“Family, thank you for joining us at our home today,” he said and was met with a round of clapping.

“We have asked you here today to witness a moment that we never thought would happen. We have found a mate!” He exclaimed with joy.

This declaration was met with loud cheers and howls from the group.

“This wonderful woman, Erin has made my brother and I the happiest alphas in the worlds. Join us in celebration!” he finished dramatically.

The group went wild, transforming and howling. She kissed both men passionately before Cal let her know that she could go change, he and Oden would take care of everything else. She went into the bedroom and stripped down to nothing. She decided to go out with nothing but a sheet.

The room had been transformed into a wonderful scene. Tall candelabras were lit in a circle. Where the table had been, it was now empty except for a pile of blankets. She could make out the people and wolves in the dark but not enough to tell which ones were which. To her surprise, Cal stood in the center of the room, naked and erect, waiting for her. Next to him stood Oden. She was instantly turned on at the thought of being taken again by them, and it gave her courage.

She let the thin sheet fall from her body as walked into the middle and the waiting pair. As she walked, she heard low growls coming from the circle. She didn’t even glance at them, she had heard those same noises coming from Cal the night before when they made love, it meant that they were turned on, and it gave her pride. Cal met her in the middle with outstretched hands.

“Are you ready my love?” He asked her, smiling.

She wasted no time with modesty, and she grabbed his hand and moved it to her already slickened garden. The sensation made her moan as she spoke, “I am always ready for my men.”

His member jumped in response, and he smiled at her brazenness.

He held her hands as he laid down on the bedding and she climbed on top of him. His shaft, waiting to penetrate her, now found her entrance and slowly he let himself be guided by her. For several moments, she moved on top of him passionately with her eyes locked onto his. When she felt him growing harder, she tightened her grip on him, but he pulled away.

“Not yet,” he whispered and smiled.

She looked at him in surprise; she was not dripping onto the blankets, she needed a Denmark inside of her. He guided her once more onto the blankets but this time, she understood when he pushed her onto her hands and knees. Her breath quickened with anticipation. She first felt large, strong hands wrapping around her waist, then she felt a long and hard member probing at her entrance before it found its mark and penetrated her hard.

She screamed out in pain and pleasure, as she did so, her mouth was filled with Cal’s throbbing member. She sucked and grasped his buttocks for stability as Oden vigorously pumped inside of her. Once more she felt his shaft start to grow and bulge inside of her already swollen garden, it was almost more than she could take and she screamed out as she climaxed in a mixture of pain and pleasure once again. She felt Cal’s release come into her mouth and Oden coming from behind her. He exploded into her, and she felt him dripping from her.

They all collapsed into a pile on the floor, spent. She could hear the other shifters around her making love to their mates also, but she didn’t care. She had never been so happy in all of her life. She knew at that moment that she would love the Denmark brothers forever, as long as they would have her at least.

Like he was reading her mind, Cal turned to her and spoke, “Erin, I love you more than I have ever loved another woman in my life.”

She felt the tears starting to rise. She started to speak, but Oden spoke first.

He looked at her and said, “And I too Erin, I love you now and I will forever.”

It was more than she could take, she embraced both men and started to cry as she spoke, “I love you too, and I always will.”

They kissed passionately. They knew that their love was unique and that they would spend forever together as a pack and as mates.

Saved By The Wolf

Chapter 1

The apple in her hand had wrinkled skin and a wax-coated shine.  When she bit into it, the meat was mealy and the juice going sour.  Part of her regretted this choice, a gas station Gala apple instead of a bag of chips, but she closed her eyes to take another bite.

Just pretend it’s fresh
, she told herself.  A fresh Granny Smith, not entirely ripe, plucked sun-warm off the tree in the early days of fall.  Where she lived with her parents had fruit trees in plenty, cherries and plums and green apples.  She loved the summer months, competing with birds for the swelling plums, crisp flesh snapping between her teeth.  Her youth saw her thin and beautiful, much-desired and a sought-after object of desire by all the boys; she remembered a flowery spring skirt blowing in the wind around her smooth thighs, and the high school Senior who approached her as soon as the breeze died down and he could remember to speak.

