Gabriel replied, “Perhaps we will have to work on that.”

Betsy’s eyes went wide, and she kicked herself mentally for putting such an image in the man’s head. If her intention was to offer up her virginity to a complete stranger on a silver platter, she was doing a fine job of it, that was for sure.

Almost as if he was reading her mind, Gabriel chuckled while he drew her forward and to his side as they began to walk. “Do not worry, Betsy, I’m not going to devour you in one bite along with the meal. I like to savor my moments. We will go to a nearby restaurant, and eat a normal, decent meal, and talk of trivial things. Just like a real first date. What do you think of that, eh?”

“I think this is a real first date.” she pointed out, one brow raised as she cast him a sidelong glance.

Gabriel chuckled again. “You are right, of course. But it’s been so long since I’ve had one, I’d forgotten.”

“Oh? What do you normally do, then? Have your women delivered to your door?”

“Would you come to me if I did?” he inquired with a smile as they reached his waiting car, with one man holding the door so they could get into the back. Gabriel helped Betsy inside, and she slid over so he could follow.  She realized with a start that she’d never been inside of a limousine before and looked around curiously before she remembered he was waiting for her to reply.

“I—I don’t think I would have,” she admitted. “It’s not like I’ve ever been to a man’s room before.”

“Have you not?” he answered indulgently as he slid a finger under one of her long, dark curls, and lifted it to his nose.

“What are you doing?” she asked, as her whole body went up in flames though she tried to appear unaffected.

“Enjoying the sweet scent that brought us to this place.” he said with a fanciful smile. He breathed deeply. “The perfume, she is nice, but your own scent is better, I think.”

“I thought you said you weren’t going to devour me, Signore.” she teased lightly.

“No, only that I intend to savor you,” he replied. “Driver, you know where to go.”

“Yes, sir, Don Gabriel.” said the man at the wheel, and did as he was told.

Gabriel took her to an attractive restaurant that featured an upstairs dance floor.  A live band could be heard in the background, playing a blend of different popular dance tunes, but Betsy hardly seemed to notice what any of them were. She was too caught up in her companion’s voice and his casual touches, as he coaxed everything about her that he could from her traitorously willing lips.

“But surely you must have questions for me, too, Betsy.” he said after a while as he drew one of the long-stemmed roses from the vase on the table and traced the flower over her nose. Betsy jumped when it tickled her more than she expected, making Gabriel laugh softly as he did it again.

Before she could answer his question, however, two waiters showed up, each carrying one entree and several side dishes on their platters. They had placed their orders about twenty minutes ago, and now the scents of the hearty Italian dishes filled the air, and both of them sniffed appreciatively at the same time, and then laughed when each saw the other do so.

“Why did you get different silverware?” Betsy asked curiously when she noticed one of the waiters setting out gold-colored implements in front of Gabriel and deftly removing the others.

“I have—an allergic reaction—to silver.” said Gabriel, shrugging as he said this.

Betsy nodded as she picked up her own fork, ready to begin eating her meal.

“Try this, my dear,” he said as he held forth a bite of pasta on one of the forks in question. “It is the best linguini on the planet, and this place makes it to perfection.”

She shyly leaned forward to eat the small bite of food off his golden fork, and her stomach filled with little butterflies at the way Gabriel watched her lips the entire time, as though he’d like to be tasting them. When she finally swallowed the heavenly morsel, she picked up her napkin and dabbed at her mouth, an action which practically had him salivating.

“You’re not making it any easier to eat, doing that.” she teased him.

“Yes, I see,” he chuckled. Then he reached forward and slid his hand gently over her throat and began to massage, making her chuckle right along with him.

“I didn’t know people did throat massages.” she mentioned with a grin. He let go, and his hand slid upwards, cupping her chin as his thumb slid slowly over her bottom lip. “Or mouth massages, either.”

“Lips are best massaged by the lips of another.” he told her with a sultry look that hit her right between her thighs. “And you did not ask me any questions,
ma bella.

