“I am sure you are right. My suggestion is to be as honest as possible with her, otherwise she will go behind your back and do it anyway. I will do whatever you want me to Ryan. If you don’t want her involved, she won’t be.”

“Oh thanks, my decision, she is going to love that.”

“There are jobs that don’t require her to carry a gun.” He says, encouraging me to consider the possibilities. “Give her something Ryan, and then you keep her from getting involved in other areas.” Nick smiles and leaves me to deal with Sam on my own.

As if she knows Nick’s decision, she comes to bed later that night with an outfit that I have never seen before. “You’ve been shopping with Kayla?” I ask her and she nods. “Well isn’t that …” She finds me and with a touch of her hand I become unwound. “Baby, I cannot move all that well right now.” I gasp.

“Don’t worry about it, I got this time.” She says sitting up and releasing her breasts from their lacy restraints. I breathe heavily against them and have no problem lying back and letting her do incredibly dirty things to me. My dick is hard as hell when Sam feels her way to it, stroking it softly with incredible touches of her tongue.

“So you have been spending time with Kayla …
oh
… that is so nice.” I say, gasping with my erection deep in her mouth. With a bite of her bottom lip, Sam sits on top of me, eases to the tip of my erection and back down again, getting wetter with every rise and fall of her body. Her ass fills my hands and I squeeze, wanting to encourage her more. “Baby you are so sexy right now.” Guiding her, I move her a little further in the right direction and begin using my fingers to influence her enjoyment even more. A large smile comes across my face as I send her into a climax that causes her head to drop back with an orgasmic moan I have never heard from her before. She thinks I can’t do anything in these casts, but I can still lift her with one arm, and enjoy this for all I can, making sure I have mine too. Hard and strong I come while expressing my satisfaction against her cheek. “You can initiate that whenever you want. How are you feeling, baby?” When she doesn’t answer me, I lean back to look at her face and she simply nods, still gasping for breath. Kissing her, I cradle her closer to me. “I tell you what, you can help Nick some but nothing dangerous. You can help spy or something similar but that’s it. I am not going to risk losing this, and I certainly can’t have my wife running around in danger all the time. Do you want me to be yelling and scary all the time like Nick? He used to be a much calmer, more charming man before Kayla. I like being the charming, sexy one in the family, Sam. Don’t marry me and make me just be the sexy one. I love you Sam, don’t you love me enough not to do that to me?” Sam touches my face and smiles once she feels my smile. Screaming for joy, she jumps on me. “Ow! Baby please, I know you’re excited but I am still hurt here.”

“I love you, Ryan.” She says, accepting my proposal with glee.

Chapter 41

~Brady~

My newfound celebrity status has forced my superiors to take me off probation. It is nice to be back to work, but a few that are suspiciously quiet are standing out to me more and more. The list the prick gave me is still shoved deep into my pocket where I put it this morning. The thought of checking these men out is not something I want to do. I want to recruit help, but I don’t know whom I can trust. My job has suddenly become lonely and distant from what it used to be. No more clear-cut good guys and bad guys. It used to be much easier for me to distinguish, now it seems those lines are blurred. Blurred to ridiculous measures. I also didn’t use to be in love with my biggest enemy’s sister. Waking up in the morning in a mansion and being asked what I would like prepared for my breakfast by a man making notes of my daily needs is – well I could get use to that. What I can’t get use to is eating my breakfast with Jayzon sitting across from me.
Jayzon
- damn I hate that guy.

Pulling Jayzon’s list out of my pocket, I start with person number one and find him easy to get to. The fat lazy bastard is sound asleep with drool hanging out of his mouth. A quick swipe of his shoulder and I have what I need – I need to remember to shower heavily at the end of this day.

The second name on the list is a little trickier, but I manage to take his towel from the locker room along with persons three through five. The sixth smokes, the seventh has an addiction to coffee and never uses the same cup twice. The eight person, thankfully, throws a used napkin at me, on accident he said. The ninth follows him by accidentally spitting on me. Really hoping it is one of those two.

The final person on the list is my superior, Clay Rogers. A man I have long admired but now I have to assume he is my enemy. When he calls me into his office to talk about my return to duty, I can’t help think back about all the poker games I attended at his house – his richly decorated house. Or the time he gave me a ride home after my car broke down – in his new, fully loaded car. Although right now, I can’t help but stare at his expensive shoes and rich suit he is wearing.
Damn, how much does his job pay?

“Brady Simone, it is good to have you back my friend. I hope there are no hard feelings about your probation?” Rogers says to me with a forced sincerity.

“No sir, I am just ready to get back to work. So when can I get back to work? I have been sitting here all-day twiddling my thumbs.” I say with a tone of frustration.

“It’s your first day back let’s give it some time. Besides, we can’t have our hero put into any unnecessary danger.” He laughs, but for some reason the joke feels more like a threat. “I think for now you are doing fine as our departments’ poster boy.” Sitting back in his chair with a grin, Rogers lets it be known that he still has the upper hand on me, or so he thinks.

“Okay sir, if that’s what I have to do, then that’s what I have to do.” I stand up and hold my hand out for him to shake and he follows only I pull my hand back and punch him in the nose. His blood splatters all over my shirt before I walk out and end my day.

