EPILOGUE
~ Four Months Later ~
Shakira giggled.
“Shush,” Nathan hissed.
“You shush,” she returned bursting into another giggle when his fingers tickled the back of her knees.
“You’re going to get us caught,” he warned; which made it funnier for Shakira. This was just not the sort of a thing a girl like her did. Fumbling with the luxurious folds of her dress, Nathan hissed. “Who the hell made this thing?”
“Givenchy, Nathaniel, Givenchy,” Shakira said doing her best Edya impression which only made her erupt into more giggles that reverberated in the small dark space.
“We shouldn’t even be doing this.” Nathan muttered as his hands stopped inching up her thighs. “You’re drunk.”
“No, I’m not.” She didn’t need night-vision goggles to know he was giving her one of his patented eyebrow raised. “Okay, I’m a little bit tipsy. But it’s your fault! You’re the one who convinced me that this was the best time to break my no-alcohol rule.” She tapped his shoulders and regally ordered, “Now git, Master Nathaniel. I’m drunk and I’m horny.”
There was a pause and then he laughed. “Yes, sir.” In short order, he had her dress bunched high up to her waist. His zipper hissed in the darkness as he tagged it down. “Come here, my lady.” With one swoop, he lifted her in his arms so that her legs wrapped around his waist. Holding her weight easily, he braced Shakira against the wall for balance as he pushed her thong aside then placed his cock at her opening. She relaxed eager for his possession but instead of plunging in, he whispered, “You’re sure we’re not going to hurt her?”
“Yes, I’m sure,” she said, bearing down on him. “Yasss,” she hissed as his cock nudged then pushed its way into her. His shaft thickened inside her, filling her to bursting point until she was sure he couldn’t fit anymore – and then he did. Her nails dug into the luxurious fabric shielding his shoulders as she stammered, “And…how…how…do you know it’s not a him?”
His “I just…know,” was a broken groan as he started to move inside her.
“There,” Shakira encouraged as she contracted her pussy muscles around him.“Right there.”
“Shush,” he urged as he covered her mouth with his. His tongue stroked hers in rhythm to the beat his shaft was playing within her. They had done so much of this in the last few months yet every experience seemed newer than the last one. She would never tire of Nathan and his loving. She knew she’d want him every day and every night, for the rest of her life. Today had sealed that promise.
Ah.
Shakira bit her lips as the heat swelled inside her. She writhed helplessly in his arms, matching his frantic rhythm with her own, bearing down when he rose up. Her juices coated him as her walls massaged and caressed his rock hard heated length. It felt so good.
He swallowed her cries as she arched into the sweet release streaking through her body. His measured strokes never ceased even as her orgasm swept through her. It was a wildfire charring any restraints she had and spreading through her until she glowed with pleasure.
“I love you, Kira.” With one last hard plunge, Nathan released his seed into her.
“They should give you an award or something,” Shakira murmured a few minutes later as she stroked his hair.
“For what?” His voice was muffled between her breasts.
“Best lover of the year.”
He chuckled before lifting his head and then lowering her slightly so he could press his lips against hers. “You’re reward enough.”
“Aw, you say the nicest th-”
“Where are they?” Edya’s strident tones slashed into Shakira’s words. Both Shakira and Nathan stiffened. Even with the benefit of wood barring them from her sight, Edya’s irritation seared in the hallway. “This is unacceptable.”
Lowering Shakira to the floor, Nathan whispered, “We sh-”
Shakira slapped her palm over his mouth and hissed, “shush.”
“Oh, relax, Eddy.” Eve’s happier tones rang close to the door. “They probably just ducked out for a little bit of fun.”
“Don’t call me Eddy.” Edya’s clipped words were icier than a glacier and her footsteps abrupt and determined as they clicked along the hallway - then stopped.
Move. Move. Move.
Shakira begged. She couldn’t think of anything more embarrassing then being caught by her mother-in-law doing the dirty in one of her closets.
Edya didn’t move. If anything she seemed to be pacing just in front of the closet. “And this is their wedding. They are supposed to be out there entertaining their guests not…having fun.”
“Chill out, lady,” Eve drawled, more than a hint of amusement in her voice. “You’re going to give yourself a heart attack.”
“This is unacceptable.” Nathan’s mother paid no heed to the other woman. Her voice rose as she expressed her woes, “First they try to get themselves killed-”
“But that worked out,” Eve interrupted. “You told me that you liked having the paparazzi at your gates, begging for pictures of Shakira and willing to pay millions to get her story on how she blew the biggest baseball scandal wide open. Good for business, remember?”
“Don’t remind me.” Edya sighed. She’d reveled in the notoriety, determined to milk it for all it was worth. However, despite her best attempts, Shakira and Nathan had insisted that the only people they were talking to was the police and the judge when trial-time came.
After
she’d organized for interviews with Times, Essence, The Guardian…all the major magazines? Disappointment was not a big enough word for Edya’s reaction.
She continued, “Then they have…the
audacity
to get pregnant before I can get them to the altar.”
“I thought you said you wanted a grandchild,” Eve reminded her.
After the first hiccup of the meeting where Edya had pronounced Eve a hoochie and Eve had told her that her surgery-fund would be better spent on removing the stick in her ass than on her face, the two women had somehow come to a cease-fire. Shakira thought it was the strangest thing that her mother and Nathan’s were…
friends
. She still couldn’t stop shaking her head.
Ignoring Eve’s reminder, Edya pushed on with in her rant. “…then Nathaniel insists on a small wedding.” Small in this case was two hundred guests. She added, “Now, they’re leaving their guests unattended while they… ”Her words trailed off as if the thought was just too horrifying to voice. “This is not the way a Landa-Hollis behaves.”