“What does one ask a mob boss, anyway?” she wanted to know. “I’m sure there are plenty of things about you that I’d rather not know about.”

“I would shield you from that part of my life,” he answered with a sincere and somewhat fanciful smile. “I’m sure you know I have not brought you here to recruit you to the Cosa Nostra. My reasons are, as you must have guessed, much more selfish in nature.”

“You, selfish?” she asked with mock surprise. “No one would have ever suspected such a trait in a mobster.”

“Sweet, sweet Betsy,” he grinned. “Why do you make me feel like a school boy again with your light-hearted banter? I have not laughed like this in ages.”

Betsy’s smile fell slightly as she contemplated his words. She supposed there was much about his life that would cause him to frown, but still, he had money, power, and prestige, so it couldn’t be all that bad. Gabriel watched her face as these thoughts flitted through her mind, and yet again, she had the sense that he knew just what was on her mind.

“You would think that with all my money, I would be happy,” he said with a nod. “But surely you must see that with no one in particular to share it with, the victory is somewhat empty.”

“Have you never married, then?” she wanted to know.

“My wife and I divorced several years ago.” he explained. “She could not deal with my—elevated status—within the organization. It has been difficult to find anyone since who had the courage to be with me.”

“Well, what does the job entail, really?” Betsy asked. “What, do you have to kill at least one person a day to meet the quota? Do you steal candy from babies and give it to the big boss? How naughty are we talking here?”

Gabriel was shaking his head with mirth by the time she’d finished. “These were not the questions I was hoping you would ask.” he said. “Can you not ask me my favorite color, or about my mother, or something else like that?”

“Okay, what about your mother?”

“I do not have a killing quota,” he said, still shaking his head. “It is actually much preferred when we all cooperate with each other—though I will not deny having killed more than one man in my lifetime. Mostly, we offer our protection to businesses so that others will not try to rob them blind as well. With so many different families operating in Las Vegas, it is important for these places to get that protection, else they’d be forced to pay out all their profits to the various mobsters who came looking, and they’d never be able to remain in business.”

“So in your eyes, what you do is actually helpful to them?” she clarified.

“I like to think so, yes.”

“So, what happens if another mobster tries to bully your business?” Betsy wanted to know.

“Then I send a few boys to remind him of our jurisdiction.” Gabriel admitted. “My mother has lived in Italy her whole life. She only speaks Italian. I have four brothers, and they are mostly in New York. Three of them are also made men, and the other works for the FBI.”

“Hmm, I wonder if you would call that one the white sheep in the family.” she said with a cheeky grin.

“Funny,” he said, bumping his nose against her forehead. “Let us eat, before the food gets cold.”

“Good idea.” she agreed. They spent the next few minutes companionably eating their food and smiling at each other, effectively talking with their eyes. Betsy knew right when Gabriel’s mood switched from playful to something a bit more sensual when his foot slid over to hers and rubbed.

“Will you come dance with me?” he asked her as she dabbed her lips and set her napkin on her empty plate.

“I’m not very good at dancing, unless you consider stepping on your partner’s toes a good dance step.” she answered with an amused grimace.

Gabriel slid a hand around her waist as he got to his feet, bringing her with him. “If you need to step on feet in order to dance, then you can stand on mine and I’ll show you the way it’s done,” he offered with a grin. Betsy started to protest, but she just couldn’t seem to resist the look on his face and fell into step beside him as they headed for the stairs.

The nightclub they found at the top seemed lively and fun, with a mix of different types of music to dance to. Gabriel and Betsy found a place on the dance floor, and she noticed that the other people gave the pair of them a wide berth, which was just as well, considering her skills on the floor.

Betsy giggled as she stepped up onto Gabriel’s feet, and the two of them danced around for a time. But then he said, “Much as I am enjoying the proximity of this position, now it is time for you to try it for yourself.”

