked the inmate in your office so we have to investigate completely.”

“What?” Gwen was turning red in anger.

“Yeah board needs me to do a full check on you and all your clients.”

“But you can’t trust them they’re in jail for one reason or another.”

“I also have to give you a polygraph about the incident and other questions that pertain to it.” The warden sounded angry that he even had to do this, his anger was not near half of what Gwen’s was, her entire career was being called into question.

“Scott you know I didn’t do anything to lead him on that would tank my career.” Her voice sounded pained.

“I know Gwen, just have to cover our asses as well as yours, tell hot head that he isn’t allowed to deal with McQueen any longer, since you two have finally gone public and of course he’s protective over you before I can’t have him losing his shit with McQueen and doing something that could land him in the general population with the other animals.”

“Understood warden. My head is starting to hurt.” She lied to get herself off of the phone.

“Jaw still in bad condition?”

“Mmhm” She wanted to commit to her role and get off the phone, the conversation was pushing her limits.

“Have a good evening Gwen, call me or email me if you need anything, you know you’re like family to us. My girls even made you get well soon cards.”

“So sweet…” She trailed off, Torrian had sat down beside her with tea, and Gwen had gotten him addicted to it in their time off.

“Goodnight Gwen, remember we’re here for you too.” The warden’s tone softened before he hung up.

“Goodbye” She said, she was unsure if Scott had heard it but she dropped her phone onto the coffee table and curled onto Torrian’s chest.

Torrian’s arms wrapped around her and held her close, she was enveloped in his strong scent. The bruises were still highly visible but they were finally fading. Torrian’s lips gently pressed to each inch of each one. She felt worshipped even though he treated her as glass.  The next day was Friday and her bruises were visible. Gwen debated about canceling dinner with her parents and feign that she was sick but they were expecting her, and they simply adored Torrian, before she knew it she had her hair down and it was Friday evening, the curves of the interstate flying beneath the tires of her Lexus, Torrian enjoyed driving her car sometimes, it was more forgiving for any soreness she still had, he was still worried about every move she made. His hair was soon going to be as gray if not grayer than his eyes if he didn’t stop it.

Gwen texted her mom and told her there was a scrape with a patient of hers, that he had become over emotional and she had gotten too close and had a few bruises, she wanted to warn her mother about the visible damage to her face, her nipple and psyche did not need to be known to her mom. She was embarrassed enough the doctor checked the stitches earlier. She didn’t want her parents to become as obsessed with her recovery as Torrian had. She honestly just wanted to be left alone so she could cry, process, and return to her normal life which all could have been done in a day as far as she was concerned.

Torrian parked her car in the normal spot then rushed to Gwen’s side before she could open the door herself, she rolled her eyes at him as he helped her out.

“Torrian I am not made of glass.”

“It’s not because you’re glass, it’s because I want to be a gentleman.”

Gwen hadn’t thought about that part, she just assumed some misplaced guilt had motivated him. She was slipping in her days off from the grind of the island. She looked up at Torrian and captured his face with her hand; she pulled his face to hers and kissed him with fire in her lips. His arms snaked around her and grabbed her buttocks, he hadn’t pressed her for any kind of sexual encounter even though she had dropped clues that she wanted it, she had even seen him standing at attention more than once but he still did nothing. His self-control was impressive, but she needed to feel him and know that she was still desired even if she had been somewhat tainted by Kody. He tried to pull back but her lips followed and her hips started to grind against his, immediately he was hard and he responded to her wild attempt at passion.

“Keep that up and I’m taking you to your room.” His voice was a seductive growl.

“Promise?” She teased.

“Always.” His voice was still husky.

“I see part of you has missed part of me.” Her smirk was triumphant.

“Yes, are you sure you’re well enough for that?”

Gwen groaned and took Torrian’s hand and pressed it to the heated area between her own legs. His eyes flared and she looked deadpan at him. “Does that answer your question?”

His own groan filled the air, his hand rhythmically stroked her and she was lost to stop him. They were outside of her parent’s house and she wanted nothing more than to find somewhere private and rip his clothes off and show him exactly how much her sex had missed his. She was starving for his touch.

“Never go so long without touching me again.” She warned.

“You were hurt Gwen I couldn’t do that to you.” He started.

