Eduardo gazed over at Sheila himself, “Your mother’s
been staying with me by the way; she’s been an angel taking care of
him while I go to work. Without her support, I don’t where I’d
be.”

Sheila burst into tears…Eduardo had been sincere.
Since the birth of her grandson, she watched Eduardo transform from
a self-centered maniac into a patient parent and coddle that boy
like there was no tomorrow. “Dear God, I knew this would be
hard—”

Eduardo reached over to his future mother-in-law to
caress her shoulder. Amber observed her mother as she patted
Eduardo’s hand accepting his touch. So much has happened! So much
to sink in! She had another son. A son with Eduardo! Her mother and
Eduardo were friends. They cared for one another! Good Lord, Dr.
Hayward never told her, made sure she was solid enough to deal with
the reality. She must have been sane enough to handle the
comprehension, a potent sense of happiness sunk into her heart. She
not only had Eduardo’s complete devotion, but the little boy...Good
Lord; the child created a family with the man she never stopped
loving.

Amber giggled, and then kissed her son’s forehead
once and again. “What’s my son’s name?”

“Peyton.”
