She'd done enough damage already as far as she was concerned.

Taking her silence as a yes he continued, "Well... I'll make you a deal. If you promise to refrain from reporting on the club and what goes on here, for obvious reasons, I'll give you the interview you came here for. Of course I will read it before you submit it."

Lacey opened her mouth to say something, anything, but words seemed to elude her.

She couldn't believe he would even consider it after today's article.

"It'll give me a chance to defend myself, so we can consider ourselves squared."

"I... I... don't know what to say," she stammered.

There was silence between them. Minutes past before Nigel broke the silence.

"Say that you'll move in here, with me." He suggested, picking her up and setting her down on the desk, positioning himself between her legs.

"Here?" she asked in disbelief. She'd just met him. But then again what was life without a little risk? Sometimes things happen for a reason; people meet for a reason. Maybe what he had said about them meeting for a reason had some validity to it.

"We could move into your place, but if I recall it's a tad on the small side. Besides, the living room is virtually written off and I'm sure you couldn't have gotten all of the dead vampire out of that shag carpet of yours." he teased, his eyes gleaming.

Laughing she leaned forward, placing her forehead against his rock hard chest. She wrapped her arms around his waist and sighed.

"So what do you say?" he prompted. "Interested in living at Club Vampire?"

Lacey looked up into his eyes, her heart filled with warmth for this man - this vampire whom she barely knew - but knew that she couldn't live without. At last she gave the only answer that she
could
give: "I couldn t care less where I live, as long as I'm with you."

The wickedly sexy smile that she loved, adorned his face.

"Good." He took hold of the bottom of her t-shirt and pulled it up over her head. "Now that that s settled, I think we have some long overdue morning love-making to get to."

Lacey threw her head back and laughed. "So shall I consider that as a perk for moving in here?" she asked.

"Oh yeah," he replied, kissing her tenderly.

As she allowed herself to be swept up in the heat of the moment and the wonderful feel of his strong hands caressing her body, she knew that this was where she was meant to be. And Nigel was the one and only man with whom she'd ever end up spending eternity.

The End

The Everett Vampires Fact Sheet

(May contain spoilers effecting the Vampire Queen Series)

* The exact age and origin of vampires is unknown, the two oldest vampires are considered the mother and father of all vampires. The King Griffith and the Queen Louisa. There is speculation that the King and Queen were created by God as vampires originally and had never lived a human life.

* The King and Queen have not been mates for over 2000 years. Their differences in ideologies has caused a rift between both them and their aligning clans.

* The vampires sired from the Kings bloodline are considered the "Kings Clan."

Vampires from the Kings Clan are considered to be more ruthless, aggressive and rely more on instinct and feral urges then on reason and intellect. If a vampire from the Kings bloodline is provoked their eyes will turn red. When a vampire from the Kings bloodline turns a human there is a great chance the newborn will become more beast than human.

* The vampires sired from the Queens bloodline are considered to be of the "Queens Clan." Vampires born of the Queens bloodline are generally stronger, more skilled and mentally stable then those of the Kings Clan. It is speculated that the reason vampires of the Queens Clan are more in control of their feral side and are born more advanced physically, mentally and emotionally is due to the selective turning of humans by the Queen over the centuries. When a vampire of the Queens bloodline is provoked their eyes will turn white.

* When a human is turned in most cases they will obtain a special ability upon being turned. Normally the special ability will be in direct relation to their skills and abilities as a human. For instance, a human that is naturally intuitive may become clairvoyant as a vampire.

* As a vampire ages throughout the decades and centuries they will develop a resistance to the sunlight. For instance, the King and Queen are virtually immune to the sunlight's rays. However, like with human genetics a newborn vampire may develop a sunlight resistance quite quickly if they are turned by an ancient or by the King or Queen. The older the siring vampire is the stronger and more developed the newborn will be.

* While there is currently no war between the two vampire clans there is animosity between the two sides, the racial divide between the clans has been widening as the centuries pass.

* Only three things can kill a vampire. Decapitation, Stake through the heart or being drained of blood. Many younger vampires can also be killed when exposed to sunlight.
