“Oh, yes,” she breathed. Madison hadn’t known a spot like this existed so close to Austin. “You have an incredible home. I wouldn’t blame you if you never left it.”

Micah thought about what she said. With everything he had going on, he spent less time at the ranch every year it seemed. One reason–he was lonely. “Are you getting hungry?”

“Yes, a little,” she admitted. She looked forward to what awaited them…that anticipation he spoke of. But it wasn’t just the meal, she was more anxious to know what might come after.

“Good. Me too.” He turned the horse around and they headed back to his home. “Have you heard from your mother lately?”

Madison shook her head as she answered. “No, not in a couple of days. I’m sure I will soon, though. I love my mom, but I can always count on her and Rudy turning up again just like a bad penny.”

“You remember what I told you about calling me if you needed me–right?” He questioned her as they passed through a grove of pecan trees, the ranch house coming into view.

“Yes, I remember.” His offer warmed her heart, but it also made her a bit uncomfortable.

“Good. Let’s go get something to eat. I’m really look forward to dessert.”

“I brought cookies, but you might have something better in mind.”

“Oh, I do.” He stole another kiss from the side of her neck, nuzzling a bit. “I’m having something super sweet–you.”

Things heat up…and it’s not in the kitchen

The food was delicious and Micah was charming. Madison did her best to focus on the present…but she was having a hard time waiting on the dessert Micah mentioned. “More?” Micah held up the salad bowl.

“No, I’m fu…oh my goodness!” She jumped a half foot out of her chair. “What was that?” Something had touched her under the table…something furry.

“It’s okay…it’s okay.” Micah placed a calming hand on her shoulder. “It’s just Thunderpunch, my cat. Don’t worry about him, he’s a jerk.” He bent over and when he raised up, he was holding a small calico cat. “Aren’t you, you little jerk?”

“Micah,” Madison scolded. “Don’t talk to him that way.”

“What? He knows he’s a jerk. Don’t you, you little jerk?” Thunderpunch gave his master a head-bump. “Yes, you are. My little jerk buddy. He’s been outside hunting; I guess whatever he caught didn’t appease his appetite.” He nuzzled the cat who began to purr louder. “Isn’t that right, jerk?”

Madison felt a tug at her heart. “You’re so sweet.”

“Yes, he is.” He took some bites of meat off his plate and put them on a napkin, placing the cat and the food on the floor.

“Oh, I’m sure he is,” Madison agreed. “But I wasn’t talking about him.” The sight of this big, powerful man being kind to a small animal just did something to her. “I was talking about you.”

He gave her a wicked little grin. “You ready for some cookies or pudding?”

She held up her hands. “A little later? I’m pretty stuffed.”

“Sounds good to me.” As Thunderpunch ate, they carried their dishes to the sink and she helped him put them in the dishwasher. “What are you plans for next week?”

Thinking he might be trying to make plans with her, she was honest. “I have work every day, of course. I also need to start the process to find another job. Tuesdays nights are always reserved for the nursing home; I do a little volunteer work there. Other than that…” she let her voice trail off, hoping he would jump in and ask her out on another date.

“You volunteer at a nursing home? How nice. My grandparents died when I was so small, I don’t remember them.”

“I had my mother’s mother until I was six,” Madison reminisced. “I always think if she’d lived, Sunny wouldn’t have gotten involved with Rudy…or at least I would’ve had a place to go when things got rough.”

Micah took her in his arms. “I wish I’d known you back then, I would’ve come to your defense with my baseball bat.”

The idea made her smile, but then he kissed her on the head and shared his plans. “I wish I knew what this week will hold for me. I can’t make any definite plans. My Tuesday is booked too–I have a party to attend.”

A party? Madison felt a wave of jealousy rise in her middle. “Oh, really?”

“Yea, a two-year old’s birthday party. You ought to see what I plan to wear.” He twisted her hair around his fist, stealing a kiss. As they talked, Micah herded her toward the couch.

“Send me a photo in a text.”

“You can count on it, Fellows. I think we should officially graduate from texting to sexting.”

The sensual tone he was using gave her chills and she felt her nipples swell and rasp against the lace of her bra. “I’m not sure I’d be any good at that, but I’d like to try.”

“Sit close,” Micah tugged her down next to him. “Want to watch a movie or do you want to neck?”

“Can we do both?” Madison squeaked as her body collided with his on the soft blue cushion.