“I was more hurt you didn’t want me.”

He pressed her to the wall interrupting her midsentence. He swiveled his hips hard against hers. “You think I didn’t want to take you and make love to you over and over till you came so much you forgot your own name?”

She stammered incoherently.

“I want you Gwen, it has been impossible to keep my hands to myself but I have because you were nearly raped and I didn’t want to add to that. Tonight I will take you however you want, however you can handle it and if you want me to stop then tell me to stop, understand?”

“Now?”

“No, your parents are probably wondering what is taking us so long to walk from the car to the house.”

“Damn it.” Gwen whimpered her libido was through the roof.

Torrian’s encounter with Gwen only had him needing more. He was going to have her and the anticipation was killing him more than trying to keep his hands off of her. She had wanted him all this week and he had been denying her for her own good but in reality it did neither of them any good to deny each other. He could already see how he was going to have her when they were alone. He really wished he had let her call off the dinner tonight he would be deep within her at this very instant if she had. He may have shown restraint this week, but tonight was his undoing. Torrian released Gwen from the wall, they both stared at each other and he adjusted himself so he wasn’t showing a flagpole when he walked into her parent’s home. They walked to the door with electricity humming between them and rang the doorbell.

Marie opened the door with a glass of wine in hand and a smile on her face. “Finally! You two stop for a make-out session or get lost on the way to the door?” She teased.

She dropped her glass of wine when she took in her daughter’s face. It was worse than Gwen let on, she expected worse, but what she saw was even worse than she expected. Gwen was too strong for her own good, just like her father. Steven and Gwen were both amazing psychologists but they refused to talk about their own weaknesses. Marie stepped over the glass shards and pulled her daughter close sobs already in her chest. “Who did this to you? What happened baby girl?

“Mom I’m fine I swear, just a scrape with an inmate.” Gwen was telling half-truths.

“It doesn’t look fine, looks like you got in a fight with a boxer.”

“He used to be.” Gwen said simply.

“Honey come in, mind the glass.” Marie looped her arm with Gwen’s.

“Torrian darling can you go talk to Steven in the study. Let him know you two have arrived.” Marie gave Torrian a look that meant business; he was to tell Steven what happened and the extent of the damage so he wasn’t shocked when he saw as she was.

“Yes Marie.” Torrian used his long legs to his advantage and hightailed it to the study.

Marie waited till Torrian was out of earshot then spoke to Gwen. “What really happened?”

“Mom I got into with a patient he hit me case closed. I’m fine.”

“You can tell us anything baby girl.”

“I know mom, just not right now okay?” Gwen was already exasperated.

“Since that subject is apparently closed with you, how is Torrian? He is a delicious hunk of man meat.”

“MOTHER!” Gwen tried to sound chastising towards her mother but could only laugh.

“What? He is darling, when am I going to get a grandbaby?”

“When he asks me to marry him, we’re married, and have been for a while you can have one.”

“Come help me cook, you need to learn the recipe for when I’m not around.”

“Oh mom.” Gwen’s foul mood faded as she went to the kitchen and started to help her mother fix dinner.

Torrian knocked on the study door before entering. He was nervous. Torrian had left Gwen to deal with her mother’s inquisition. He went and spent a while conversing the latest Mariners loss and how the football team was shaping up, each male had high expectations as always. The conversation slowed but Steven asked Torrian the question he was sure had to be burning beneath the surface all evening. “What really happened to our girl Torrian?”

Torrian let out a heavy sigh. “She was attacked by an inmate named Kody McQueen, he used to date her in college I guess, he is still obsessed with her and he attempted to rape her. She put up a hell of a fight, which looks like it pissed him off, and he hit her a lot. She knocked something off her desk I heard the crash and broke in, I tore him off of her and I wanted to kill him.”

Steven’s glare became glacial as he cursed. “That fucking prison is no place for her to be.”

Torrian had never heard Steven curse like that before, he sounded vicious. The need to protect his daughter took over. “Torrian, son I need you to talk to her. She needs to come to my practice. It is safer and she could work fewer hours and my practice could expand, she’d have her own clients and it is not a hand out for my practice. She’s earned it. Please just help me get her there. That prison is no place for a woman.”
