“I
can’t imagine life without you,” she said breathlessly. Cole was hitting every
spot in her that would eventually send her flying.

He
lowered his head down and kissed her neck, while he continued to move. He
breathed in a deep breath through his nose. “I love the way you smell, baby.”

Blair
turned her head, giving him more access to her neck. “What do I smell like?”
She was sure he would name a food as he always had food on the brain. She was
sure his love language was eating, which was nice, since she loved to cook

“You
smell like mine.” He ran his tongue over her neck to her ear, making her squirm
as her arousal grew. Cole moved harder as he reached his end. He pressed his
finger harder into her clit, moving it faster.
Blair’s body
tightened, then shattered around his cock.
She cried out his name as her
pussy clenched around him

“Blair,
baby.
Goddess.”
Cole moaned as her orgasm pulled at
his cock. She felt him pulsating as he spilled his seed deep in her womb. Cole
lowered his head and kissed her, before lowering himself to the bed and holding
her to him. “I could do this every day, and still I would want you. I love you
so much. I hope you know this now.”

“I
do.” Blair wrapped her arms around him knowing how much he loved her already.
He was her mate, her best friend, and always her protector.

Epilogue

Cole
sat on the bench outside the hardware store. He stretched his legs out in front
of him. His sheriff’s hat was low on his head to block the sun out of his eyes,
and he crossed his arms over his chest. He was a happy man. He could not
remember a time he’d ever been happier. Doctor Trask told them they had twins
on the way, and both looked healthy. Blair agreed to cut back her time at her
coffee shop. She made Mandy her partner, and they agreed to give her a huge
raise in pay. Life was great.

Movement
caught Cole’s attention. Jennifer walked down the sidewalk from the motel.
Michael had kept Josh a while to make sure he knew nothing about them, and they
hoped Jennifer would turn on Josh. Jennifer had dirt on Josh, Cole knew it.
Whatever she knew she kept to herself. He could see the distrust in her eyes.
Then Cole spotted Lucas, following her.
Shit,
he’s got it bad.

Jennifer
walked into the restaurant, and Lucas stayed right around the corner. Cole
stood up and to the back of the building. He jogged up the back alley and
snickered as he slowed down to creep up to the corner of the building. He may
get a fist in the face, but it would still be fun.

Cole
snuck around the
corner,
saw Lucas paying attention to
the door. Then he grabbed him with a roar. Lucas spun around and swung his fist
while snarling.

“Cole, you fucking rat bastard.
What
the goddessdamn fucking hell is your problem?”

“Wow.”
Cole laughed. “That is a lot of cuss words.”

Lucas
glared at him, not amused at all.

“What
are you doing out here?”

“I
am keeping my eye on that human.”

Cole
rested his shoulder against the building and laughed. “That’s what you are
calling it, huh?”

“Yes.
It is what I am doing.”

Cole
felt himself smiling, “I think you should just go ask her to have dinner with
you.”

Lucas
sputtered in outrage. “She’s human!
Fully human, not even a
halfling.”

“Yeah,
and you are not concerned at all about her. You want her.”

“I
do not!”

“You
do.”

Lucas
glared again. “Shut the fuck up, Cole. And stop grinning at me like that.”

Cole’s
grin widened. “Go and take her to dinner. Kiss her, hell, take her to bed. It’s
time to live again, Lucas.”

“I
live just fine.”

“Hi,
Jennifer,” Cole said looking at her as she walked by with a hot sandwich and
coffee. Mitch and Warren worked out a deal that the guests of Warren’s motel
received free meals from Mitch. It made the room cost a bit more, since Warren
paid Mitch a flat fee, but no one ever complained. Mitch served excellent food.

Lucas
spun around, and Cole noticed the look on his face was not suspicious. He had
seen that look on Michael’s face when he first met Cassie. It was the look a
shifter had on his face when he met his
Ilithyia
soul
bonded mate.

“Hi, Cole and Lucas.”
Jennifer’s smile was soft and
genuine.

Oh yeah, she is perfect for
Lucas. Once he admits he isn’t watching her, but pulled to her.
This
was going to be fun watching Lucas fall for Jennifer.

“Well,
you two enjoy.” Cole glanced over to the coffee shop and saw Blair and Mandy
talking. “I see Blair is ready to go. Bye now.” Cole could feel Lucas glaring
at him, but he didn’t care. He was happy, and he wanted to share his happiness.