Lena smiles up at me as soon as I walk into the morgue, “Hi baby.” I say with a solemn expression.

“Brady what happen to you sweetheart? Is this your blood?” She asks, grabbing hold of my shirt and looking me over for any signs of injury.

“Nope, my boss. I punched him in the face.” Her shocked expression is to be expected but thankfully she doesn’t ask. I slowly remove my shirt and throw it in the bag with the others, “go ahead and label this one Rogers, I labeled the others for you.”

“You got them all – already?” Lena asks me still checking me over for any injury.

“I haven’t had anything else to do all-day. I miss Nicky, at least he wouldn’t throw things at me or spit on me, he did drool sometimes but not on purpose. I can’t believe it Lena, I have never seen so many corrupt cops in one place before, and the ringleader is my own boss.”

“I am sorry baby but I think you never wanted to see it. So I assume you are back on probation.” She asks.

I laugh, “No, they can’t put the hero on probation again, it would look too suspicious. I wish I had known that before I punched him. I would have gotten in an extra jab to make myself feel better.” Lena laughs, nudging me until I finally smile. “So did you get what you needed to from the body?”

“Yes. Parts of his clothing were singed but there is no way that body was anywhere near that explosion when it happened. It had to be placed after. I think I found some hairs too, and the craziest part of all this is, they sewed him up with the bullet that killed him …” She holds up a container holding a single bullet, “still inside him. They must be real sure of themselves if they never bothered to hide this evidence.”

Taking the container from her I look it over in shock, “Unbelievable. Cocky sons of bitches aren’t they? Well this should tell us something, right?”

“Yes and if any of them touched him or even dripped sweat on him, with what you brought me I should be able to pinpoint the killer or more than likely
killers
, easily. Are you going home for the day?” I shake my head and kiss her once more before I leave again. “Brady? Where are you going to go now?”

“Pomelroy is investigating a triple homicide. I thought I would go lend him a hand. Might as well be useful to someone.”

“You can be useful to me.” She smiles.

“Sorry baby, I need to work out some frustration, but save that frisky attitude for later.” I leave her with a kiss that should encourage a good night for me.

The scene is a disaster. I assumed three bodies, but I count more than that. Some of the bodies seem too small to be an adult. I hope they are covering evidence but one look and I see a child’s little hand. “You made it. I was starting to wonder if you were all talk about helping out.” Pomelroy says from behind me.

“It took me a little longer to get out, especially after I punched Rogers in the face.” I confess, enjoying his shocked expression.

“You did what?” He asks with his jaw still on the floor.

“I am sure it is probably best you don’t ask, but I promise to tell you one day. I thought this was a triple homicide I count at least seven bodies here?”

“There are ten, actually. There are three more upstairs. Two male, five female and three children, age seven or younger. This was a massacre, a blatant destroy and purge. The women are all fairly young, all foreign and all were beaten into submission. This house was a center for prostitution. The children, I assume, are the girls’ who got pregnant on the job. I don’t even want to think about why they never got rid of them.”

“Who would do this? Why would they do this?” I ask, trembling at the sight of such innocence lost.

“The Baron, has to be. We were closing in on this place so he destroyed it all and any evidence that could point to him. He must have used the services himself. According to the bed setup there is one child missing. We assume from the evidence we recovered, that the missing child was his.” He pauses with a long, deep sigh. “Take a look around, let me know if you find anything. I have to go question the neighbors so they can tell me they didn’t see anything.”

The sickening sight throughout the house is heartbreaking and makes me even more determined to find out who this sick freak is. We only know him by
The Baron
. We haven’t been able to get much more out of people. He comes and goes and we don’t ever know until it is too late. Walking through another room where the furniture has all been removed as evidence, I feel a strange creak in the floor. The wooden floor creaks much the same until you reach this one spot. Crouching down I study the area carefully until I see the crack. Taking out my knife, I lift the edges and find the private hole in the floor to contain mostly personal photos of one of the girls. At least we can inform one family about their missing daughter. Pulling out all the photos I find some letters in the back and a chain with the golden carved initials J.E. hanging from its center. The chain is solid and the initials contain diamonds, which I assume are real. She must have hoped to get away with this and pay for her way back home. Before I can finish searching, Jayzon texts me that they have business to talk about tonight so he would appreciate it if I would find something to occupy myself for a few hours.
Jackass.
Like I don’t know what he is doing, I am supposed to wander that house blindly and pretend he isn’t going after Estrella.
Estrella? Joseph Estrella.
Holding up the long chain I realize the possible connection and quickly bag the evidence before searching through the rest to try to confirm my suspicions. Before I can finish I hear people approaching so I quickly close up the hole and pocket the evidence for later.

Chapter 42

~Nick~

We have been pushed to our limits and managed to survive. Now it’s time to see what Estrella is made of. Kayla stands at my side as I prepare everyone for the battle against Estrella. We plan a decoy attack to battle long enough, so our main assault can setup properly. Estrella will probably assume he has won once I call the attack off, but the moment he believes he has won is the moment he will lose. I have grown tired of the constant small battles. Instead of cutting off pieces of the snake a little at a time I have decided that we are going after the head while he is distracted by the smaller prize. Estrella will be celebrating his victory over us and will believe he has successfully shown his muscles enough to scare us but then - the real attack will begin.
