Chapter 23

A few meters from the front porch Eros appeared in front of me. He fell down from the roof. His body was bent and his posture became correct soon after.

“It’s you again!” I said severely. “You promised me you would not come after me again.”

“What is Bizak doing here?” he asked seriously.

“You must ask him that,” I responded uncivilly.

“I'm not kidding, Valkyrie.” He stared at my face.

“I don't know about Bizak’s life.”

“You two are very close,” he affirmed in fury.

“Are you watching me?” I asked, looking into his gray eyes.

“No,” he answered and looked down at the ground.

“How do you know we are so ... ‘close’?” I insisted.

“I am a vampire ...did you forget?”

“No.”

“Unfortunately ...you and I have a strong bond. There are certain things that happen to you that I see while you're away from me,” he confessed, staring at my face.

“I feel it, too.” I said gazing up at his face.

Then there was silence.

Meanwhile, the rock and roll concert’s  images came to my mind, where I saw Christian being dragged fiercely by Eros. He strongly held the boy's neck with his hands and then he strangled him.

“You killed Christian!” I said, after having the visions.

“Only now did you see that?” He laughed.

“Why did you kill him? You hadn’t drunk his blood!” I asked as I was confused.

“I would never drink the blood of that idiot!”

“You killed him to stay with Mirta ...Now I understand” I said convicted.

“Wrong!” he said and turned his back to me. “He awakened in me only hatred ...because he persecuted me in school all the time. I would not let a guy like him live and cross my path from time to time.”

“You did this to get closer to Mirta!” I stated full of anger at him. “You're a monster!” I shouted at him.

“What about you? You’re not?” he smiled slightly. “I know you killed your admirer Douglas in the classroom!” he said satisfied at my murderous behavior.

“I did not kill him because I wanted to ...I just couldn’t control my wish for blood.”

“What difference does it make now? He’s dead, Valkyrie.”

“Taking a life for you it is so normal!” I got goose bumps with his coldness.

“You should be accustomed to it ...Vampires are not nice!”

“I try to be different from our species!”

“You do not seem to be the daughter of the master.” He looked at me with disgust. “You not deserve to be the Princess of the Vampires.”

Eros became smoke and disappeared into the air.

Chapter 24

Every year there is a party in school, to celebrate the arrival of winter. The party this year was organized in the school yard. They made a bonfire in the center of the courtyard.

All round, various bamboos were stuck in the ground with colored flags hanging all around. Half a dozen stalls selling drinks, snacks and sweets were also there.

The party was crowded with people, many students were present. There was a small stage in the middle of the festival. A rock band was animating the environment.

I went to the party accompanied by Bizak. He was the only friend I had at that moment.

I was in my black dress with low neck and a little lace on my dress skirt. I put on black gloves to hide my pale fingers.

Bizak wore pants and a dark shirt.

We stayed away from people. But we could see every move at the party.

Bizak rubbed his fingers and a black rose appeared in the air. He took the flower and put it into my hair.

“This will match your dress,” he said as he fitted the ornament on my head.

I thanked him with an amiable smile.

“You look beautiful!” he said staring at my face.

I turned my gaze to the side and saw Eros arriving at the party and
Mirta was at his side. Another twinge of jealousy arose within me. It was inevitable for me to avoid feeling it.

Eros and Mirta looked at me and Bizak. Mirta should be thankful that I was accompanied by Bizak to the party.

I held the cold hand of the vampire. “Let's get out of here!” I pulled Bizak without giving him the right to choose.

We went to a location quite far from everyone. I didn't want to continue seeing Eros with Mirta. My escape would be the best solution to my anxious heart.

“The party is not pleasing you?” Bizak asked staring at my melancholy face.

“I should not have come to this party,” I confessed unhappily.

“As always ... ‘Eros,’ he said in enragement. “He ruins everything!”

“He is not the problem...and yes ... myself,” I said as I looked down at the floor. “I’m an idiot for liking him too much,” I confessed.

“I warned you that he would torment you.”

