“Now touch yourself again.”

She licked her bottom lip and spread her legs wide so he could see everything. She touched herself, hand and body fucking one another as she writhed in a rhythm she set and mastered and rode until she came, moaning her release into the still surroundings like an ethereal vixen.

He climbed atop her, slowly moving up her body with his own. She had her fingers in her mouth sucking off the juices when he arrived at her lips.

“Such a selfish minx.” He scolded playfully. “Put your fingers back inside, then bring them to my mouth instead this time.”

He loved the heat that flared in her eyes. She did exactly as he commanded her without a single hesitation.

He sucked her fingers hard, and she moaned.

“Again.” He held her stare as she complied.

He made her repeat the process several more times, loving how she was feeding him her juices. He’d never done anything quite like this before. It was like he was her master and he needed her essence to survive, and she was dutifully providing him with everything he needed.

The last time she brought her fingers to him, he pushed them into her own mouth and as she slowly pulled them out, he engulfed her in a deep kiss, sharing her flavor more fully.

He pushed his hands into her hair, sucked her tongue into his mouth and ground his body against hers. He wanted to go slow and make love to her, but his need was greater than he’d felt in a very long time, and he didn’t think he’d last. He pushed his cock inside her and began a slow dance with her, pushing his cock as deep into her cunt as he could get it. It was almost as if he wanted to become a part of her, a need he’d never felt before with any other woman. Of course,
Destiny
just wasn’t any other woman to him.

She pulled away from his kiss, a moan escaping her lips. She pushed her head back into the pillows and began a string of earthy moans and sighs that had him desperate to make her come. The nipple clamps were still in place and pressing into his own flesh as he lay atop her. He reached between them and released one and then the other.

“Ohh God, Ronan.” She closed her eyes and moved her body in sync with his.

He sucked her poor tortured nipple into his mouth, delivering some salve with his tongue, then moved to her other.

“You wore them well, minx.” He sucked carefully, knowing they would be super sensitive now as the feeling returned to them.

He continued to work her body with his own. Having learned her so well, he knew how to move to bring her the most pleasure, or how to tease her mercilessly. He knew what each of her little sounds meant, and he knew the different looks in her eyes.

He kissed her again, still catching the faint hint of her flavor on her tongue. He couldn’t hold back any longer, he started to fuck her harder and faster, needing the release it would give him.

“Come with me, minx.” He brought his head down next to hers, burrowing into the sweet curve of her neck.

“Yes,
please
, Ronan.”

He reached down between them and manipulated her clit a few times, all the while holding her tight with his other arm.

His body tensed.

She cried out.

Her cunt grabbed his cock so damn hard there was no stopping his own release. Her sweet heat embraced and stroked him dry, and when he finished, he fell atop her, just barely being able to restrain himself from crushing her.

She breathed heavy in his ear, her breath floating across his skin as tangible as a touch. He brought his other arm up and rolled them so she lay beside him, and he held her body tightly to his. There were no words to describe everything he was feeling in that moment. He only knew it was the most extraordinary night of his life, and he dreaded that in a few hours, the cold light of dawn would come in and shatter their bliss. He’d never known anything, though, other than the painful disillusionment of dreams, and that love was fate’s bitch, and he couldn’t allow himself to travel that road again.

Not even for Destiny.

Chapter Seventeen

Destiny approached the lobby bar feeling a little bit sore from the activities of the night before. She smiled and had to draw a breath to stay focused. If she lived to be a thousand, she couldn’t imagine anything ever being better than what she and Ronan shared that night.

“Karissa, did the Bud shipment come in?” It was the only one not filled in on the paperwork she’d gotten.

“Not yet, but I can let you know when it does.” Karissa popped up from below the bar.

“No, it’s fine, I was just trying to figure out this paperwork. You ever manage bars?” She looked at the stack of forms she had on a clipboard.

“No. Can’t say I have. Why?” She tucked her long blonde hair behind her ears.

“’Cause I’m thinking of promoting you.” The idea was growing on her more by the moment. “If I can learn all this stuff, I’m sure you could as well, and if you took over the bar and eventually maybe even restaurant management, you have no idea how much that would help me out.”

Destiny was practically begging now and determined to get her way.

“Please?”

She awaited Karissa’s capitulation, because she refused to hear anything other than yes, but Karissa hesitated, then her gaze tracked something to the side. Destiny was just about to turn and see what had snagged Karissa’s attention when the thick brogue, even with its sharp bite, caressed her senses.

“Could you
please
keep your sister away from my men?” Ronan snuck up beside her, causing her to flinch. She was instantly caught in a fight between keeping her composure and falling at his feet.

“She doesn’t help anything up there, and half my men are busting their asses trying to help her. At the end of the day, no work has actually been completed. I kept my mouth shut about it as long as I can, Destiny, but she’s killing me up there.” He gave her a crooked smile and grabbed both her arms as if pleading with her.

“Please don’t let her help down here, Des,” Karissa put in. “I’m just getting things organized and…well, I’ve heard stories. I’m sorry. I get she’s your sister, but please don’t put her here.” Karissa looked positively guilt ridden.

Destiny started laughing.

“So no one wants my sister?”

“Well, that’s a bit harsh, darlin’. I’ve got a large number of men on my payroll that seem interested, but I don’t think that’s going to settle our problem here.

Destiny bit her lip. She refused to let her sister off the hook. It was probably her plan all along. She’d have to find something for her to do…maybe laundry. She smiled at the thought, but the argument that would ensue wasn’t worth it.

