“Fine,” he said.

“What?”

“Fine.

We can try it.”

“Try what?”

“To do it your way, to go out in public,
to have a real relationship, whatever it is you want.

But everything else will be my way.

Everything.

And you will stay by my side.

You will not leave it.

There will be no more antics, no more emails to reporters.

You will be with me at all times,
except for when you’re at school, and you will check in with me at
pre-determined intervals which I will decide.”

He stepped inside and looked around my apartment.

“No more apartment.

I don’t want your things here.

You will move in with me.

I will draw up a new contract.

You will agree to be mine, in every
single way.

You will let me
control your every move.”

He
pushed closer to me, his breath tickling my skin.

“You will exist only to please me.”

His lips grazed my neck as he
spoke.

“And if you break these
rules, Charlotte, you will be prepared.”

“Prepared for what?” I gasped as his
mouth brushed the hollow of my throat.

“To be punished.”

His lips slid into a devilish grin and
his eyes were hooded with that lustful look I’d come to recognize. He took my
face in his hands and kissed me hard and deep, our tongues moving in a sensual
rhythm before he broke away and led me to the couch.

He sat down and I went to sit next to
him, but he shook his head.

“Take
your pants off, Charlotte,” he said.

“Now.”

I began unbuttoning my jeans, my hands
shaking as I started to slide them down over my hips.

But Noah reached out and grabbed my hand, stopping me.

“Slower,” he growled.

I did as I was told, pulling my zipper
down slowly as my heart thudded in exquisite anticipation.

“Turn around.

I want to see your ass.”

I turned around, pulling my pants down
slowly, my pulse pounding as I stepped out of them.

I stood there, my back to Noah, bent over and awaiting further
instructions.

“Get on my lap,” he commanded huskily.

I turned around and laid down across his
lap, shivering as he ran his hand over my ass cheeks, caressing them
gently.

Then he grabbed the
waistband of my panties, pulling them down until my bare skin was exposed.

I was sure he would make me list my
transgressions, the reasons he felt the need to punish me, but he must not have
been in the mood for words.

He pulled back and slapped my right ass
cheek so hard I gasped.

“Stay quiet,” he said.

“Or I’ll make it hurt more.”

I bit my bottom lip to keep myself from
moaning as he continued his assault on my backside, the hits coming harder and
harder, until I could tell my ass was red and raw.

Finally, he released me.

“Stand up.”

I stood up and he pushed me down until I
was on my knees on the floor.

He
pulled out his cock out and brushed it over my lips, his eyes on mine, smoky
and blazing, the electricity between us sparking so intense I could almost see
it.

He pushed deep into me,
holding the back of my head as he entered my mouth.

“Keep your head still.”

I stayed still and he pushed further into
me, his shaft so thick my lips stretched around his hardness.

His hands pulled at my hair, guiding my
mouth over his cock.

He was in
control of the pressure and the pace, but I swirled my tongue around his head
as he pushed me down on him.

“Fuck,” he groaned.

“Yeah, baby, that’s so good.”

He was rock hard in my mouth, and I loved
the way he tasted, loved how it felt to give myself over to him, to let him take
control of me.

I longed to
be close to him, longed to connect with him, and when he was dominating my body
like this, I felt closer and more connected to him than I had to anyone in my
life.

“If you keep doing that, I’m going to
come right in your pretty little mouth,” he said huskily, and his words sent
excitement coursing through my veins.

I sucked harder, marveling at the fact that I could have that kind of
effect on this beautiful, amazing man.

“No, baby,” he said, grinning at my
enthusiasm.

He guided me to my
feet and pulled me close to him.

He slapped my ass again and then kissed me softly, his teeth nipping at
my bottom lip. He took my hand and led me to my bedroom, laying me down softly
on my side.

He undressed, then got into bed with me, pulling
me close, spooning me, my back pressed up against his muscular chest.

I could feel his cock hard against me as
he kissed the back of my neck.

“Tell me you’re mine,” he murmured.

“I’m yours.”

He pulled my leg up gently and I felt the
head of his cock pressing against my opening.

The torture was unbearable.

I tried to push down, but his hands were on my hips, holding
me steady.

“Stay still,
Charlotte.

Do you understand?”

“Yes.”

“Tell me.”

“I understand.”

His hand slipped down on my hip, and his
fingertips grazed my clit.

I
gasped as he touched the sensitive nub, and he immediately pulled away.

“Please,” I begged.

He didn’t say anything, just waited until
I quieted before he began guiding me down on his cock again, so slowly I
thought I was going to burst into flames before he was even all the way inside
of me.

I turned around and looked at him, the
way I knew he liked, my eyes locking on his.

“Please,” I breathed.

“Please, Noah, I want you to take me.

I’m yours, Noah.

I’m yours.”

