Everett

After approaching the bouncer, I pull out three hundreds and hand them to him.

“Don’t let anyone interrupt us.”

“Sure thing, man.” He smiles and slips it into his pocket.

Upon entering the room, Reese immediately looks to me, and I feel bad over how anxious she seems. I need to ease her mind. Strolling to the bar, I pour her a glass of wine and grab a beer off the ice.

“They’re sending someone in so I wouldn’t have to watch you ask, right?”

Turning around, I see that her fingers are digging into the couch on each side of her. I set the drinks down on the counter and turn to lean against it.

“I don’t thi
nk we should drink anymore tonight. I want you to remember everything else you’re going to experience.”

“Oh,
shit,” she murmurs, her breathing promptly picking up. I can’t torment her any longer, so I stalk over and take a seat next to her. Pulling her up, I place her in my lap and lean her back against my forearm.

“No one else is walking in here, Reese.”

“Why not?”

“Fancy face, I never
said I wanted to go watch strippers, and I definitely didn’t say I desired bringing one home for a threesome.”

But the ‘Have you ever?’ game we played …”

“I only asked if you had participated
in one. I never said I wanted to do it.”

Her green eyes are beautiful as the worry leaves them. “But you said you wanted to experience some of those things.”

“Some, and I recall saying only with you. Now, will you be quiet and kiss me already? I haven’t had a chance to make out with you for hours.”

A sweet grin bursts from her before her lips land on mine. Her tight ass is
shoving down on my rapidly growing cock, and damn, I already want to fuck her again. She pulls away abruptly.

“Why did you put me through this?” she asks with a touch of irritation in her voice.

“You dragged me to this shady place. You deserved to be tortured a bit.” I brush strands of fallen hair from her face and bring her closer. “Baby, you’re the only woman I have eyes for, and I already told you that I don’t share. A threesome would require sharing you. You’re mine only.”

“Why didn’t you tell me instead of spending this time and money?”

“I was sure you didn’t want to go through with it, but you were so brave to even instigate it and to follow through with coming here, so I decided not to stop you until I had to.”

“What if I had wanted to do it?”

“I knew you didn’t.”

“But what if I had gotten here and changed my mind?” she asks, that chin of hers tilting like every other time she wants me to believe she’s a badass. I take hold of
it and bring her mouth close.

“It wouldn’t have happened on my w
atch. I repeat … I do not share, and I would have said so.”

Reese sucks in a breath of air, and I feel her body quivering. “What do we do now?” Her voice
is back to gentle and submissive before I capture her lips and find my way in.

My hand sl
ides up her silky leg, slipping under the hem of her dress. I shove it up as far as I can without her being exposed. Fingers delve into my hair, twisting and gripping with urgency.

Her whimpers fill my mouth, and fuck, I want to take her here, but I refuse.
Hips arch upward, and I can feel she wants me to touch her, needing me to get her off. Reluctantly, I pull my mouth away. Reese is flushed and lost in lust.

“Fuck me … right here,” she says before attempting
to get up, likely to straddle me.

Baby, listen, there is a camera in here.”

She freezes and stares at me.

“Seriously?” Her eyes begin darting around the room.

Yes, and I’m not letting someone see any part of you naked.”

“Then touch me.” Her tone is
soft and seductive as she moves my hand under her dress farther. “I won’t get undressed.”

“Yo
ur orgasms are for you and me. No one else gets to witness them.”

“Please, Everett. Don’t make me wait.”
Her hand pushes on mine, her gaze as desperate as her voice.

“My brave girl
wants them to watch. An exhibitionist. Who knew?
Fuck
, you turn me on more every second.”

She smiles up at me,
her eyes laced with a devilish desire. “I think it’s erotic.”

I’ll get you off right here, if I can do what I want to you at home,” I say as my fingers brush over the damp, slick material. Her head nods, urging me on.

“I
’m only agreeing to this since you’re being daring, Reese, which is what I need from you.” My fingers slip inside of her as my nose grazes up her neck.

