“I need to get you your own apron,” she said as he picked her up. He carried her into the living room and gently placed her on the couch. “You’d look good in just an apron.”

“As do you,” he said, pulling the chord on her robe.

It fell open, revealing a pair of black lace panties. He crawled on top of her and kissed her until they were both breathless. He straddled her hips as she unbuttoned his shirt, each button revealing even more of what she craved. His clean shaven chest was so smooth and taut against her fingertips.

She scooted out from under him and pushed him back, taking the dominant role in the foreplay all of a sudden. He leaned back, unable to wipe the cocky smirk from his face. On anyone else, it would be a turnoff for her but she just found it more enticing.

She snapped his suspenders against his chest and smiled. “My favorite,” she said, stroking the candy cane pattern. “I don’t know why I like them so much.”

Before he could reply, she kissed his neck. Her soft lips worked their way down to his collarbone, where she lingered for a moment as she struggled with his belt. He took her hands into his and helped her unbuckle the leather. The button on his trousers were less difficult and by the time that she got to his zipper, there wasn’t anything that could stand in her way.

“How long has it been?” she asked.

“Too long,” he said. It was his turn. He slid the bathrobe from her shoulders.

“That was way too easy,” she said, sitting on his lap in just a pair of lace panties. He shrugged and smiled. His lips met hers as he pulled her head toward his with one hand. The other hand found her breast, stroking it gently and playing with her nipples.

They decided to move it to the bedroom. Running up the stairs, they giggled all the way like high school kids ready to have sex for the first time. He laid her on the edge of the bed on her back and fell to his knees. He grabbed her panties with his teeth and gingerly slid them off. His head disappeared between her thighs.

“My god, love,” he said. “I almost forgot how good you taste.”

She moaned. “Say it again,” she said.

He could see the want in her eyes. His expert fingers applied pressure in the perfect places as his tongue did the rest of the work. Cheryl moaned in ecstasy. Her first climax was quiet and controlled but he could feel her legs tremble and her muscles tighten before letting loose. He moved upward, kissing her hips and stomach before standing up and sliding the suspenders off from his shoulders. His pants fell around his ankles.

Cheryl scrambled up the bed to make room for him to crawl on top of her. “The condoms are in the top drawer,” she said.

He reached over and pulled the drawer out, only stopping because it caught against the side of the nightstand. Otherwise, it might have flown halfway across the room in his excitement. They both chuckled as he pulled one out and ripped it open.

He found it difficult to stay calm enough to slide into her tight body. He grabbed onto her waist and pulled her toward him, sliding the covers along with her. He thrust in, going in deep before sliding back out slowly. She writhed under him, her eyes meeting his and begging for him to go in deeper still. They thrust in motion, in rhythm like they were expert dancers. Each move was rewarded with jolts of electricity and even more passion.

It wasn’t long before he felt close to climax. Not wanting to finish before he could satisfy her, he pulled out and told her to flip onto her stomach. She turned around and got up on all fours. He positioned himself right behind her but instead of sliding in, he teased her clit by sliding his wet shaft along her most sensitive of areas.

She moaned before begging him to slide it in. He did what he was told, grabbing her hips for support at first as he continued to thrust into her. His hands moved up, caressing her voluptuous posterior and moving up her back. They moved in tandem, increasing in intensity as they both got closer to the edge.

“Rafe,” she screamed. “Don’t stop. God, don’t stop.”

He leaned forward, pushing her lower toward the bed, then grabbed her breasts with both hands. He thrust in deeper still, his body shaking as he got close. He could hear her moaning get higher in pitch. Her nipples got harder and her body more tense.

They rarely finished at the same time. It was often like a game of tennis. Back and forth, and back again. They enjoyed the ability to make each other wince and quiver in pleasure and wanted to enjoy it to the fullest without distraction from their own orgasms but today was different.

“What took you so long?” asked Patrick. He sat in Rafe’s chair with his feet up on the desk.

“Do you mind?” Rafe asked. He waved his hand in an attempt to shoo his dad out of his seat. “I need to get some of this paperwork done before we start our vacation.”

“Aren’t you forgetting something?” Patrick asked.

“I love you, Dad.”

Patrick’s eyes narrowed. “Oh please, since when have I ever wanted to hear that come from your mouth?”

“Aw, now I really do love you,” Rafe said with a smile. He pointed toward the doorway. “Cheryl’s got the kids and Oswald out in the lobby. They got stopped by Sara again, which means you’re going to have to fight for them.”

“I should just fire Sara, then I don’t have to worry about sharing them,” Patrick said. He got up out of his son’s chair and dusted himself off. Despite the goofy grin on his face, Patrick always looked regal and put together. Like he was the kind of England. Or maybe a penguin.

Rafe sat down in his chair. It squeaked in protest. He pulled a small box out from his pocket. His finger stroked the tan blue velvet lid.

Patrick stuck his head in the door again. “You ready for tomorrow?” he asked.

Rafe smiled. “I’ve been waiting for this day since I first met Cheryl,” he replied.

