Hearts went red with anger. “It’s a good thing you’re the president’s daughter.”

“Or what?”

“Or I would kick your fucking ass!” Hearts growled.

Jenny slowly stood up. Hearts was quite a lot bigger than she was, but also at least twenty years older, too. “Don’t let that stop you from trying, you fucking bitch,” she muttered low and dangerous. She had never been in a fight before, but she knew how to handle herself and she would be
damned
if she would let Hearts push her around like she did the other women.

The other three women began to back away. “Come on, Hearts. Leave her alone. You don’t want to do this,” Sophie pleaded.

“I’ll go get Asher!” Rachel said as she began to turn.

“No!” Jenny barked. “This is between Hearts and I. No need to get the men involved. We can sort this out, isn’t that right?”

Hearts sucked on her teeth again. “No. I don’t think so. Not with witnesses. But someday, you’ll get yours.”

“That’s what I thought. All bark and no bite.” Jenny made a move to sit back down when Hearts pushed her hard and she stumbled and fell over the chair. The shove had surprised her, but she had landed unhurt. After the week she had, she was in the mood to kick somebody’s ass and Hearts would do just fine.

“Hearts! No!” Angel cried.

“No! It’s okay,” Jenny said as she got up and rolled her head and shoulders. “That what you want? To go right here? Then come on!” Sophie and Rachel each grabbed one of Hearts arms and held her.

“Let her go!” Jenny growled getting into her stance like her sensei had taught her. She had taken four years of jujitsu while in college, at her mother’s instance, advancing to the rank of purple belt, two steps below black. She was no expert, but she was pretty sure she could take this bitch.

Hearts shook off the two women’s restraining hands. “I’ve wanted to do this for months.”

“Then come get some.”

Hearts rushed her and Jenny stepped smoothly to the side and delivered a devastating spinning side kick to the gut that stopped Hearts cold. The woman went down with a gush of air as Jenny danced back. Her clothing was constricting her movements, her boots heavy and slowing her down. She was rusty, and her kick didn’t have the power it once did, but it had done the job. Heart struggled up from the floor gasping for breath.

“I’m going to kill you for that, you cunt,” Hearts gasped.

“Hearts! That’s enough!” Angel begged.

“Shut up!” Hearts sneered as she straightened. “You got lucky. Now I’m going to fuck you up.”

Jenny began to bounce on her toes again and flicked her fingers in a “come on” motion. Hearts went in fast, lunging away from Jenny’s as she began to wind up for another kick. Jenny recognized the feint, but it was too late to stop her motion and reset before Heart whipped out a hand and caught her shoulder. Hearts whipped the off-balance Jenny around, using her superior weight to drag her toward her. Hearts expected Jenny to fight the pull, but instead Jenny rushed into her, knocking her onto her heels. She tried to backpedal, but she wasn’t quick enough and began to fall, dragging Jenny down with her.

Jenny fell with the woman, using her weight to drive her down. They hit the floor between two of the chairs, Hearts taking the brunt of the impact. The moment Jenny felt her grip loosen from the fall, she rolled off Hearts, sliding over her back as the other woman tried to scramble to her feet. Jenny grabbed at Hearts arm, twisting it around, back and up, applying pressure until Hearts went limp.

“Give it up, Hearts, or I’ll break your fucking arm!”

“Fuck yo—” Hearts began, her voice fading into a gasp as Jenny applied a little more force.

“What was that?” Jenny asked, backing off on the pressure a little.

“Nothing! I give!” Hearts begged.

Jenny released her arm and stood up from her knees, freeing Hearts to move. Hearts rolled over, her eyes wet with tears as she worked her shoulder. Jenny stood and watched her a moment, not letting her guard down.

Hearts gasped once, a soft sobbing sound as she moved to her knees to rise slowly to her feet, but the moment she was up, she spun and charged into Jenny, taking her in a full tackle, driving Jenny back and into a chair. The two women went to the floor as the chair toppled over backwards as Hearts continued to drive into her.

Jenny whooshed as Hearts knocked the wind out of her, her legs hitting the chair causing her to sit down hard. They went down in a tangle as the chair flipped over, kicking and scrambling on the floor as they fought for advantage.

Hearts sneered into Jenny’s face as her hands closed around her throat. Jenny jerked her sideways, breaking her grip and then punched straight into Hearts throat. The punch was weak because of her position, but a punch to the throat doesn’t need a lot of power. Hearts gagged with the impact and her mouth fell open as she reared back, a hand going to her neck.

Jenny twisted hard to the right, dumping the woman off of her, and as the Hearts scrambled to get some distance, Jenny leapt onto her back, knocking her flat and took her in a chokehold, her right elbow tight around Hearts’ throat, her left hand locked on her wrist to draw the hold tight.

She hauled back on Hearts’ neck, tipping her head back hard. “Who’s fucked now, bitch?” Jenny whispered into Hearts ear as Hearts clawed at her arm, trying to break the hold. Jenny kept the pressure on, not hard enough to damage her, but slowly closing off her air. Hearts tried to twist and throw Jenny off, but Jenny had her and they both knew it.