“More
,” she says with a whimper as her body pushes against my hand. My tongue twirls around her ear as my thumb pushes and drags down her clit. She falls back against my arm, her hips edging upward again.

“That’s it
. Let go for me, and be in the here and now.” My voice fills her ear as my fingers fill her cunt. Her hand closest to me is in my hair while the other clenches the side of her dress, wadding it into her fist.

“O
h, god, that feels so good.” Reese moans, so I cover her lips with my hungry mouth and take it from her. I taste the wine on her tongue and imagine licking her wet, pink flesh.

“You’re going to come for m
e. Make whoever watches that camera jealous that they’re not me.” Leaning right to her ear, I whisper, “Make them wish their hand was in your hot, tight pussy.”

My thumb works
her harder as my soaked fingers move inside her. Cradling her in my arms, she unravels, writhing against me.
Fuck
, I want to bury my dick in her. Reese falls on my chest, so I slide my fingers out and pull down her dress.

It’s not only the amount of time it
has taken for her to invade my soul that is blowing my mind but the depth that it’s affecting me. I’ve never felt emotions this intense in my life.

Kissing the top of her head,
I hold her for several minutes before I sit her over on the couch and stand.

“Wait here a second. I’m going to have them call u
s a cab. If I don’t get you home soon, I’m going to be fucking you in public or having a taste.” Leaning over, I plant a hand next to each of her thighs and drag her bottom lip into my mouth. I suck on it, imagining the hood of her clit, before letting it go.

You drive me insane, Reese. So. Fucking. Insane.”

Chapter Twenty-One

Reese

“Do you think you’ll like it here?” I ask Holly as she stands from the chair in front of my desk.

Yes, everyone is nice. It’s weird since there are hardly any females, so please don’t leave me here alone.” Pleading eyes tag along with her smile. Uh, I guess it’s not the time to break the news to her that I will be quitting soon.

“Don’t hesitate to ask Kyle if you get stuck on entering those invoices. I’m
sure he will help you.” Her face reddens as she leaves my office.

Holly is twenty-three and has dark brown hair like Kyle’s. She’s also only a year younger than he
, and they seem to be hitting it off. Now, I have to hope that doesn’t cause an interference with either of their work performance.

Not that I’m one to talk when I have boss-man groping me every second
of the day. I need to call Becs to be sure we’re still on for dinner tonight. It’s Wednesday, and I’ve barely spoken to her since her date Friday with Travis.

He
calls me Punch Bug every morning, due to my car, and it has been no different this week, other than his charming smile has widened since Friday. She informed me yesterday that she’s seen him every day since.

I can’
t wait to get the lowdown and tell her about my weekend. The expression on her face, when I tell her about Dwayne, will be priceless.

“I found them
,” I say excitedly to Sarge before wiping the sweat from my brow.

He closes the lid on the cardboard filing box
he’s been looking through and props his bent arm on it. He’s on the right side of the storage unit, while I’m on the left. It feels as if it’s a hundred degrees in this metal building, and I notice that his breathing is labored.

“Thank you for bringing me out
.” After putting a lid back on the last box I was digging in, I dust my hands off. “These accounts payable reports from that year should be the last thing I need.”

“You’re the one we should be thanking. We should’ve hired a professional
, right after Krystal’s death, to come in and make sure that year was wrapped up correctly. Kyle didn’t have the experience, and we dumped it on him.”

We’ll get it organized and settled, Sarge.” I take a glimpse at my navy skirt, which is covered in webs and dust. “I believe it’s time I retire the dress clothes.”

The front of my white blouse has scattered lines
of dirt from where I rested the bottom of the boxes as I moved them, and it’s practically clinging to me from sweat. I’m grateful I wore a camisole under it today, or Sarge would be getting a peep show in this dingy place.

He rubs the sweat from his forehead with the back of his arm. “
Can I ask why you wear such fancy clothing to a place like Casteel?”

“I’m ac
customed to it, so I have a lot of dressy clothes. Also, it makes me feel feminine in a place overrun by males.” I give him a smirk. “Let’s get out of here.”