“Greedy.” With one arm around her back, he turned her curvy little body toward his. “I like that, it’s my policy to grab onto all that life offers.” Picking up her hand, he brought it to his lips and kissed the palm. “Action film or comedy?”

Madison shivered. “I don’t care.” She stared into his gorgeous hazel eyes. “I don’t think I’m going to be able to concentrate…on anything but you.”

“Good answer, Fellows.” Cupping the side of her face, he claimed her mouth, making her lips tingle with the brush of his tongue, causing her breath to catch when he sucked her lower lip into his mouth.

“You’re seducing me,” she moaned.

“I’m tempting you,” he whispered as he slanted his lips across hers, his tongue pushed inside with a sensual thrust that had her shaking with expectancy before coming to rest in a lazy curl against her own. For long minutes they kissed, Madison sating her need to touch him by running her fingers through his hair and caressing the back of his neck and his shoulders.

“God, you’re sweet,” Micah breathed. “Turn this way, I need to get my hands on you.” Madison was malleable in his grasp, allowing him to arrange her to suit his needs. She found herself lying back against his big body, reclining between his legs, his arms encircling her. “Help me get this off.” He tugged on the bottom of her sweater and she held her arms up as he pulled it up and over her head.

“I’m nervous,” she admitted softly. The amount of sexual experience she had wouldn’t fill a teaspoon compared to this worldly man.

Micah hesitated momentarily. “No need, I only want to give us pleasure.” He kissed her temple, feathering the soft hair there with his breath. “Have you ever been with a man, Madison?”

“Not really, no,” she muttered.

Chuckling, Micah ran his fingers over the top swell of her breasts, tickling gently. “I’m not sure what that means.”

“I don’t have much experience,” was all she had the courage to say.

“Well, what if we take it slow and sweet, just play today.”

“Sounds good.” Her breath hitched as he slid his hands behind her back.

“Can I take this off?” He flicked the hook of her bra which seemed to come open a lot easier for him that it ever had for her.

“Yes,” she managed to utter the word like a small peep. Before she could draw another breath, he had both of her breasts in his hands, molding their softness, testing their weight. “Oh, my God.” She closed her eyes and just let herself feel.

“Sweetheart, you are one sweet handful.” Micah lifted her breasts, fondling, loving their soft resiliency as he rubbed his way down to their soft peaks. “Damn, you’re pretty, so soft.”

Madison gasped, her body reacting to the pleasure he was giving her. She pressed back against him, arching her back and thrusting her breasts up. He took advantage and played with her nipples, exploring their texture, milking the tender tips. When they contracted to his touch, she whimpered and his cock hardened even more.

“Fuck, you’re responsive.” His moan puffed over her neck, his tongue sliding over the place where her pulse showed through the skin. He sucked at the tender spot, his lips blazing a trail to the curve of her shoulder. “You smell so damn good. Like sugar cookies.”

“Cookies! We left the cookies I made in your truck!”

She jumped in his arms, but he hugged her closer, smiling against her skin. “We’ll save them for later. I’m not hungry for cookies right now…I’d rather nibble on you.” She felt his teeth on the cord of her neck and Madison inhaled a gasp and shivered with excitement. “You’re delicious and so damn soft.” He nipped at her earlobe as his fingers began to massage her breasts.

Madison chewed on her lower lip, her whole body and soul focused on what his hands were doing to her. “You make me feel so good,” she moaned.

“How about this.” He picked up her scarf and dragged the material over the sensitive tips. “The moment I saw this around your neck, I kept picturing your little nipples peeking through the holes.” Micah pulled it tight until her nipples popped through two of the small openings, then he took hold of them between his fingers and rubbed them hard enough that Madison couldn’t be still. She wiggled in his arms, her pussy aching and throbbing.

The more she moved, the bigger his cock grew. “Oh, you’re going to be fun to play with. I bet I can make you cum just by sucking on your tits.” At his prompting, she turned in his arms until she was straddling his thighs. He dropped his head to her breast and filled his mouth with her nipple, suckling hard. As the tender tip rose to attention, he lashed it with his tongue, nibbling the hardness with his lips as he molded the soft globe to his liking.

“Micah,” she whispered, moving against him. She loved this, he could tell, so he gave her more, milking a response–demanding it. And
fuck, fuck, fuck
–did she give it to him in soft pants and small cries of pleasure. “I need more.”

