The fog had already started to roll in when walked out to her car.  She felt a chill run down her spine as she looked for her keys in small tattered brown purse. She grabbed them and suddenly dropped them for some reason she felt panic inside. She looked around, the parking lot was deserted, and there really was no cause for her to be alarmed.

She bent down to pick up her keys when she heard footsteps coming up from behind her, it had to just be Marcus the bagger she thought. She then heard another set of footsteps, she felt the hair’s on the back of her neck stand straight up.  Her breathing was labored and she struggled with her keys to unlock her small beat up blue Mazda 323.

The steps were coming closer, and she knew she would need to act fast, she dug deep into her purse and her hand grasped at the small plastic can of mace. She pulled it out and had it in her hand; she spun around and then didn’t see anyone there. Her heart pounded hard and fast she didn’t know what to think, “Hello?”  She said.  Her voice was barely a whisper.

She was greeted with silence, the fog seemed to have gotten thicker, she couldn’t see beyond her own hand. The air felt thick and moist, she didn’t know what she could do, her mind went straight to using her round house kick her older brother taught her when she was twelve.

She wasn’t sure if she was even capable of doing such a move but it was all she had in her arsenal besides her mace. She turned back around to her car and unlocked the door; she climbed in and locked the doors. She took a deep breath; her heart was still pounding hard. “Okay silly, Cinnamon nothing to worry about, just the fog and people probably walking home from the bar,” She said allowed.

She opened turned the key in her car and it wouldn’t start, “Come on you piece of shit!” she yelled in vain at it.  She reached in purse for herself phone and realized it was at home, she had forgotten it this morning when she left for work.

“Shit,” she said aloud. She knew her only option was to walk back through the fog to the store and use the phone. She felt her palms sweat against the fake leather steering wheel.  “You’re being silly, come on lets go call triple AAA” She said with a smile trying to make herself not be afraid.

When she opened the car door, it slammed shut and startled her enough to scream. She peered out her window and she could only make out a few figures, they were all moving so quickly. She recognized on figure, 6’5 tall, dark and handsome,
why was Jake here?

Suddenly a body hit the hood of her car, it looked like a man, and he was bleeding, or was he? Cinnamon tried to duck down and yet kept her head up to see what was going on.  Did Jake just kill someone? Her hands started to shake uncontrollably Cinnamon tried her best to keep her calm.

It felt like an hour had past but it really was over in moments, and soon Jake was at her door, “It’s safe now,” he said. Her driver side window was open just a crack. Cinnamon didn’t dare open her door now, this man was a murder, and crazy.

“No, I’ve got mace stay back!” she yelled. She held out her mace and sprayed his face. It wasn’t mace in her hand but her emergency inhaler, she felt lame as Jake laughed.

“Cinnamon do I look like a crazy murder?” he asked.

“Wait, don’t answer that…” He said quickly.

“Listen, I promise I won’t hurt you, in fact I was protecting you,” he said.

Cinnamon still didn’t trust him, but having seen him move quicker than any man she had before she knew she had no hope of escape.

“I know this looks bad but trust me, we need to go come with me,” he ordered.  He quickly pulled her from the driver seat.  Cinnamon struggled at first but it became clear it was in vein. Jake was stronger, bigger and tougher than she was.

They came to a large motorcycle parked at the end of the lot.  It looked more like the motorcycle from batman that any Harley she was familiar with, this guy was clearly loaded.

“Here,” he said as he sat her on his large black and grey bike.  He pulled a helmet out of the compartment on the back of the bike.  He started to shove it on her head when she stopped him. “I’ve got it,” She fumed.

“What the fuck is all this about?” she said as she adjusted the helmet.

“No time to talk, just hold on tight,” he said.

Cinnamon looked over at her beat up car and saw the body was gone as they drove passed it.  Her heart raced, she had never felt this kind of thrill before it was almost intoxicating.  Her hands slid around his well-toned muscular waist.  They road down the coastline until they reached Florence, Oregon, a small hillbilly coastal, town known for hosting bikers.

As the bike purred to a stop in front of an old cabin, Cinnamon tried to calculate her means of escape.  It was obvious to her that this man was trouble and she had, had enough trouble to fill up a lifetime.

“Jake, what the fuck? You attack some guy probably kill him, pick me up and bring me here?” she said.  She looked at the abandoned cabin as if it was a shanty.

“Cinnamon, I will explain later, we need to get inside,” he said.  He walked his bike behind the cabin and put into park.  It struck her as odd that if this was his house why would he be hiding.

Once inside he sat down on the couch, he pulled at his leather jacket and unzipped it. She couldn’t help but stare as his tight t-shirt revealed every sculpted inch of his perfect abs.

“So that was weird,” he said as he stretched his legs out.

“Can I go home?” She asked.

“Nope,” he responded closing his eyes as if he was worn out from murdering and kidnapping someone.

“What’s going to stop me from walking out this door,” she asked crossing her arms.

“Fine go ahead get killed,” he said waving his arm in the air.