Cheryl ran up to the door and greeted Patrick. “Sara’s got them.”

“Give me my grandchildren!” Patrick called into the lobby.

Cheryl laughed leaned into the office. “Our first client is here,” she said. “Are you excited?”

“You have no idea.” He slipped the ring back in his pocket.

“I thought you were supposed to give that to the best man for safe keeping.”

Rafe shook his head. “He chose Sara to be his date for the wedding. I’m not sure I trust his judgment.” Before they could walk out of his office together, he took her hand and pulled her close. “Are you ready to become Mrs. Raymond?” he asked her.

“Cheryl Raymond does have a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?” she said. They poked their heads into the lobby and saw Patrick pick up Sara (the small one, not the busty one) and lift her high up in the air. She giggled playfully and reached out to hug her granddad.

She had the bluest eyes from her father and the warm inviting smile of her mother. Her hair was thick and dark with brown undertones. She would be a heartbreaker. Her giggle was girly and childish but she loved to wear pants. She had on a pair of yellow pants that almost looked as if they were too big for her and a white shirt. Her hair was held back by a headband and split down the middle to form two pigtails. She was as cute as a button.

Rafe looked at her and saw her mother shining through her eyes and spirit. Every time he thought about it, it took his breath away.

Simon held onto Patrick’s leg like it was his favorite teddy bear. Patrick picked his leg up, lifting Simon up and then gently setting him down again. Simon looked just like his father. Bluish grey eyes and sandy brown hair. He wore the tiniest blue jeans and a black shirt with a white cardigan, clothes that were given to him by his mother. Cheryl was determined to buy him actual children’s clothing with bright colors and obnoxiously cute puppies on the front. They had a happy family.

It was a beautiful summer day. The sun made the clouds appear to be iridescent against the bright blue sky. The grass was neatly mowed in straight lines. Rafe’s dad wasn’t trying to teach his grandkids how to cheat at poker or trying to flirt with Cheryl’s mom. Sara and Rich were standing up at the homemade, wooden altar r with Rafe and a small Asian priest. He looked at Sara and then looked over at Rafe and Rich.

“Are you ready?” he whispered.

Rafe nodded. “I’ve done this before,” he said, nodding his head. “Second time’s the charm, right?”

He looked down the aisle, which separated a crowd of their family and friends and watched as his dad appeared in the distance. He walked slowly, hunched over as he instructed his grandchildren on the proper way of throwing rose petals down on the ground and how “not to try and eat the ring” which was attached to a satin pillow with a piece of ribbon. Despite his worries, his father was good with kids. It was both a frightening and comforting thought.

“Momma, I swear,” Cheryl said as she tried to bat her mother’s hands away. “My hair is fine. I just want to be able to walk down the aisle without you nitpicking about my hair, or makeup, or dress.”

“I have to do something,” her mother said. “My daughter’s all grown up with kids and getting  married and all. What’s there left for me to do?”

Cheryl couldn’t help but chuckle as she wrapped her arms around her mom. “Don’t you worry, mom. There will be plenty of babysitting for you to do.”

They chuckled and cried until they got the cue from the band, which started to play the theme from Cheryl’s favorite movie, The Princess Bride.

“I can’t believe you chose this song,” her mom whispered. She tried to stifle giggles.

“It’s pretty,” Cheryl whispered back. “Also, it’ll keep me from crying any more than I have to.”

Chelle nodded her head. “Good choice.”

Rafe watched his bride as she appeared in the distance. Her ivory dress made her look like a princess. The sweetheart neckline and hem gave her a feminine touch with the full skirt and chapel train gave her the elegance she deserved. The closer she got the more details he could make out, but despite the beauty of the dress, he couldn’t take his eyes off her face. She opted for a tiara instead of a veil and he was glad. The twinkle in her eyes overshadowed the detailed scalloped lace appliques that lined her deluxe bodice. He didn’t care about the dress. He wanted her.

“I can’t believe you chose that song,” Rafe said as soon as she got to the altar. A smile crept across her face. Their kids ran up to her and gave her a hug before both grandparents were able to scamper over and take them to their seats.

“Rafe,” she said. “There are many words that I would use to describe you. Wonderful, handsome, lazy, uncoordinated… But the one thing that I would never be able to say about you is that you're disloyal. You’ve been by my side through a lot of rough times but those don’t compare to the happiness that you bring me each and every day.

I love you and I will always love you with all of my heart. I promise to love and cherish you and to help you achieve all of your dreams. I am looking forward to more surprise trips to the humane society and adventures with you by my side.”

“Cheryl,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve ever met a more extraordinary woman. You’re the most unique and passionate woman I’ve ever run across and I’m glad that I wasn’t dumb enough to let you slip through my fingers,” he said with a chuckle. “You’ve shown me what I am capable of and that despite my obvious flaws, you can still bring out my ability to love someone. You’ve embraced me – despite my dad.”

“Hey!”

The crowd laughed.

Rafe continued, “I promise to love you and cherish you will my whole heart. I will lift you up and show the world just what you are capable of. The world can’t stop us now.”