More? “I’ll give you whatever you need.” He eased her to one side and started unzipping her jeans until there was room for him to get his hand down her panties. “Oh, fuck yeah.” She was hot and wet and so sweet to touch.

Madison inhaled and gasped as his fingers found her pussy. She wrapped a hand around his upper arm and clung, closing her eyes and letting herself sink into the miracle of being here with Micah like this. He rubbed up and down her slit, teasing her clit, then pushed a long, thick finger deep inside of her.

“Oh God, Micah!” she groaned as he massaged her, making her feel dizzy. All she could do was press against him, riding his hand, wanting more…more.

Micah kissed her mouth hungrily, glorying in her response to him. But the sweetest reaction came when she seemed to surrender to her passion, moving her hand to his lap–touching him–cupping him–molding his cock and rubbing him through his pants.

“Damn,” Micah growled as he found her clit and rubbed the sweet spot over and over. The giving and taking of mutual pleasure was punctuated by deep heated kisses until she stiffened and shook in his arms.

“Micah!” she cried–and as she came, so did he. God help him, Micah Albert Wolfe hid a grin. He’d not only lost control–he’d cum in his pants like a green boy. What was this woman doing to him?

CHAPTER SEVEN

Down in Juarez…

“This is the single craziest thing you’ve ever done and you’ve done too many in the short time I’ve known you.” Mateo stood with his arms folded, trying to stare down the small blonde woman who was dressed and ready to beard the lion in his den. “Why don’t you do as your son asked? Wait here for Noah and he’ll come after you. Let them handle everything.”

“My son will keep his word. I have no doubt. I’m sure he inherited his father’s heart.” She picked up her red mantilla and placed it over her head, hiding her hair. “But I have to do my part. Like I told him, I can get a job and I’ll learn more. What I find out will make their job destroying these vermin that much easier!”

“I’m going with you.” Mateo turned, searching for his wallet.

“No!” Sofia shouted. “You will stay here. I will not let you place yourself in danger.” She patted his cheek. “I don’t have one son. I have two.”

Mateo watched helplessly as Angel Rubio left on her mission of mercy.

Governor’s Mansion – Austin

Micah leaned on the wall in one of the doorways to the conservatory in the Governor’s mansion. “Well, Thunderbird, this sure is a mighty swell shindig.” He was dressed in a light gray suit with white shoes on his feet. Purple and orange striped socks peaked out from under the cuff of his pants and a tie sat loose around his neck. A gray fedora with a yellow feather tucked under the brim had replaced his usual Stetson or ball cap.

Kyle watched with pride from beside his dapper friend. “Better get used to it, buddy.” A cheer went up from the crowd as Paulo blew out the candles on his three-layer chocolate cake shaped like the bat cave. “One day this’ll be you.”

Micah scoffed openly. “Uh-huh.”

Kyle snapped a picture on his phone, a massive smile on his face. “You’ll see.”

This was baby Paulo’s second birthday party. Hannah had cleared all the furniture out of the state dining room at the governor’s mansion, even the mansion’s oldest piece of furniture, a stunning American Sheraton sideboard from seventeen-ninety. She’d decorated the mansion with pot after pot of pure white and lavender gloxinias for Paulo’s special day, using the language of flowers to tell her son and their guests how it had been love at first sight the moment she’d laid eyes on him.

The blue room was jam-packed with well-wishers, staff and the usual political leeches, who made it a point to attend anything that might further their political ambitions.

“I bet it was no small feat gettin’ the Hogg’s table out of here.”

“Her name was ‘Ima’,” Kyle responded.

“‘Ima Hogg’.

Micah broke out in laughter. “Oh my God. That name will never stop making me laugh.”

Kyle joined in with a little chuckle, but put his governor’s face back on quickly. “Governor Hogg’s daughter was actually a very fine looking woman with a pretty face and an hour-glass figure, Wolfe. She was named after a character from a book her uncle wrote. It’s debated whether Governor Jim named her that to draw attention to himself when running for election or whether he honestly didn’t put two and two together. Her grandfather raced to the christening to stop the naming, but he didn’t make it. Her brothers suffered many bloody noses defending her and she never married. Whether it was because no man could get past the name, no one knows. She did go on to be one of the greatest and most admired philanthropists of the twentieth century in Texas.”

