I knew it! The cups have a deeper meaning!

The ones who misinterpreted just a bit are kind of gods too

Talking for two hours took it out of us

We were speechless for a while . . .

‘Do you want to go somewhere?’

she said, breaking the silence.

I agreed

‘Where do you want to go?’

she asked, and I thought about what would be open

I did think of somewhere else but I calmed myself down and said

‘Do you want to go to a diner?’

‘Well now that you mention it, I am a bit hungry’

she laughed.

As she got ready to move up to the front seat

I said ‘Just one more’ and reached for her arm and stopped her

and gave her a light cous

but then she said

‘A little more’

and kissed me three or four times.

Then she wiped her lipstick off me

So we ended up driving back to her part of town and decided to eat at the local diner. She said she hadn’t been there ‘in a really long time’

. . . and here’s a killer line from our drive there

‘I feel lonely being so far from you while I’m driving’

and we’re talkin maybe about 10 or 20 centimetres of space

so we held hands while we were at red lights.

We finally get back to her part of town and go to the diner.

She quickly ran into the bathroom to check her make-up--

she told me that the harsh lighting exposed too much, not that I gave a damn

I waited couldn’t wait for her to return

and flipped through the menu but couldn’t work up an appetite

so I decided she could choose.

She came back after about 15 minutes and I asked her

‘Could you order for me too?’

and she ended up ordering the Japanese dinner set for me.

Wow, she knew exactly the kind of food for someone who didn’t have

much of an appetite . . .

How can I say it, it’s like we both know that the next time we see each other, we will be facing the final battle.

This short but eventful two-month period looks to be coming to a close with the next blow.