“You seem to know a lot more about the situation than I do,” she said and started to turn towards the door. Before she could open it he was at her side, “I wouldn’t do that,” he said leaning against the door.  Cinnamon couldn’t help but take in his musky scent of leather and sweat, he smelled familiar she just couldn’t be sure of what.

“So what gang are you in?” she asked smirking at him.

“Fire Demons,” he said crossing his arms.

“Who sent you?” she asked rolling her eyes as he tried to give her a smoldering look.

“You should know,” he said shrugging.

“God Damn it, can’t ever live a normal life,” she cried out while throwing her arms in the air.

“Yeah, I bet it’s been rough for you,” he said in a sarcastic tone.

“It has actually, you try being the daughter of a gang leader sometime,” she moved out from under his leaning arm and stood back away from him.

“What’s he gotten himself into now,” she said in a droll voice.

“Well, he might have stepped on someone’s shoes when he stole over a million in meth from Big Ed,” he said crossing his arms.

“Wait who’s Big Ed,” she said.  She had spent more than two years away from the gang lifestyle having gotten involved in drugs when she was too young to understand.

“My dad,” he said with a shrug and a grin.

Cinnamon felt her heart drop. She was alone in a cabin with the enemy.

She quickly turned and tried to kick him with her right leg.  He caught her leg and knocked into her side. She moved swiftly avoiding falling on to the floor but she was too slow to block his hand from grabbing her left arm.

“I was hoping I wouldn’t have to use this stuff,” he said as he pulled both her hands together while he walked over to his bag from earlier today.  Her mind flashed to the XL Magnums and she felt a shiver run through her body.  When she imagined him using them with her this was not what she had in mind.

“Don’t freak out just going to tape you up so we can talk,” he said.

She realized what the familiar scent he had-- it was gun smoke.

“Now there we go,” he said as he threw her on to the couch.

The couch was old and sunk in when she was thrown on it, she could feel a spring poking her ass.

“Jake, if that’s your real name, what does Big Ed want?” she asked pointedly.

“What every man wants, a good beer, good woman and a good job,” his hand traced her chin when he said good woman.

“You know you’re a real spit fire,” he said with a mischievous grin.

“You look like you’re enjoying this a bit too much. What is this the first time you’ve been alone with a real woman,” she said lifting her leg up to try and kick him.  He quickly put a stop to that and tied her legs together with duct tape.

“You’re not making this fun,” he said frowning.

“Well, so I am going to go to bed, you can sleep here, don’t bother screaming or I will tape your mouth shut,” he said. His heavy boots clanked on the floor when he kicked them off.

“What about if I have to pee?” she asked.

“Do you need to now,” he said cocking his eyebrow.

“Yes,” she said trying to sit up.

“Damn it,” he said.

He reached into his jean pocket and pulled out his blade he cut her restraints off and held her tightly by the arm to the bathroom.

As she looked around the bathroom keeping the water running, she searched for anything that could be used against him. There was nothing but a toothbrush, her mind crossed turning it into a shank of some sort but she didn’t see any blades.

“Are you a drug dealer too?” she said calling out.

“No, I am a guard,” he called back.

She wasn’t sure if that was good news that he wasn’t that high ranking or that he was a guard for the gang.

“What does your father want with me,” She called out.

“I don’t know actually,” he said.  She rolled her eyes and finished her business.

“If you swear not to hurt me, I will stay without trying to escape,” she said crossing her heart.

“Hmm yeah how about no, I don’t trust most women, especially curvaceous ones like you,” he said as he grabbed her arms pulling them together.

“What me? I am just an innocent girl working hard,” she said sweetly.

“Innocent girl huh?” he scoffed.

Jake pulled her from the bathroom into the living room.  Cinnamon could smell his aftershave and leather as he sat her down on chair in the middle of the room.

Cinnamon threw back her head a little and tried to straighten herself as he taped her arms together.

“The least you could have done is take me somewhere other than this shack,” she said.

“This shack is my home,” he said through his clenched teeth.

“Oh is it? I didn’t mean that, it’s very um charming,” she said quickly.

“Yeah,” he said.

“No really it’s got that rustic cozy old man country feel,” she said smirking.  She knew she would hit a few buttons with that.

“Trying to call me old?” he said.

“Well distinguished, I do like older men,” she batted her eyes.

“I am not much older than you,” he said cocking one eyebrow.

“How do you know how old I am?” she said.

“It’s a skill I have,” he said.

“Charming, I wonder what other skills you posses,” she scoffed.

“I think women enjoy a man that can be genuine,” he said.

“A big cock always helps,” she smirked as she watched his face. Jake looked like he was holding back a laugh.

“You know you are starting to get under my skin, maybe I should just put a nice little piece right here,” he said holding the tape in one hand while the other traced over her lips.

Cinnamon lashed out trying to bite him.

“Yup,” he said as he tore off a piece of duck tape with his white teeth. As he came close to her mouth, he leaned closely inwards.  Cinnamon could smell his leather, and aftershave she felt the tension building between them as he lingered close to her mouth.  He hovered for a moment and then pulled away slapping the grey duct tape over her lips.

She tried to protest through but it was muffled by the tape and if looks could kill Jake Carlyle would be dead already.