“Give it up, Hearts,” Jenny hissed, tightening her hold a little more. Hearts pushed at the floor with her hands again, trying to tip Jenny off her back, but they flew back to Jenny’s arms, tugging frantically as Jenny tightened her grip even more. Jenny knew from experience that Hearts’ tits had to be hurting, pressed into the hard floor with Jenny’s own weight adding to the discomfort, but she didn’t care and Hearts was helpless in Jenny’s pin.

“What the fuck is going on here?” a voice roared. A moment later strong hands pulled Jenny from Hearts’ back.

Asher and her father were standing there, Asher’s hand on her elbow. Hearts got to her feet, coughing, then charged Jenny. Jenny prepared to receive Hearts’ attack, but Asher stepped between them and shoved Hearts back as if she weighed nothing.

“I asked what the fuck is going on here!” John roared again.

“Nothing,” Jenny spat, staring daggers at Hearts.

John whirled on his daughter. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Me?” Jenny shouted, her hands rising fast, palms up, in confusion and defiance. “Ask her!”

John spun to face Asher. “This is all your fault! What the fuck have you been telling her?”

“Calm down!” Asher snapped to John. “What’s this—” he began, looking at Hearts.

“Don’t you fucking tell me to calm down!” John roared again. “My goddamn daughter is down on the ground in a goddamn catfight! What the fuck, Asher? I trusted you and look what’s happened! This is all your fault and I will see you thrown out of the club for this!” John stood panting, his face red until it suddenly twisted and he went pale. He bent slightly, his face twisting even more and he grabbed at his chest, groaning in pain.

“Daddy!” Jenny cried, her anger gone in an instant.

John fumbled at his neck for the container that contained his nitro pills, but he groaned again, taking a step for a chair before falling to one knee. Jenny grabbed the thin chain that held the pill container and jerked it over his head as he went the rest of the way to the floor. With shaking hands she fumbled the small silver cylinder, trying to get it open. She dumped the four pills into her hand then dropped the vial.

“Open!” she ordered as she dropped to the floor beside her dad and pulled at his lips, but his teeth were clasped tight against his pain. “Asher, help me!”

Asher dropped to his knees beside them and grabbed John by the face and tried to force his jaws open. “Open your fucking mouth!” he roared, trying to reach him through the pain. Asher felt John’s jaw relax and he pulled his mouth open. Jenny placed the pill under her father’s tongue and Asher snapped his jaws closed to hold it in place.

“Hang on, Daddy,” Jenny whimpered, holding his hand tight, her tongue sticking out slightly between her lips as she fought not to cry. It took almost a full minute, but gradually John began to relax and he started to breathe easier. He was pale and shaking slightly when she felt the tension drain out of him.

“Okay now?” she asked.

“No…but better,” he whispered.

“Help me get him to his room,” she ordered.

Asher helped John off the floor and to his feet, crouching down and getting one of John’s arms over his shoulder. “Come on, old man. Let’s get you settled in.”

“No!” John gasped, standing tall and shaking Asher off. “No. We have to finish this.”

“John, you are in no condition to ride,” Asher said.

“I have to.”

“Dad! You can’t!” Jenny begged, her worry and fear written large on her face.

“I have to,” John said, clearly enunciating each word. “For this to work, the Bucs and the Trifectas have to hear it from me.”

“But…” Jenny began.

“Jenny,” Asher said. “He’s right. This is how it has to be. I’ll watch him.”

Jenny stared at first Asher then her father and she could see the determination on both of their faces. “And if he crashes? He’s in no shape to ride. You said so yourself. Let them come here!”

“No! I have to go to them. It’s an honor thing. It shows I don’t hold our club above theirs, and it shows strength.”

“This is
stupid!”
she spat.

“This is how it has to be,” her father corrected. His color was returning and his voice was getting stronger. “Now, I don’t know what went on here, but when I get back, we are going to get this shit settled, understand?” When neither woman answered, John drew himself up straight and tall. “I said, do you understand?” he asked, his voice once again ringing with command.

“Yes, Dad,” Jenny said, backing down to not cause him any more distress.

“Yes, Boss,” Hearts said meekly.

John looked at both women, holding their eyes and letting them know he wasn’t going to forget about this, and then turned to Asher. “Let’s ride.”

The moment the door closed, Hearts turned on Jenny. “This isn’t over. Not by a long shot,” she snarled, but made no move toward her.

“Anytime you’re ready rumble, just name the time and place,” Jenny replied, then turned her back on Hearts and stomped to her father’s apartment without a backwards glance.

Jenny paced about in her father’s room, sick with worry and dread. Every time she heard the sound of an approaching bike, she would hurry to the door of the clubhouse, but for two hours, she was disappointed.

As she opened the door for the third time, she saw her dad slowly dismounting his motorcycle, Asher hovering near in case he needed help. She was shocked at her father’s appearance. He was stooped, pale, and moving with a shuffling gait so unlike his normal purposeful stride. She flung the door open the rest of the way and ran to him.

“Dad? You okay?”

“Yeah. Just tired is all,” he wheezed.

Her eyes flicked to Asher and he gave her a barely perceptible nod. “How’d it go?”

“Okay,” John said as they entered the clubhouse. “I need to sit down.”

“Here!” Jenny said, hurrying to a chair and turning it around for him.”
