Luke 19:1-27

1
 And
Jesus
entered and passed through Jericho.
2
 And, behold,
there was
a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3
And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4
And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that
way.

5
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him,
Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house.

6
And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7
 And when they saw
it,
they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

8
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore
him
fourfold.

9
 And Jesus said unto him,
This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

11
And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12
 He said therefore,
A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14

But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this
man
to reign over us.

15

And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16

Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17

And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

18

And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19

And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

20

And another came, saying, Lord, behold,
here is
thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21

for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

22

And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee,
thou
wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23

wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24

And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give
it
to him that hath ten pounds.

25

(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

26

For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
27

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay
them
before me.

Psalm 87:1-7

A Psalm
or
Song for the sons of Korah.

 His foundation
is
in the holy mountains.

2
 The L
ORD
loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3
Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

4
I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this
man
was born there.

5
And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.

6
 The L
ORD
shall count, when he writeth up the people,
that
this
man
was born there. Selah.

7
As well the singers as the players on instruments
shall be there:
all my springs
are
in thee.

Proverbs 13:11

 Wealth
gotten
by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Joshua 19:1–20:9

1
And the second lot came forth to Simeon,
even
for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2
And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba, or Sheba, and Moladah,
3
and Hazar-shual, and Balah, and Azem,
4
and Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,
5
and Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah,
6
and Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:
7
Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:
8
 and all the villages that
were
round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramath of the south. This
is
the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.

9
Out of the portion of the children of Judah
was
the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

10
And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:
11
and their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that
is
before Jokneam;
12
and turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chisloth-tabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia.
13
 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah-hepher, to Ittah-kazin, and goeth out to Remmon-methoar to Neah;
14
and the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthah-el:
15
and Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.
16
 This
is
the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

17

And
the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
18
And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,
19
and Hapharaim, and Shihon, and Anaharath,
20
and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez,
21
 and Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez;
22
and the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.
23
 This
is
the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

24
And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
25
And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,
26
 and Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihor-libnath;
27
and turneth toward the sunrising to Beth-dagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthah-el toward the north side of Beth-emek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand,
28
and Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah,
even
unto great Zidon;
29
 and
then
the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:
30
Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages.
31
 This
is
the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

32
The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali,
even
for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
33
And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:
34
 and
then
the coast turneth westward to Aznoth-tabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.
35
 And the fenced cities
are
Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,
36
and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,
37
and Kedesh, and Edrei, and En-hazor,
38
and Iron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.
39
 This
is
the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

40

And
the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
41
And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh,
42
and Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,
43
and Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,
44
and Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,
45
and Jehud, and Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon,
46
and Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.
47
And the coast of the children of Dan went out
too little
for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48
 This
is
the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

49
When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:
50
according to the word of the L
ORD
they gave him the city which he asked,
even
Timnath-serah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.

51
 These
are
the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the L
ORD
, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

20:
1
 The L
ORD
also spake unto Joshua, saying,
2
Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses:
3
 that the slayer that killeth
any
person unawares
and
unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
4
And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
5
And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.
6
And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment,
and
until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.

7
And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjath-arba, which
is
Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
8
And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.
9
These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth
any
person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.
