“That it is,” he winked. “Jocelyn and I had only talked about it briefly this morning, but she’s going to homeschool the rest of her education.”

“Ooh, now that’s a good idea.”

“I get to be home all by myself,” Jocelyn raved.

“Uh no, young lady. You get an office space at the company where I can keep an eye on you.”

“Which eye?” Bambi winked at him.

“The one I don’t have on you. I have to watch the two of you. You’re both trouble.”

Bambi and Jocelyn laughed hard. “Two against one,” Jocelyn beamed. “I think we’re going to win all the decisions, Bambi.”

Bambi laughed. “I think your father is his own personal Army. We’re going to have a tough fight, but we can take him.” She nudged Jocelyn with a wink. “Let’s go plot and plan our defense.” She heard Sterling laughing behind them.

“I’m going to have to watch out for the two of you a lot more than I thought. Bambi, you’re supposed to be on my side here.”

“Only in some things, Sterling. Only in some things.” She smiled and winked at him as she reached back, grabbed hold of his hand again and took him into their vacation home. It would seem they all got what they wanted. She got Sterling. He got her. Jocelyn got her freedom. At the end of the day, the place of her birth had given her another kind of birth—the birth of freedom, security, family and home. Sterling was her home, and she was his. She looked out to the sky above and said a silent thank you to whatever forces were watching over her. Things didn’t always happen swiftly, but she was living proof that sometimes karma really does exist. A wedding. Justice. A family. A new life. Things couldn’t get much more perfect than this she thought as she looked at Sterling. She pulled her hair back, dropped her bag on the floor and went to sit beside them on the sofa. “Home,” she said as she laced her fingers with his. They were all finally home—right where they belonged. Loved, safe and happy. Yeah, this was perfection, she thought—perfection indeed.