“Okay, Queen Landa-Hollis,” Shakira’s mother soothed. “Calm down. Calm down.”
“You do not understand, Eve.”
“Probably not but I know just the thing that will calm you down.”
There was slight rustling and then Edya exclaimed, “Is that an alcohol flask?” The horror in her voice was so forceful that Shakira let out a small giggle and Nathan’s body shook with mirth.
“It’s medicinal,” Eve offered, “Take a swig.”
“I am not touching that.”
“Just one gulp,” Eve wheedled. “It will make you feel so much better.”
There was no way Edya was falling for that.
“Fine.” There was a pause and then Edya burst into a fit of coughing culminating in a, “That’s disgusting.”
It drew even more silent laughter from Nathan and Shakira.
“Even Jesus drunk wine,” Eve dismissed. “Now, I know something that will make you feel even better. You like money right?”
“Right.”
“Well, I have a friend who just discovered the remains of one of the lost monarchs of Singapore,” Eve explained. “It’s the greatest find of the century and an amazing opportunity for a savvy investor like you.”
“There are no lost monarchs of Singapore,” Edya’s voice sounded dubious as best – but it was also fading. The two women walking away
“That’s what the history books say but did you know…” Their voices drifted away. The moment they were gone, Nathan and Shakira released loud chuckles that reverberated in the small room.
“Your mother is ruining my mother,” he said between laughs.
“Oh lord, did you hear her coughing.” Shakira clutched her stomach as giggles rippled through her body. “And then Eve is trying to con her.” It was enough to draw another chortle from her. “lol. Maybe we should tell her.”
“No,” Nathan sniggered. “A little Eve will be good for Mother.”
Still amused, they righted their clothes and then escaped from the closet. The wedding reception was in full swing. London and the Xin Monsters were on stage mesmerizing the crowd with their music and pulling them to the dance-floor.
Danny appeared to be sharing his time between three ladies who were all intent on grinding against him. Even Zeke had gotten tagged into the fray. He was swaying stiffly next to Miss Wendy who looked like she was having a seizure on the floor. Wayne had snagged one of Nathan’s cousins and was demonstrating the shuffle. Shakira still felt a little bit guilty that she’d ever suspected him after all he’d done for her. The only consolation was that he’d never known.
She still didn’t know why Charlie had sent the thumb-drive to her address– she probably never would. Nathan was of the opinion that he’d never actually intended for her to see what was on it but knew that her apartment was the last place any of his partners would look for it. But, only Charlie could confirm that - and he was gone. Karyn had confessed to disposing of his body the same way she’d done with Gates and Rochelle.
By the time Edya and Eve got back to the ballroom, Nathan and Shakira were innocently dancing right in the middle of the crowd. It was almost midnight before the crowd shuffled the newly wedded couple to their limousine. With one last warning to London to make sure Eve didn’t get into their house, Nathan and Shakira bid their guests goodbye and entered the long vehicle.
Settling into its luxurious seat, Shakira asked, “So Mr. Hollis, where are you taking me for my honeymoon?”
“It’s a surprise, Mrs. Hollis.” Nathan shrugged out of his pristine white tux jacket and flung it on the adjacent seat. “You’ll see when we get there.”
“Please,” she wheedled as she inched closer to him. Placing her fingers on his knee, she started to walk to tips towards his groin. “I’ll make it worth your while.”
Nathan responded right away. His cock swelled against his midnight black pants and he slouched on the seat as if trying to get closer to her wandering hands.
“You know you want to tell me.” She started to walk her fingers backwards but he slammed his palm over her hand to prevent that from happening and unbidden her lips curved in a smile. “Please.”
“Okay,” he yielded easily. “Drum rolls please!”
“Tutututututu” she mimed laughingly, beating the air with her free hand as if playing on drums.
“We’re gooooing…” he dragged the words out to prolong the suspense.
Shakira pleaded, “Tell me.”
His mouth curved in a teasing smile. “We’re going toooo…”
“Nathan,” she whined in frustration.
“We’re going to…” He took a deep breath and then with a smile pronounced, “…Jamaica.”
“Jamaica?” Shakira tested the word tentatively on her tongue as her stomach fell to her kid-heels and her heart began to beat a faster tune.
Please tell me my mother had nothing to do with this. Please
.
“Eve showed me the coolest resort out there,” Nathan said enthusiastically, sending her hopes crashing to the ground, “and I just knew you’d love to visit it.”
“What?” She gave him a horrified look. “You took trip planning advice from my mother.” She gaped in shock. “My mother who conned you less than six months ago?”
“No, no, babe. Don’t worry about it. I got this. ” Nathan rushed to soothe her worried. “I checked every hotel she recommended, talked to the travel-guide, checked to make sure we got a good car…”
He-did-not-know-her-mother.
Shakira shook her head. “And you call me an easy target?”
They were probably going to find that the hotel was nothing more than someone’s barn, the travel guide was a farmer and the car was his tractor. She swiped her hand over her face. “This is going to be bad.”
In the face of her distress, Nathan’s “No, it will be good. I promise,” seemed less confident. Cautiously, he tried, “Jamaica has some really good beaches.”
She whipped her head towards him. “What would make you think that a honeymoon on a beach and near water would sound even remotely romantic to me? I nearly drowned a few months ago.”
Nathan scratched the back of his neck giving Shakira his ‘oops’ look while she took a shaky breath, already dreading the mess they were just about to land in.
This was going to be bad.
Really bad!
