Odessa was soaked by the
time she made it back to her room at a nondescript French Quarter
Guesthouse. Instead of drying off, she dropped her cape to the
floor and stumbled into the four poster bed. The flannel sheets
felt so good against her wet skin. She burrowed under the down
comforter and fell instantly into a dark and dreamless
sleep.

A bolt of thunder roused
William Fletcher from the densest and darkness sleep he'd ever
experienced.

"That was one hell of a
bender," he said, running a hand through his blond hair and sitting
up with a jolt. "What the fuck?"

He couldn't feel his hair,
or the stone floor where he lay in a disheveled heap. Looking
around, he recognized the names of all his family who had passed
before him. His mother. His father. His grandfather. His
great-grandfather. His-- wait just a minute-- his eyes narrowed in
on the vault with his name engraved on the sterling silver
nameplate. There was his date of birth followed by his date of
death.

Date of death?

William glanced at his
wrist only to find someone had swiped his Rolex. He had no concept
of date or time. It certainly didn't feel like the stifling heat of
a New Orleans July in the Fletcher family crypt.

He glanced up and saw the
candle and the crystal chalice filled with absinthe. "Dess," he
said. "Dess was here."

Le Fée Verte started to
sing her love song and he remembered the last time he'd answered
her call. The drink had been exceptionally bitter no matter how
many sugar cubes he added. Dinera had tampered with the liquor. She
had added one of her potions and tried. Well, hell, judging from
where he was, she must have succeeded in poisoning him.

"Good riddance, Dinera." He
laughed, thinking he'd finally gotten what he so desperately
wanted, freedom from Dinera DeFliehr.

He knew that Odessa had left the
absinthe to fortify him and draw his spirit back into his body.
How, he wondered, was he supposed to be able to drink from the
chalice when as far as he could tell he had no physical
body.

Much to his surprise, just
by thinking it, the absinthe swirled down what would have been his
throat and almost instantly knocked some of the cobwebs off the
corners of his mind. Maybe this whole dead thing wasn't as bad as
he'd thought. That is, if he could find a way out of the tomb and
back to Odessa.

Just like that, he was on
the other side of the granite walls hovering right beside the dark
angel that watched over his deceased ancestors.

"So, all I have to do is
think it?" he said, as if the statue had all the clues to the
universe.

He could have sworn the angle winked
in response.

"Dess. I want to find my
Odessa."

With that single command he
found himself swirling through the gates of the cemetery and across
the familiar streets of the Quarter. How he'd loved to escape the
social boundaries of the staunch Garden District and sneak away to
the French Quarter. The booze. The pretty tourists all too eager to
entertain a handsome fair haired teen. Those were the days. Before
he'd gone to Europe and been bespelled by that bitch of a witch
Dinera.

Will decided he'd continue
this next journey as he'd done when his feet actually touched the
streets. Living life with no regrets. He'd had a good life. He'd
traveled the world. He'd had all the money he could ever want. He'd
had the respect of his peers. Most importantly, he'd had the love
and devotion of the most beautiful woman to have ever crossed his
path.

"Dess," he said, her name
fluttering like the wind that blew him closer and closer to where
he knew she would be. "My Odessa."

A group of costumed kids
ran past him. The Quarter was alive with costumed lovers in all
stages of the dance of romance. According to the preponderance of
pumpkins and orange lights it had to be Halloween, or what his
witchy women referred to as Samhain. That had to be why Odessa had
lit the candle in the Fletcher family crypt. It was her birthday
and most favorite holiday.

He stopped in front of a flower stand
and instead of going for the roses he eyed a lilac orchid. Odessa's
favorite flower. The orchid flew into his arms and he continued
down the street wondering if any of the French Quarter revelers
would notice a flower floating through the crowd.

Obviously not, since no one
stopped to stare as he made his way to the Guesthouse where Odessa
always stayed when she came here to see him. It wasn't like he had
to ask the attendant where to find her. He knew she would be in
their room on the top floor. The suite with the balcony overlooking
the Mississippi River.

How he loved the mighty
Mississippi. She might have gotten darker and soiled with
pollution, but to him that would always be the water of his youth.
When he could lay eyes on the Mississippi he knew he could always
find his way home.

The whole ghost thing came
in handy when it came to making the leap up onto the balcony and
seeping though the French doors. He sat the orchid down on the
table beside a blue plastic bowl. Something called to him to peel
off the lid. He should have been appalled by the contents, knowing
without being told that it was his heart. Yet, it didn't bother him
that Odessa had taken his heart right out of his chest. Better her
than Dinera.

In his excitement to get to
Odessa it had taken him a moment to realize that his body was
starting to materialize. He could see his hands. His legs. The
gaping hole where his heart should have been. None of it upset him.
He lifted the heart from the bowl and slipped it back into
place.

Whoa! The sensation sent
him staggering to the nearest chair. His chest heaving from the
pulsing sensation coursing through his body. He fell to the floor,
needing a few moments to adjust to his body being his
again.

After a deep inhale he
stood to stare at his reflection in the French doors. He was whole
again and looked as alive as he'd been on the night he'd first met
Odessa. Just thinking her name made his penis stiffen in
anticipation.

"Odessa," he said, savoring
his restored human form.

William pushed open the
door to the bedroom and found Odessa sprawled across the bed in all
of her glorious nakedness. She must have kicked away her covers
while dueling with the demons that often invaded her dreams, he
thought, as he stood over her spellbound by her amazing
body.

