My heart was simply too full to speak, his words touching me so deep inside I couldn’t breathe. Instead I nodded and slid my body over his, pressing our cocks together as his body moved to rub against mine, and I kissed him. I kissed him with everything I felt for him, all the love and feeling I had for him in my lips and in the brush of my skin against his. He groaned as his hands gripped my arse, fingers digging into my cheeks and bringing me closer. We moved against each other, our silky, wet, heated cocks moving against one another in a symphony of pure primal need. His mouth grew greedier, his hands more grasping, and I gasped as he let my mouth go and bit the skin of my throat. The sting made my eyes water, and he chuckled huskily.

“Christ, I want to eat you, Toby. Consume every bit of you till you’re inside me. Keep you there forever.”

His hand reached down to grip our erections, and he pumped us both. I leaned against him, my mouth buried in his neck as his movements grew stronger and faster. I reached down, placing my hand over his to help him. Our loud pants echoed in the room. I looked down into his face. His eyes were half-closed in bliss, and I felt the sensations building in my body, prickling, intense heat that flooded my pores. My stomach clenched, my thighs tensed, and I cried out as I came, the hot fluid spurting over both of our hands as I shuddered and emptied myself across our stomachs and chests.

Rain give a grunt as he climaxed too, his teeth once again nipping my shoulder as we collapsed into each other, bathed in semen and sweat. I smelled his vanilla scent, the berry shampoo he used, the scent of his watermelon shower gel, and I smiled to myself. I loved the uniqueness of all Rain’s fruity scents combined together to make the man. The man I adored, heart and soul. I lay on top of him for a while, then rolled onto my back beside him. He turned over on his side and lifted himself on his elbow as he looked down at me. His fingers brushed sweaty strands of hair from my face.

“You look so hot in just that collar,” I murmured. “I think it’s just become my favorite fashion accessory for you.”

Rain laughed. “I’m glad you like it. I thought we’d had enough of the Dom/sub conversations to make it meaningful.” His fingers traced my lips. “You are such a sexy man, Toby Prentiss. I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to have you.”

I reached up and ran my fingers through his unruly hair. “Back atcha, Rain Engel. I never thought, that day in the storeroom when you mauled me, we’d end up here, like this.”

He huffed. “I did so not maul you. The way you swung your arse at me when I was walking behind you, you knew what it would do to me. You were a right tart.”

I shook my head fervently. “Nuh-huh. You definitely mauled me.” I gave a mock frown. “And you called me a bloody twink.” Rain snorted with amusement at that. We smiled at each other, and then he rolled over, reaching into his bedside table.

“Condoms and lube, Rain? I’m not sure I can manage it after an intense orgasm like that one.” I rolled over sleepily to watch him as he took a small box out, then looked at me.

“What’s that you’ve got? Some newfangled cock ring? Give a bloke a chance.”

He smiled and knelt before me on the bed, the box in his hand. His belly was still slick with our essences, and his skin was still flushed rosy from his orgasm.

“Not a cock ring. A ring of another kind.” He opened the box and turned it to face me. I gasped at the sight of two silver rings, side by side, gleaming in the box.

“I love you, Toby Prentiss. My sexy, feisty, lovable man. I wanted to ask you to be my husband one day. If you’ll have me, I’d like you to wear my ring. Let everyone know that you’re mine and I’m yours.”

His voice sounded breathless, even a little hesitant, as I sat up and knelt on the bed in front of him. My eyes were already filling with tears as Rain looked at me tenderly. “Rain, I love them.” I took one out of the box, looking at it with reverence.

“It’s white gold, Toby. I’m not that cheap a bastard that I’d give you silver.” His wry voice made me smile.

Then I remembered something and swallowed. “These aren’t the rings you were going to give to Tommy, are they?”

His blue eyes flashed dangerously. “Don’t be such a dick, Toby. Of course they aren’t. I sold those ages ago to get the money to put toward these.” His voice was annoyed. “Honestly, I don’t know how—”

He didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence because my mouth was on his. I kissed him as tears fell down my cheeks. He dropped the box and wrapped his warm arms around my waist, drawing me closer. His tongue met mine, and it seemed like hours before I let him go.

“I’m sorry, that was a stupid thing to say. But if you still want a stupid man, I’d be honored to wear your ring. I love you, my beautiful Rain. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my whole crazy life.”

His face lit up as he picked up the ring from the bedspread and took my left hand. The little circle slid onto my ring finger as if it was meant to be there, and I took a deep breath when he reached down and handed me the other ring. I did the same to his finger, and we grinned at each other as we held them up together.

“They look good,” Rain said in satisfaction. Then he frowned and glanced over at the window. “Toby, what the hell is that noise?”

I turned my head, trying to listen. Then I gave a loud bark of laughter and sprang off the bed. Rain watched me in puzzlement as I bounded over to the window.

“Toby, what the hell’s wrong with you?”

I waved outside. “It’s bloody raining! Look, it’s coming down in bloody buckets.”

Rain swore and got off the bed to stand beside me. We stood in awe as sheets of rain flooded the earth with welcome wetness. Over in the distance there was a flash of lightning. I turned to Rain.

“You did it, babe. You did a Rain dance, and the bloody heavens opened. You’re going to be a national hero in the morning. Ginny will make sure this makes front-page news.”

He nodded, his face gleeful. “I did, didn’t I? I can’t believe it. It’s raining, Toby. It’s about bloody time.”

He put his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him, and for a while we stood and watched the rain come down. I opened the window, letting the cold night air in, but I wanted to smell the rain. Rain shivered and turned to me.

“Come on. Let’s get in that shower and have a little more fun. I can think of a few things I’d rather be doing than watching the weather.” His eyes sparkled with mischief as he scampered away to the bathroom. I stood there, taking one more look outside. It was as if everything that had ever happened to me in my life had been driving toward this moment. Being here now with Rain, with him putting his ring on my finger. I raised it to my lips and kissed it, feeling a sense of completeness.

“I’m home, mum,” I whispered as the soft night breeze blew through the open window. “I have a man I love, and I’m finally home where I belong. I hope you can see me from up there. If Vince is with you, tell him hello from his son. I hope the two of you finally make peace, wherever you are.”

I shut the window and went to join my future husband.

was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. At the age of eight, her family moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, where she stayed for nearly thirty years before arriving back in the UK in December 2000. The first year Sue was back in the UK, it snowed on her birthday, as it did the day she was born in 19*coughs* and she swears this was England welcoming her back.

Sue’s career has mostly been in the financial services area and she specializes in what she calls “boring” compliance and regulatory work. That’s why she escapes into the world of writing and fantasy where she chats to her characters ad nauseum and is overjoyed when they reply. It beats the monotony of legalese, contracts, and legislation, and let’s face it, writing hot scenes between men can only be more rewarding.

Sue is a PAN member of Romance Writers of America and is a member of the Romantic Novelists Association in the UK. She is also a member of a rather unique writing group called the Talliston Writers Circle, whose “creator” is a man who is both a Bard and a Shaman. It makes for a really interesting evening and dinner conversation. She lives in the quaint village of Bocking in Essex, set in the countryside and not far from the sea, should she get the yen to eat oysters.
