On another occasion Seaman faced accusations of allowing prisoners to roam freely through the jailhouse and permitting inmates to attend the movies. There were also rumors of jailhouse orgies. In 1919, Seaman was fired after his laxness allowed Dr. Walter Wilkins to commit suicide one day after Wilkins had been convicted of murdering his wife.