“I did not expect he could do this to me ... he being involved with Mirta. She has been my only friend.”

“Eros is capable of doing terrible things! You must be very careful with him.”

“He cannot do anything against me. I'm stronger than him.”

“He is more cunning than you and that's a powerful weapon.” Bizak held my face. “Although you are our princess,  you are still naive. You didn’t learn how to be a complete vampire.”

He bowed his head. He had planned to kiss my lips, but I backed off, preventing him from kissing me.

Chapter 25

Bizak went for a walk back to the party as I stayed in the same place, away from everyone.

I looked at the bonfire in the middle of the courtyard.  Fire was friendly. I raised my arms up and energy came out of my hands and immediately it was against fire.

The fire flared up. It had reached two meters in height.

Then there was an explosion. Everyone ran out of the party. They were desperate to find out about the catastrophe.

Bizak saw desperate people in front of him. He ran in the direction of a dark street, going behind them. It was a great time in favor of his hunt. He came walking in front of two girls.

“Are you afraid?” he said going towards the two girls.

“Who are you?” one girl asked as she looked very scared at him.

“I just want to show one thing to you two,” he said and his face became transfigured into a supernatural feature.

The two girls screamed to see the gray eyes and long teeth of the vampire Bizak. They tried to run away from him but Bizak prevented them, using his vampire power. They were neutralized.

He introduced his teeth into their necks, one at a time.

The taste of their fresh blood made him smile.

I stood in front of the bonfire. The fire was now gone.

No one was in the place besides me.

Eros came to the spot and saw a girl with her back to him as she was standing in front of the bonfire in her a black dress. He knew he'd meet me there.

Eros approached me and looked at the ashes on the floor.

“You caused all this?” He finally asked.

“I destroyed the party,” I said and my eyes were angry.

“Why did you do it?” he asked.

“It was because of you.” I stared at him. “I cannot stand it any longer!”

“What?” He asked, furrowing his brow at me.

“I cannot see you with Mirta,” I confessed to him.

“Why do you keep this up? I do not want your love!” His voice was aggressive.

“The way you cannot love me, I also cannot forget you,” I declared perplexed.

“You should forget me...your love just makes me ill,” he said.

“What can I do?”

“Forget I exist!” he ordered.

“You can prevent a love story with me, but you cannot impede me from loving you.” My voice sounded rude to his ears.

“Valkyrie! Understand...” his voice was delicate though he was a vampire.

“I will never understand!” I screamed, muffling his voice.

“Your love is detrimetntal to me.” He spoke quietly.

“Eros I need you.” I held his arm firmly. “You are the love of my life.”

He shook his head negatively at me. All I had said seemed to make no sense to him.

“I love you!” I insisted, staring into his fascinating eyes.

But Mirta arrived at the place. She did not like what she saw. Eros and I were near the bonfire.

“Eros!” she screamed at his back. “I was looking for you.”

Eros walked away from me and went on next to my rival.

“What are you doing here?” she asked him.

“Let’s go!” he ordered.

They both left the scene, embracing.

I remained motionless. I did not want to see the two together. Eros looked back over his shoulder and saw I hadn’t moved. I was motionless, held back by the cowardice of losing him to Mirta.

Chapter 26

I was standing on the highest point of a rock. It was an unknown place to me. Near the gloomy sky, a light reflected on my face. It was the full moon's light.

Bats flew over my head, from side to side, in a practiced dance.

My dress wanted to unfasten from my body and follow the accelerating breeze. An owl flew into the air and came against me. It rested on my palm. I was admiring it for a long time as I brought it next to my face. My lips met the owl.

It was submerged by a supernatural energy and it morphed into the human form.

I kissed the frigid lips of the vampire Eros.

My body was shocked by a stunning effect.

I wished that time would not end.

That it could be eternal.

Opening my eyes, I saw that I had dreamed. I wanted to be asleep into that dream forever, everything seemed so real.

The kiss ... the sensations ... I had never felt before.

Maybe I would never feel them in the real world.
