Save who?” Spencer asked with a confused
look.

“
Save Adam. What? You don’t know? Adam’s
matrix was failing so they were in the process of creating a
temporary fix, then I got into some trouble.”

Spencer interrupted, “You got in some trouble? Over
what?”

“
It’s a long story. One you
probably won’t believe, or maybe you will. Or maybe you already
know. I don’t know, so much has happened.”

“
You’re right, a lot has
happened. We need to sit down and discuss everything, but first I
need to know one thing?” said Spencer in a worried tone.

“
What’s that?”

“
Where in the world is my
daughter?”

As Spencer spoke the words, Jade
descended from the spiral staircase and asked, “Dad, is that really
you?”