And now here she was, 700 miles away, a bushel of apples heavier, three years later, out of time and out of money.

Kori was running away, had been running away for weeks now, parceling out a handful of dollars as long as she could.  Her last fifty cents spent on a crappy apple, and now she couldn’t even afford the pay restrooms.

Pretend it’s good.  Pretend it’s okay.
Tears stung her eyes beneath her closed eyelids, every dreadful mouthful sinking to the bottom of her stomach.  She sat on the curb in front of the convenience store, her knees drawn up as she watched families and couples stride by her perch with no regard for her stained clothes or the mussed state of her hair.  No one noticed.  No one cared.  No one spared her a hello or even a taunt.  The no-taunting thing surprised her the most.  Years of nothing but, and now she was at her absolute worst and no one would spare her a look long enough to tell her she was disgusting?

Was she disgusting?  She didn’t know anymore.  She was too tired to care.

Cars flowed in and out of the parking lot as the sun sank down toward the red Nevada horizon, circling the gas pumps like buzzards around the corpses of long-dead dinosaurs.  People came, people left.  An employee stood uncomfortably close, stepping on her hand once as he smoked.  He gave no apology, and she expected none.  With Reno only a stone’s throw in the distance, these people had no time for someone as sedentary as Kori was right then.  Life moved on around her, without her, just as it had since the day she started dating Jason.

The apple was only a core in her hand now, rimmed with seeds.  She stared down at the seeds and vaguely recalled a bit of trivia:  apple seeds have cyanide in them.  Would it be enough, she wondered.  Could it ever be enough?

Weariness settled in her bones.  Maybe if she had dissected Jason’s behavior on their first date, the way she dissected this pathetic excuse of an apple’s appearance, she might have seen his anger at her slight lateness –because of traffic, of all things- as an omen of many angry beratements to come.  Three years younger, and a thousand years stupider, she hadn’t.

And now she was here.

Her ride was long gone, the gruff man who let her hitch a ride in his truck snatching all of her money away as she tried to count the bills to pay him, leaving her with only the change left in her pockets.  She doubted any of these families with children, the excited couples, the eager-to-arrive and the impatient-to-leave would let her ride for free, or even if she had any money.

Now what?

She couldn’t sit here forever.

Dropping the core onto the path, Kori heaved herself to her feet and just started walking.  Her empty backpack thumped mockingly against her shoulders with every step, now that she sold all her other changes of clothes.  Her cell was pawned the moment she left town, all her jewelry traded or stolen along the way.  Anything to get as far away from Jason as possible.

Even thinking about him made her walk faster, until she was almost running.  She had no idea what this little off-ramp town was called, but the streets were busy and narrow, the streetlamps hazy.  Every shadow turned into her boyfriend, swiping at her with dark ethereal arms.  Her arms pumped.  She was gasping, breathing raggedly, puffing out hateful curses at herself for not exercising until her life depended on it.

She had seen the news, caught glimpses of her face in the middle of newspapers others read on the bus or train back when she could afford to take them.  Jason was playing her family, playing the entire country as he led a hunt to find his precious girlfriend.  She wanted to scream at teary-eyed reporters, “He wouldn’t even let me read!  We haven’t had sex in months!  I sleep in the garage!”  But who would ever believe her, a hysterical young woman just out to cause trouble like her kind always did?  They would tell her she should be grateful she even had someone who would look at her, what with her weight and all.  Never mind that Jason was the cause of that, too.

“Oh!”

She tripped over a bump on the sidewalk, ripping her jeans at the knees as she collapsed forward onto concrete.  Her palms stung, grit sticking in her skin.  She stayed there for a moment, head down, breasts heaving, trying to be grateful for the chance to rest.