“Fuck,” he gasped, losing all control as
he pulled me down on his cock in one hard, smooth motion.

He began thrusting inside of me, each
movement rougher and faster than the one before.

With every buck of his hips, his fingers grazed my clit,
sending shock waves of pleasure ricocheting through my body.

A second later I felt him shoot inside of
me, and the convulsions of his cock along with the pressure on my clit made me
come, too.

I collapsed against him, our chests
heaving together.

“Charlotte,” he said, pushing my hair
back from my face.

“Charlotte.”

I buried my face in his neck and inhaled
his scent.

His hands drifted
lazily over my back.

He didn’t have to say anything else.

I felt it, too.

We got dressed and ordered pizza.

I couldn’t help but grin as Noah opened
the pizza box and gazed down at it like he’d never seen anything so offensive
in his life.

He looked at me, a
‘you’ve got to be kidding me’
look and I tilted my head and raised my
eyebrows at him.

“Don’t be a food snob,” I admonished.

“I’m not a food snob, Charlotte.”

“This pizza is very good.”

I slid a slice onto a paper plate and
pushed it across the table to him.

“It was voted best in the neighborhood.”

I served myself a slice and fiddled with
my crust.

“What is it, Charlotte?” Noah asked,
sensing my discontent.

“Nothing, it’s just… ”

I swallowed.

“Don’t you think it’s strange that I know nothing about your
life?”

I felt him stiffen just a tiny bit, could
feel his walls start to rise.

“Trust
me, Charlotte, you do not want to know about my life.

It would only depress you.”

I took a tiny piece of bite of pizza,
chewed, swallowed, then took a sip of water.

“But I want to get to know you better,” I said.

“I mean, we… we’ve done all these
things together, and last night, in your office…” I trailed off.

I wanted to bring up the fact that he’d
told me he loved me, but I was afraid.

What if it had been said in the heat of the moment?

What if he hadn’t meant it after
all?

He hadn’t said it to me
again, and I didn’t want to risk him possibly taking it back.

“Fine.”

“What?”

“Fine, Charlotte.

What would you like to know about my
life?”

There was a wariness in his
dark eyes.

“Clementine,” I said.

“You dated her?”

“I’m not much for dating, Charlotte.

You should know that by now.”

“Oh.”

I twisted my napkin in my lap and waited for him to offer
more information, but none was forthcoming.

“She was your submissive then?”

“Yes.”

“You had a contract with her?”

“Yes.”

“And that’s why… that’s why you gave her
a bracelet?

The same bracelet you
gave me?”

“Yes.”

I took another small bite of pizza but it
felt like cardboard going down.

“Does that upset you?”

Noah asked.

“You seem upset.”

“I’m not upset,” I said.

“I just feel…unsettled.”

“Surely you knew I’d been with other
women?”

“I knew you’d been with other women. I
just hadn’t expected to come face to face with one who was wearing the same
bracelet you gave me.”

I averted my gaze and he reached down and
took my chin in his hands, titled it up so I was forced to look at him. “That
is the past,” he said.

“And you,
Charlotte, you… you are my future.”

I nodded, trying to ignore the jealous
feeling in my stomach, the raw and ugly envy that burned through my veins.

“Is there anything else?” Noah asked.

“Well, just… we should talk about other
things, too.”

“Like what?”

“Like our families.”

“My mother will be coming to visit New
York soon,” Noah said.

“I’m
assuming you’d like to meet her?”

My heart leapt.

“You still talk to your mother?”

“Yes, Charlotte.

She’s my mother.”

“I just assumed …” I trailed off.

I wanted to press him, wanted to ask why
he would talk to his mother after he’d hinted at the horrible things she’d done
to him.

But before I could, my phone rang.

It was in my bag, which was sitting on
the couch in the living room.

“You need to have your phone on you at
all times,” Noah admonished me.

“What if that were me calling?”

“But it’s not,” I said lightly.

“You’re right here.”

The side of his mouth twitched up into a
slight grin, and he shook his head.

I loved making him laugh, loved seeing him relax just a little bit.

It was enough to make me skip across
the room to my phone.

I pulled it out of my bag.

UNKNOWN flashed across the screen, dark
and ominous.

My heart stopped.

It didn’t mean it was Anonymous, I told
myself.

I got calls from
Unknown numbers all the time.

It
could be a bill collector, or someone from school, or the DA’s office calling
to set up a time for my deposition.

I pushed the green answer button and
raised the phone to my ear.

There was a silence, and I waited for the
familiar buzz of a recording or the friendly voice of a telemarketer.

But there was only heavy breathing.

A dark thick fear shot through me, and my
instinct was to hang up.

I saw Noah watching me from the dining
room, and I gave him what I hoped was a reassuring smile.

“Hello?”

I said into the phone.

My head had begun to throb and my mouth had gone dry.
