Aunt Bessie got home a couple of days later. It was sure nice to have her back, even if we did have to start eating all those vegetables again. But that’s just her way. She figures you’ve got to eat ’em, whether you’re sick or not.

By the way, they did find something wrong with that still after they got to town with it. You know that copper tubing that goes down through the tank of water, where the steam condenses into whiskey? Well, it turned out it wasn’t tubing at all. It was a solid brass rod.

The election? Oh. Curly got seven votes. That puzzled everybody for a while until they discovered six of ’em was absentee ballots that was cast the week before. Before his big rally, I mean.