Sarge is quiet the first couple o
f miles back to the store. He has the air blasting in his Ford F-150, and I could easily drift to sleep.

“So, you like my brother.”

My head pipes up, his matter-of-fact words gaining my full attention. “Uh, yes. I do like him. I guess everyone knows that now.” I don’t need my words to be a question, either. He kissed me in the damn parking lot Friday evening.

“Yeah, it’s gotten around. I know it’s been no time at all, but I can tell he already cares for you
. I hope the two of you can continue dating, but if things don’t work out, please don’t feel as if you have to leave.”

Sarge never glances over, and I sense he’s nervous.

“I appreciate that.”

“I already told you that Ev is intense, and that means he feels deeply, so he can hurt deeply
, too.”

I suddenly become aware of the intentions behind this conversation as he pulls into the Casteel parking lot and turns off the ignition.

“Sarge, I have no intentions of hurting Everett. I care about him, too. No, I can’t say what will come of us in the future.

“Honestl
y, this is all moving so fast that it’s hard to even tell what is happening in the present, but I’ll try my hardest not to hurt him.”

Looking over, he smiles
at me.

“That’s all I needed to hear, and remember what I said; don’t let him run you off, either.
He’s one passionate fella. I’ve never seen anyone who wears his emotions on his sleeve like that boy.”

I can’t help but snicker as I climb out of the truck. He does know his brother well.
Once inside the store, I go straight to Kyle’s office and shut the door.

“Do you have a minute?” I ask.

“Uh, yeah, what do you need?” He looks curious but nervous as he moves a stack of papers, clearing some room on his desk.

I need some information from you. It’s from the year Krystal died.”

“Alright, shoot.” He leans back in his chair and laces his fingers behind his head.

“You said that after her passing, you took over payroll and payables, correct?”

“Yep. I had helped Krystal some with payroll, so I was able to figure that out, but I got behind on accounts payables and my receivables. I was working a ton of hours.”

“Someone permanent should’ve been hired right away to help you.”

“Sarge kept telling me that Everett couldn’t handle someone stepping right into her job and her off
ice. The old man, Dennis, started the following March and handled all the taxes for the previous year, or we would’ve been royally screwed.

“He then took over paying the bills, but he never seemed happy here and lasted a year and a half. It’s been six months now that I’ve been on my own again.”

My fingers rub my forehead as I imagine soaking in a bubble bath. All this time, they could have been paying two more employees on top of Kyle for not much more than what they’re paying me. It doesn’t make sense why they waited so long to take action.

The workload before she died was enough for at least three employees, so it’s no wonder you’re behind again. I’m going to work my way through payroll first, and make sure the error isn’t there.”

“I can’t imagine it would be
. I mean, ninety thousand dollars … I don’t see any way she could’ve made that kind of mistake without noticing.

Surely, if she transposed numbers, the total being off that much would’ve thrown up a red flag for her.”

Kyle
stares off, appearing in deep thought. “Maybe she entered that we paid out ninety-nine grand on an invoice when it was supposed to say nine grand.”

He
smirks. “I shouldn’t be prying, but since I had a hand in some of this, I want to be sure you aren’t suspicious of me doing something shady.”

“Gosh, no, Kyle. I don’t think you’re a dishonest person.”

He leans over his desk to be closer to me.

“I
will say that Krystal seemed nervous about me assisting her with things. She by far needed the help, but never once did she allow me to be involved with paying the bills. I thought that was odd. It seemed to me like she would’ve been more worried about me screwing up payroll.”

I feel
my stomach start to churn as the nagging suspicion I’ve had lately grows. I believe the discrepancy is from something dishonest.

“I have a bad feeling about this. L
isten, please keep this conversation between us. I will keep you in the loop as I figure things out.”

“No worries, Reese. Everett is like a different person since meeting you. He’s not a total grump anymore, so I sure wouldn’t be the one to disturb that.”

I take a deep breath and banish the thoughts that questions Krystal’s honesty, before I stroll down to Everett’s office.
