Clocking the screw staring at her yet again, Frankie broke into song once more. ‘God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen, God save our Queen. Send her victorious . . .’
‘Please shut up,’ the screw said.
Frankie shook her head and stared at him with a psychotic expression. ‘Happy and glorious, long to reign over us, God save the Queen.’
As the screw glanced at his female colleague, Frankie smirked. She wasn’t mad – anything but. She was cleverer than most people and so she should be.
After all, she was Eddie Mitchell’s daughter.