“Maybe Cassidy can use her at the front desk.” She sort of cringed. The idea of her sister being the first impression a guest would get was
not
a good idea.

She shook her head and looked at Karissa. “I won’t send her your way.” Then to Ronan. “And I’ll get her away from your men.” She rolled her eyes. “In some fairy-tale land somewhere, family is supposed to be a good thing, isn’t it?”

Karissa laughed harshly. “Well, if you find that magic kingdom, you let me know.” She tossed a bar towel over her shoulder and headed to the back room. “I’ll give you a heads up when the Bud order comes in, Des.”

“Thanks, Karissa.” She wasn’t really worried about the order, but she was very much serious about making Karissa her bar manager.

She and Ronan stepped away from the bar toward one of the lobby fountains.

“Did you sleep okay, minx?” He brushed her hand, and her stomach fluttered.

She hesitated before answering, and he of course caught it.

“Tell me.” The concern on his face made her feel terrible.

“No, it’s not bad. I just…” She shrugged. “I found myself missing you.”

They never slept together, so it wasn’t as though it was out of the ordinary for her to have wakened alone, but for some reason, after all they had shared the night before, she wished she could have wakened in his arms.

He reached out and gently stroked her cheek. “I missed you as well.”

She wished she could have let him just take her in his arms right then and there, but she’d set the rules, and she knew he wouldn’t break them.

“No regrets then?” He watched her carefully.

She smiled. “Last night was astounding. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to reconcile what I did with my internal good girl, but no, no regrets.”

“Good girl.”

She blushed and had to focus on breathing for a moment. Something about that statement always made her want to kneel at his feet and give him anything he wanted.

“Destiny, in all seriousness, you were everything a man could have wanted last night. I’ve never been more pleased with a partner in all my life.”

His words, mixed with the tenderness in his eyes, made her want to cry. It was this type of connection, this ability to please her man, this feeling of being desired, appreciated, and needed that she had longed for all her life. He gave her all that she needed, and he didn’t take from her anything she wasn’t willing to give. It was perfection. She realized it would all end the day he finished his business with her hotel.

Her heart began to ache, and she thought for a moment she may cry for real, so she pushed him away emotionally and tried to sound light when she answered.

“Thanks. I’ve gotta go. Cassidy is showing me how to run this one report this morning that I can’t quite get the knack of.” She drew a breath, tried to keep the walls up around her heart and pasted a fake smile on her face.

“Sure.” She saw the wound open and bleeding in his expression.

It wasn’t that she’d wanted to dismiss him, his beautiful words, or what they had been sharing. She just realized that she was in way over her head emotionally and was on the fast track to a broken heart. She remembered how badly she hurt when her marriage ended. She still wasn’t certain how she’d survived it, and though she obviously hadn’t put in the years and effort with Ronan she had with Oscar, in some ways, Ronan meant more to her than Oscar ever had.

“Okay.” She turned and walked away without any more explanation. She started across the lobby to the front desk before he saw the damn tears start to well up in her eyes.

She’d barely survived the heartache of ending a marriage, but this…

She lost her balance for a moment.

I’m not in love with him.

She wasn’t. There were no dreamy romantic feelings going on for him. She liked him. She admired him. She was grateful to him. She wasn’t in love with him.

So then what was going on with her heart?

“You okay? You look kinda pale.” Cassidy stared at her with open concern.

“No.” She thought about lying, just saying,
Yeah fine
, but she wasn’t.

“What’s wrong?” Cassidy got up and came to stand by her.

“I’m not sure.” She looked at Cassidy square on. “I’m not in love with him, but, the thought of losing him makes me feel like my heart is being ripped out. Oh my god!”

She couldn’t breathe. She took the nearest chair and tried to draw air slow and steady into her lungs.

Cassidy came beside her and started rubbing her back.

“I don’t want to lose him, but I have no choice. I thought I was being so smart, not getting involved. It was just supposed to be sex!” She dropped her face into her hands.

Cassidy bent down in front of her and placed both her hands on Destiny’s knees. “I’m guessing it’s gone beyond just sex then?”

Destiny straightened and looked at her. She tried to assimilate exactly what was going on. Maybe it was just that it was the best, most satisfying sex of her life. Maybe she just didn’t want to lose that, but could
just
sex really have this much impact on her heart?

“He took me to a sex club.” She didn’t even blush in telling that. She smiled, secretly reliving the rush as she thought about all they’d done the night previous. “It was
amazing
.”

“I’ve been to a sex club.” She smiled.

Destiny’s eyes got wide as she took in the information. “You have? With Aiden?”

Cassidy stood and pulled up a chair.

“Well yes, but not like that. I mean, we didn’t do anything.” She laughed. “We went with some good friends, Anne and…” She stopped herself and blushed. “Just a couple of good friends. They’re into the lifestyle, and I thought it would be interesting to check out.”

“Wow.” She wasn’t sure what else to say.

To her, going to a sex club had been so out of the box. Something that had never even entered her conscious, and now she finds out that both Cassidy and Aiden had gone. Her mind was teetering on overload.

“I know, it was crazy. I kinda want to go back, but I’m not sure Aiden does.” She laughed.

“I want to go back,” Destiny confessed.

But she only wanted to go back with Ronan.

“I’m assuming this is Ronan you went with?”

Destiny wasn’t entirely surprised she knew. It would make sense Aiden would have told her. She nodded. She’d been dying to have this conversation with someone, but as Aiden was arguably her closest friend right now, and Ronan was still a touchy subject at best, she’d been keeping it all inside. Now she was about ready to bust.