Her skin was still so pale
that it looked as if she never said hello to the sun and that red
hair surrounded her like a halo. Despite bearing his child some ten
years ago her body was flawless with a flat stomach and deliciously
round pert breasts.

He sat down beside her,
running a hand over the smooth curve of her bottom. How he loved
her shimmering copper tresses and the delicate scent of her jasmine
shampoo.

"Odessa," he whispered before nuzzling
his lips against her neck.

When she didn't stir he bit down into
the tender flesh at the nape of her neck.

"Will." She sighed and blinked up at
him.

"Yes, my dear," he said.

"Will!" She sat up, her eyes widening
and her face flushed. "You're really here. You can back to
me."

Those emerald eyes sent a
surge of heat straight to his dick. She reached out and caressed
his cheek. Her fingers absolutely tingled against his skin. His
body felt more alive than it had ever felt when he'd been among the
living.

She kissed him savagely, locking onto
his mouth and eating him up with desire. If there was anything that
could draw him back to earth it would have been her mouth on
his.

"My beloved." She pulled away,
drinking him up with those enchanting eyes.

Bewitched. Bewildered.
Beguiled.

He didn't understand what had happened
to him. How he'd died. How he'd come back from the dead. As long as
he had Odessa back in his arms nothing else mattered.

Odessa couldn't believe her
eyes. She had to touch him. Kiss him. Hold him in her arms. That
familiar heat stirred deep inside her, awakening a part of herself
she thought to have died right along with Will. She felt his mouth
upon hers, their bodies locked together in a heated embrace. She
knew she wasn't dreaming when her leg pressed against his
erection.

William, her Will was back. Her spell
had worked.

She tore her mouth away
from his, staring into his eyes and running a hand through his
blond hair. She flicked her tongue into his dimple. He laughed and
smiled so brightly that she had to latch back on to his mouth,
kissing him like she was starved for his tongue.

Slowly she grazed her teeth
down the side of his neck, biting hard enough to draw a trickle of
blood. Ghosts didn't bleed. That meant he was real.

He moaned with pleasure as
she lapped up his blood and then trailed her lips across his chest.
She ran her tongue over the scar watching it fade with every kiss.
Soon the scar disappear just as if she'd sucked it right off his
chest.

With that taken care of,
her eyes went straight to her favorite prize. His dick. No, make
that her dick. His penis had always belonged to her and she
couldn't remember it being any harder.

She stroked his cock with her hand,
trying to resist the urge to climb on and fuck him silly. No, that
was going to have to wait. Now that she had him back Odessa wasn't
going to so easily give in to her desires.

Will had always had the most
magnificent penis. She loved everything about his dick. The taste.
The feel. The touch. His was the perfect cock. Always there to do
with as she desired.

Odessa ran her tongue over
the head of his penis, slowly teasing her way down his shaft to
plant feathery kisses on his balls while she stroked his hardness
in her hands.

Will squirmed with pleasure. "If you
keep that up I don't know how much longer I'll be able to
last."

She smiled up at him. "We have an
eternity to allow me to make you hard all over again."

With that said, she took
him into her mouth. He tasted so good. To have just recently had
been a corpse he smelt like a whiff of heaven, all musky and pure
heady sex.

"Dess," he cried, running his fingers
through her hair. "Dess."

Odessa drank up every drop
savoring the sweetly salty taste of his sex.

"I told you," he said, pulling her up
for a kiss.

"It's okay," she replied, never
feeling more okay than she had in that very moment.

They lay together in
blissful silence just savoring the heat of their
reunion.

"My beloved," Odessa purred
in contentment. "You're back, right where you belong."

"Yes." Will kissed her hair, savoring
the intoxicating scent and sweet softness of Odessa's fiery auburn
tresses. "How did you do it? How did you bring me back to
life?"

"Magick," she said, looking up at
him.

Her smile made his heart
hammer, especially when her hand traced the place where the scar
had once been.

"I don't even want to know how you got
ahold of my heart."

Her skin reddened before she ducked
her head, kissing at his chest to where her hair spiraled over her
body.

"I've always had your
heart," she whispered under the blanket of her hair.

"Figuratively, yes." He
stroked her hair much like one would to soothe a kitten, or in
Odessa's case an angry lioness.

She sat up and met his gaze, her
emerald eyes shining with an absolute certainty. "I did what had to
be done to bring you back to me."

"Dess, I have never for one second
doubted your love."

"Then just trust me." She leaned in to
kiss away his doubts.

It was impossible to think
straight with Odessa's mouth on his. The way she poured her energy
into him was nothing short of magickal. The only thing better than
her tongue in his mouth was his dick inside of her, where it had
always belonged. He pulled her on top of him, running his hands
down her back to find the smooth crescent of her ass.

"Aah," she sighed in
appreciation, as his dick found it's way home.

She arched her back and
tossed aside her hair to lay her body bare for his viewing
pleasure. It was as if she hadn't aged a day since he'd first met
her some twenty years before. Her perfect little breasts bounced to
the rhythm of her thrusting hips. That smile of hers so genuine.
Her body so very real on his.

Will reached for that spot
between her legs and stroked her clit to match the intensity of the
way she rode him. In only a few seconds she cried and screamed with
ardor. He'd never seen a woman climax the way Odessa did. He wasn't
sure where she went when the passion overtook her, but just knowing
he sent her there totally did it for him. She collapsed atop him.
Her lips found his and she kissed him until she pulled away panting
and gasping for breath.