Micah yawned. “You know when you retire from public office, you probably could get a job as a tour guide. But…two things. One, I’ve seen her picture in the gallery downstairs. She reminds me of a sexy, soft Sara Gilbert–I’d do her. And two, I understand being saddled with a name you don’t want. I hate my middle name…Albert.” Every time he had to write his initials, he was reminded of his father and their failed relationship.

“Could be worse,” Kyle mused. “Destry’s middle name is Ivan which makes his initials DIC.”

Chuckling, Micah nodded. “True and he can be. Have you heard from Noah?”

“No, he should be in Juarez by now. Aron and Bowie Travis went with him. We should be hearing something soon. Hopefully, Angel Rubio will be safely at Tebow Ranch by tomorrow.”

“What about this ring of creeps that’s killing those girls. Do we have a plan?”

“I’m working on something with Santiago and Lucia. They know the area better than I do. As soon as we have our exit strategy worked out, we’ll get ready.”

Micah sighed. “Waiting is not my strong suit.” He was reminded of that lesson when he’d taken Madison home and left her at the door with a sweet kiss. Everything within him had wanted to carry her to a bed and ravish her until she screamed–but that would come. Anything worth having was worth waiting for. Feeling his cock stir at the thought, he pulled his phone out of his suit pocket and tried to think of something else. “You know, I’d be glad to snap some pics for you so you can go schmooze, Governor.”

Kyle waved him off. “No way. This is one of the only chances I get to just be a husband and a father for a few hours.”

Micah followed his gaze and saw the reason for his big smile. Kyle loved his family. Hannah, looking beautiful in a frilly baby blue dress, was seated beside Paulo on the floor. They were the center of attention as Paulo opened gifts and drank in the applause. “How could anyone possibly come bother me about a permit or a request for state money while my son is opening his presents?”

Micah gazed around the room in understanding. He didn’t have the power or political juice Kyle Chancellor possessed, but he occasionally had to mix and mingle with the city elite. “I get it. Business can be a drag.” He motioned down his body. “I’m attired thusly because I just got out of a meeting with a bunch of bankers about some of my father’s holdings.”

“And you chose orange and purple socks, not to mention that yellow feather?” Kyle drawled with amusement.

“Hey, I know what I’m doing. They were so busy being envious of my fashion sense they didn’t even realize I tricked them into giving me a higher interest rate.” As he scanned the room, Micah saw many eyes looking their way. “I can see a few people who would like to do nothing more than bother you while the little fella opens his gifts.”

Kyle never broke his smile. “I know they’re watching me,” he said out of the corner of his mouth, snapping another picture of his two favorite people. “Just ignore them.”

The occasion was festive indeed, but Paulo had already opened his gift from Micah–a pair of bongo drums which Paulo had immediately attacked and Kyle had removed from the room with a promise of revenge on Micah. Now, he was bored. Fishing back into his pocket, Micah found his phone again. His thumbs moved across the screen expertly.

Whatcha up to, Fellows?

Across town, the phone on the desk beside Madison vibrated. Every feminine part of her perked up and took notice. The only person who ever texted her was Micah.

About to get off work and head to the nursing home. I might flirt with a few octogenarians. You?

Micah clapped along with the crowd while he waited. When he read her response, he grinned.
I’m at the most happenin’ club in town, attending a celebrity birthday party. And you tell those ole farts if they get handsy with my girl, I’ll have to invite them to step outside to the shuffleboard court.
He snapped a picture of Paulo and sent it to her.

Madison’s heart melted at the sight of Paulo’s wide grin. He’d called her ‘my girl!’ She almost swooned but managed to type,
Awwwwwww. So cute
.

Micah snapped a quick selfie and sent it off.
Not as cute as me, I bet
.

Madison viewed the picture he sent. Micah’s bottom lip was turned down and his hat sat crooked on his head. Good Lord the man was gorgeous. She vibrated with excitement.

Your turn, Fellows
. Micah texted back when she didn’t respond.

Madison delayed, trying to think what to do next. Their exchanges via text had been growing more and more adult since the time they’d spent at Micah’s house. Like he’d promised her, he’d been very bold with his words and even snapped a few shots of himself for her–a towel slung low on his hips, barely covering up the spot she’d so lusciously enjoyed rubbing while he’d made her cum on his couch. Micah was far better with his words than she was and Madison found herself reading his sexier texts over and over and over again, enjoying the way it made her feel.

She plumped her hair and clicked a selfie to send back, but she wasn’t happy with it and snapped another. “Shoot!” Madison fussed from her desk. She took five more pictures, but none she was willing to send him. Her phone vibrated.