Two pairs of hands grabbed her, on her hair and backpack straps, around the neck and beneath her shoulder, dragging her roughly to her feet.  She cried out in pain and surprise, trying to kick out as a hand thrust deep into her pocket and grabbed her empty wallet.

“Hold her still,” someone whispered low and quick.  The speaker, a slender teenaged something with indistinct features, thumbed rapidly through the folds of her wallet as their silent companion held onto her with cruel strength hard enough to bruise.

The moon was up, having relieved the sun.  Glistening white halos of light revealed narrower streets than before.  The assailants stood just at the front of an angled alleyway, hidden from sight the direction she’d come; beneath her feet, the road was perfectly smooth.  The bump from before now a tapping, impatient foot, having filled its tripping quota of the day.

“Dammit!” the person with her wallet swore, dropping it into the dust.  They yanked off her backpack, and then immediately threw that on the ground also.  “Shit, bitch, where the hell do you keep your money?”

Frozen with terror, she couldn’t reply.

Hands roamed her curves, all the way up to pull on her ears.  She whimpered, terrified, knees going weak, only the strength of the one behind her keeping her on her feet.  “No jewelry either?”

“I don’t….I don’t have…any…” she choked out.  Her bangs hung in her face.  Tears slid down her cheeks.

“Hey,” the quiet person holding her hands behind her back spoke up.  “Maybe we should…”

The one touching her brightened visibly, pale face widening into a space.  “Sure!  At least we’ll be getting
something
tonight!”

Please, no,
she thought incoherently, as a pair of hands went for her zipper; a third hand reared back, forming a fist crowned with brassy knuckles.

From very far down the alley, something snarled.  An enormous, hulking shape shot out of the darkness and slammed paws-first into the pair of attackers, knocking them both flying.  Kori fell onto her butt and then put her hands over her head, cowering as she peered between her fingers.  Barking and growling like thunder in a storm, a massive shaggy dog lunged past her with a flash of moonlight on fangs, snapping at ankles and wrists.  Screaming, one of the attackers shoved the other back to the ground as they tried to stand together.  The dog grazed teeth along the fallen one’s arm, and then sailed into a massive leap after the other, tangling his legs and knocking him down hard again.

Snorting and prancing, the dog ran in wide circles around them until the pair found their feet; barking explosively, it chased after them like a shepherd rushing sheep on home.  As soon as they were gone, the dog turned and came back, standing over her with the moon pouring silken light across its pelt.

Tail held down low and ears pricked up high, Kori slowly realized the dog was a wolf.  A wolf far more wild and free than she had ever seen at a zoo.

And then, it wasn’t.

Donovan Kane stood there, looking down at her with gleaming eyes.  And she only knew who he was because the man was impossibly famous.

Chapter 2

He knew that look.  He saw it often.  In fact, he prided himself on being able to replicate it at social gatherings where he needed to win over the support of investors by being his charming self.

Oh, yes.  Donovan was very familiar with the stare of recognition on this young woman’s face –she certainly seemed the typical female who kept track of his every move through magazines, and called him her “husband” as a private joke amongst friends- but this might have been the first time in his life he didn’t want to be recognized.

I should have just stayed out of this
, he thought, but what kind of monster could have walked away from what he witnessed about to happen here?  Not him.  He might have been a werewolf, but a monster he was not.

But now what?  Save her just to kill her?  That struck him as bitterly unfair.

He crouched down in front of her.  She hadn’t moved, only stared around herself as though searching for some sign of the attack dog who saved her, struggling to make the connection.  “Hey,” he grunted, bringing her attention back to him.  “Are you okay?”

She blinked.  Her eyes were flat and pale in the shadows cast by the high alley walls, but something said their color just might be beautiful in any other setting.  The rest of her was certainly no catch and her hair was too short for her round face, but he had to admit he appreciated her curves.  Curves everywhere, miles of touchable slope and rise.  Compared to the sharp angles and cartoonish proportions of the women he was used to seeing, this soft woman made for a welcome change in pace.
