I write
I sigh
I can
And do
Hope and pray
That someone
At some point
May brighten my day
At once
At night
The dark
No light
My mind a blur
Confusion astir
Words not worth writing
Some might say
It’s clear as I create this verse
That poetry can be
As deep or light as I want to see
Whether or not it has meaning to me
To you, to them, to everyone
I sigh
I write, I …
Pray
Enter the Light
Darkest shores
Temptations past
I’m still to live
To breath, to love
I used to think
Motivation elusive
And yet … now
Negative is conducive
My jealously, my failings
Another’s complainings
A comment, belittling
I feel it, so crippling
And yet despite my yearning
I believe in my learning
That one or two failings
Can propel me up high
Determination afire
Heart aching desire
To reach dream’s destination
My compassion now real
And so, as such, with clarity enhanced
