“There isn’t one,” she said, her voice strained with emotion.

“Then we’ll have to make one.”

“Daniel …”

“Say yes, Whitney.”

“Yes.”

He smiled bringing his mouth down to hers, his breath warm on her face. “You can still be Stagliatti, if you want,” he whispered. “Or McCallie, or Graham, or whatever ... just so long as you’re my wife. Marry me, Whitney.”

“You have my answer already,” she whispered, and affirmed it with a kiss.