“Either that, or your toes are starting to ache.” she chuckled.

“This place begins to feel much too crowded, Betsy.” he said in her ear as she stepped down onto the floor. “I have a suite that I keep over at the Venetian if you would like to practice somewhere more private?”

Betsy blushed hotly. She knew very well if she went with him, it wasn’t the dancing they’d be likely to practice there. It was much more likely to be the swallowing. Her body temperature must have gone up by a thousand degrees as she thought about what it would be like in Gabriel’s bed. She knew she ought to tell him no.

“I’d like that.” she whispered instead, as they bumped noses. Then he swooped in and gave her a brief kiss, just enough to tease. Betsy didn’t even have a chance to return it before his lips were gone, and he had her wrapped against his side with one arm. The pair of them went back down the stairs and headed for the door, where the two henchmen still stood, awaiting their departure.

CHAPTER TWO

The Venetian Hotel was actually just up the block from where they’d dined and danced, and Gabriel opted to send the car away and take Betsy’s hand for the short walk there. It was obvious that he was well-known in the place before he even reached the entrance. The footmen who stood outside came to attention and politely bowed. The doorman hurried forward to open the way for the couple and their two guards. People in the area stopped to watch, asking each other who the man must be, and some of their expressions turned to awe (or disgust) once they knew.

Betsy took in the enormity and grandeur of the place, almost dizzied by it. The tiles looked like three dimensional blocks all along the floor, and high, golden arched towered above them. Paintings resembling the work of Michelangelo covered the ceilings, and everywhere one looked, double sets of pillars joined the apses to the floor.

They stepped in further, and stood near the most unusual fountain Betsy had ever seen. An open, globe-like pattern with some sort of writing dominated the piece, and at its center was an armless, bare-chested figure staring out into the room.

“I can tell you have not come here before.” Gabriel said as he reclaimed her hand and turned her in the direction of the elevators.

“I haven’t.” she confirmed as she followed him in. Other than the operator, they were left alone for the moment as his henchmen chose to take the other elevator.

As soon as the doors closed, Gabriel pulled Betsy into his arms behind the operator’s back and whispered into her ear, “I tipped him to stop the elevator partway up if we seem to be—busy, sweetheart. He won’t be letting anyone else in, either.”

“Really?” Betsy said with a nervous little sigh. “What did you have in mind?”

Flashing her a brilliant smile, Gabriel pulled off his jacket and draped it over his arm. He drew her close as his lips came down to claim hers. Betsy leaned up and into him, more than willing to discover just how good the man might taste.  She wasn’t sure how long they stood like that, but eventually the doors opened and the two of them stepped out into the hall.

“We’re not at the top?” asked Betsy, surprised to see they’d gone only a few floors up.

“The suites aren’t so high up here,” he explained as his two guards began to follow them at a respectful distance. Betsy glanced behind her and cast the men a brief smile of acknowledgment.

“You grow used to them after a while.” he mentioned when he saw her do so, and she nodded. Gabriel put his arm around her, drawing her against his side as they walked. “Once we go into my suite, it’ll be just the two of us. I promise.”

“Okay,” she said with a slight smirk. He smirked back as he slid his key-card in the lock.

“Ready?” he asked with a bit of a smile. Betsy nodded and let him draw her inside and waited as he shut the door behind them. They stepped into the living room area and settled together on the sofa. Gabriel picked up the phone and spoke into it while Betsy looked curiously around the room.

“What was that about?” she asked.

“I ordered some champagne and strawberries.” he said with a grin.

“Mmm, then I suppose we should probably be good till it gets here, huh?”

“Not really.” he answered with another grin as he wrapped an arm behind her shoulders and started to run the thumb of his free hand back and forth over her bottom lip. When Betsy laughed and turned her head, he turned her face back to his and kissed her.