Stop editing your pics, Fellows. I know what you look like and you’re gorgeous
. Another picture had arrived with the message, this time of Micah with a stern look on his face, admonishing Madison with a pointed finger.

Madison took five more pictures in rapid succession, she’d become quite proficient using her phone, despite her previous worries. She hadn’t learned all the tricks yet; tricks she’d heard the girls in the office talking about. Tricks like shooting herself from higher up or from an angle. She’d even heard there were filters you could get on your phone that would make you look prettier in your pictures. But it was all foreign to her, so Madison raised the phone out and above her and prayed what she’d heard was true.

She didn’t like the picture. Sure her hair looked good, but she looked like a deer caught in headlights. “Oh heck,” she said finally and hit send.

Micah drew in a deep breath. “Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn,” he said aloud.

Kyle looked away to see what had his friend so intrigued. “What is it? Let me see.”

Micah pulled his phone close to his chest. “Hey, perv. Back off.”

Kyle’s smile dropped. “Perv? Boy, you best not be looking at porn on your phone at my son’s birthday party. I will toss you out on your ass.”

“Oh, we both know you’d have your secret service goons do it for you.” He threw a jab at Kyle’s stomach, causing the governor to recoil in defense. “Living here at the governor’s mansion has made you soft.”

Hannah looked up from her spot on the floor with her son. She enjoyed seeing Kyle horsing around with his friends, she loved the closeness he shared with them and prayed that Paulo would find a group just like them one day.

“Damn, indeed,” Kyle commented when Micah showed him the picture Madison had sent.

“Easy there, Poncho. Don’t be eye-ballin’ my girl like that. I’d hate to have to challenge you to a duel.”

“Don’t worry, Wolfe,” Kyle turned to smile at his family. “I only have eyes for one girl. And she’s all mine.”

Micah was already ignoring him.
I don’t want to embarrass you or anything, Fellows. But it appears your top button has come undone. What kinda work do they have you doing over there anyway?

Is it? I didn’t even notice
.

A bald-faced lie if ever there’d been one. Madison had known very well that the button was undone. It’d been buttoned all day; she’d just opened it for the picture. Micah had sent her some risqué pics, but she hadn’t been so bold as of yet. Sending him a mirror shot in her towel had been the naughtiest she’d sent so far, but even that picture had been taken with an intentionally foggy mirror. She didn’t know why she was being so skittish. He’d had his hands all over her the other day at his ranch. A shiver of excitement washed over her as she remembered how his mouth felt on her breasts and how hard she’d cum when he’d played with her pussy.

Nice try, Fellows. But I’m on to you. Why don’t you sneak off to the washroom and lift your shirt up so I can see the rest? I didn’t get to look my fill the other day.

Madison’s entire body shuddered and for a moment she considered it.
Play your cards right and you might see them again soon, Wolfe.

Her words brought Micah to a stop.
‘Wolfe’? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
He groaned inside. Something about being called by his last name by a girl turned Micah inside out and he just stood there enjoying it for a moment.

Yea, you call me Fellows all the time. Turnabout is fair play. Did I offend you? Are you mad?
She’d made the mistake of calling one guy she dated by his last name and he’d asked her not to, said he only allowed girls to call him that in bed–but then, looking back, he’d sort of been an ass.

Oh, I’m something right now, but it ain’t mad.
Micah thought Madison was turning out to be more and more perfect every day. She was sweet and innocent, but she had a sexy streak that would appear every so often and the best part was that she didn’t usually realize when it happened.

Okay. Good.
Madison’s boss came by and shot her a stern look. She hid her phone for a moment.
I have to get back to work. I’ll be done in a few minutes and heading out
.

Talk to you later, Fellows. Be safe.

Dang, that was an abrupt end to their conversation and right when it had been getting good. But Micah understood Madison had work to do and she needed the money. He put his phone away and watched baby Paulo open the rest of his presents. He was such a cute kid. Paulo always seemed to be smiling. If Kyle wasn’t such a good friend, the perfectness of his family might have given Micah a cavity, but he was happy for his buddy. Kyle had found his soulmate in Hannah, no one could deny the fact. Even that rusty old barnacle Jet Foster had found a woman of his own. Micah had been ‘professionally playing the field’ his entire life. He never found himself lacking in female attention, but looking at the Chancellors now, he could see himself wanting what Kyle had more and more.