Betsy’s heart began to thud as the kiss deepened. She gasped slightly as his tongue slid over her lip the same way his thumb had done before. It made her groan as he kept doing it. He responded by teasing open her mouth and groaning as well. His hand slid down from her chin, over the side of her neck, along her collarbone, then down her side so he could lift her onto his lap.

“Hey!” she protested softly, but she didn’t pull away.

“He’s not here yet.” he excused himself, and when she wrapped her arms around his neck he sucked in his breath and bunched his fingers into her hair as he deepened the kiss even more. Betsy leaned against him, pressing her body to his in a vain attempt to get closer. One of Gabriel’s hands slid down and ghosted over her nipple.

Just as Gabriel’s wandering hand slid underneath the edge of the dress’s collar so he could uncover the breast he was teasing, someone knocked at the door. Betsy had been holding her breath, and now, she groaned softly as he let her go.

“It will only be a moment, little one.” he teased her. She nodded as she sat back in the sofa and took a deep breath. “Enter,” Gabriel called out, and a man stepped inside with a little cart into which the iced champagne had been set. Two flutes were set alongside a little golden dish.  The delivery man lifted the cover just enough to reveal the pile of strawberries contained underneath.

Bella, bella,”
said Gabriel. “See my man for your tip, and please set the do not disturb sign on the door as you leave.”

“Very good, sir.” he said with a slight bow, and then he left.

“Alone at last.” Gabriel turned back to Betsy again. She grinned wryly up at him, and then he pulled her back into his lap. “
Mi amore
, I want to fill you with strawberries and then suck off every last drop of the juice.” he teased her, sucking on her bottom lip to emphasize the words.

Betsy giggled. “You forgot to give me a strawberry first.”

“Mia culpa
,” he said, and then he took the lid off the strawberries and grabbed one of them to pop into her mouth. She knew she was being quite naughty when she sucked on it instead of biting, and she looked up at him expectantly as she did so. Gabriel pushed the strawberry into her mouth a bit further with his index finger, and she started sucking on that too. “You want to suck things that much?” he inquired with a suggestive grin.

“Mm, yes, please.” she answered as she chewed her food, trying not to grin wickedly.

Gabriel did the grinning for her as he reached down and unbuttoned his fly. Betsy’s eyes were transfixed on his hand as he did so. She’d never even seen a penis up close and personal before, and here she’d practically begged him to let her taste his. Was she even the same girl anymore, she thought. She must truly be going crazy.

Gabriel moved back and settled himself more comfortably into the cushions, leaving it to Betsy to unzip his pants and discover their contents. Shyly, Betsy positioned herself with her knees on the floor and her torso perched between his legs. She slid her hands up his legs and unzipped his pants. Her fingers swept over his throbbing bulge as she searched for the top of his boxers, and then she pulled them down out of the way.

The first thing she noticed was that Gabriel was much larger then she had expected. The smooth, hard shaft was bigger around and longer than she had imagined, and she didn’t know if this was just the case with Gabriel or all cocks in general. Either way, a sucking she had promised, and a sucking she was about to give.

Gabriel groaned appreciatively when she flicked her tongue over the tip of his rigid cock. She did it again, and again, and he threaded his fingers into her hair, urging her on to be more daring. Betsy took his cue and slid him inside her mouth. She bent forward, taking as much of his shaft inside her mouth as she thought would fit. She found out she was wrong in her assessment when Gabriel thrust, and filled her mouth even more fully.

Betsy grunted as he set a pace, and she moved to match him. She swirled her tongue around his cock each time he thrust, and she soon had him trembling beneath her fervent ministrations. He pulled out of her mouth, and his hot, white cum spurted onto her face. She had to wipe it out of one of her eyes, and she cast him an amused grin as she stared up at him with the remaining eye.

“Sorry,” he said, grabbing one of the couch cushions to wipe her off. “I did not expect to finish quite so soon. It has been too long, I think. Perhaps we should continue this in the bedroom.”

Betsy nodded her agreement to this plan, and followed him as he led her there.
