I felt as if my soul had become a bit unhinged and set slightly off kilter hearing those words in Wade’s deep timbered tone, so serious. He was laying himself bare before me. It was something I knew I might not ever be able to do for him. At least not in the same way.

I was trapped there, in his gaze, frozen to floor by the sheer strength of Wade’s will.

“Who am I kidding here,” he finally continued. “I’d have you be mine from now until the end of time itself if I could swing it.”

I laughed, along with the people standing around us, fully aware of exactly how far Wade Walker would go to hang on to something he loved.

“So here we are,” Wade continued, “me, once again asking if you could love me? Once again asking if you would accept my love and my promise to love you for now and for always? Once again, Boone Daniels, I’m asking if you’d marry me?”

“Well...” I rolled my eyes, trying my best not to cry like a big giant baby. I shrugged, sniffing back a hint of sniffle and I nodded I would. “Since you put it like
that
.”

Wade grinned; likely happy nothing
more
sarcastic flew out from between my lips. I laughed hearing Dixie’s disgusted sigh from behind me, probably unhappy with me over my inability to be serious, if for even one minute. I leaned over to kiss Wade before helping him up onto his feet again. I took the wider of the two rings, obviously meant for his thicker fingers and took his hand. He wiggled them at me as if to say, slip that puppy on there already.

I did just that.

I then removed the other ring meant for me and held it out for him. “Shit! We weren’t supposed to do this part till the ceremony were we?”

Wade took the ring and slid it onto my finger and shrugged. “We can do it over again during the ceremony.”

Everyone began to applaud, which further embarrassed me, something Wade visibly enjoyed.

“A relationship of do-over’s?” I shook my head at him like I was disgusted by the thought.

“Don’t get huffy,” he said calmly. “We do all sorts of things over. And over. And
over
.”

He winked further punctuating his innuendo as my mother and Del came over taking our hands to look at the rings.

“They’re very beautiful, Wade,” Dixie said, wiping the tears away from her eyes. “Thank goodness I went waterproof with the mascara.”

“Your mother and father would’ve been so proud and so very happy for you.” Del placed her arm around Dixie for either comfort or camaraderie. I wasn’t sure which. “The rings are lovely.”

“I know a guy,” Wade said, pointing at the design engraved into the metal surface. “He designed the Olympic medals the first year I brought home gold. He designed these for us. It’s a sideways W connected to the letter B.”

I squinted, thinking it looked more like the letter B mirroring itself, but I kinda saw what the artist intended. “Well that’s not at all gay.”

Dixie slapped me upside the back of the head before turning and walking away. “Let’s eat, people. I’m starved after all that.”

“That’s what you get for snarking all over our love bands,” Wade said, laughing at my irritation with my mother.

“Please don’t ever refer to them as
love
bands again, dude.” I faux shivered. “Seriously, I may vomit.”

Wade laughed under his breath and gave me another peck on the lips before placing his arm around Del. He ushered her toward the buffet patting himself on the stomach. “I could eat.”

Gabe winked at me from across the room, and then glanced down as Chip grabbed a hold of his hand. They grinned at one another like teenage kids, both visibly embarrassed despite not letting go.

“He sure knows how work a venue, that one.” Jackie snarled up her lip like all the warm and fuzzies in the room had given her gas.

I realized she was referring to her brother.

“Totally,” I agreed, folding my arms and glancing down at the bling on my finger. “Selfish bastard with all his clingy
be mine
agenda.”

She grinned, nodding. “Just making sure all the lovey-dovey talk didn’t screw with your pretty little head.”

“We’re good, sista.” I was somewhat surprised by the fact I
really
liked the way it looked on my finger. “Sarcasm’s safely intact.”

“Good to know.” Jackie’s eyebrow arched as she walked away, satisfied to discover her partner in crime hadn’t been turned.

Rocky walked up, squeezing my shoulder before giving it a few appreciative pats for good measure. “I really like that one.” He nudged his head toward Wade who was accepting a congratulatory hug from Uncle Pete.

“I know you do.” I leaned into my father as he slung an arm over my shoulders.

“Even more than I would have otherwise, seeing how happy he makes you.” Rocky tugged on my neck until I began walking with him toward the buffet.

“Thanks, Dad.” I was trying not to smile even though Rocky was grinning like a proud papa which for some reason tickled me to no end.

You’d have thought my parents had gone out and pre-selected the man for me, the way they went on about Wade. Knowing my mother, at some point she’d end up telling people she’d done just that.

For my very first holiday away from New Mexico it was turning out to not feel so different after all. I’m certain much of that had to do with the fact my parents, the twins, and Gabe were all here. Gabe of course, had to leave early in the a.m. so he could drive home and spend Christmas day with his family, but he was here now.

In the end, I figured it was Wade that made me feel the most at home, which was unexpected considering it was our first holiday with one another.

Watching Wade smiling and laughing with his aunt and uncle, he’d glance my way every now and again. He was home to me, I thought. As long as we were together, everything else was gravy.

“Hmm,” I said, under my breath.
Wonders really do never cease.

CHAPTER FOUR

Christmas Eve…eve…

“Oh yeah.” I begged for more, my toes curling as every single muscle in my body went taut, racing toward the orgasm Wade’s mouth was bringing me to. “
Jesus!
Right there, baby…oh yeah…suck that…fuck-fuckity, that’s good.”

His head was bobbing up and down and my hips thrust upward keeping time with the pace Wade set. My lips were quivering for blessed release already. He kept me right on the edge, making the torture last as long as he could, despite my pleas for ever-loving release already.

My back arched up off the bed. “
Please
Wade, oh Christ…baby…anything you want.”

Wade made a deep, sexy moan as if the mere taste of me were enough to keep him satisfied. He sucked and licked, driving me toward delirium as he continued to taunt and toy with my body. He held my wrists tightly together with one of his hands to prevent me from forcing him away so I could finish myself off.

“I’ll do it, baby…anything. I swear it.”

He drew all the way up the shaft so only the head of my dick remained inside his mouth. His tongue teased until my eyes rolled back and I began to scream my release. He slowly took my dick all the way back in, drinking me in as I shot three more loads into the back of his throat. I was muttering nonsense when he finally let loose of my wrists.

I couldn’t see clearly just yet but I felt the cool air of the room on my wet cock before catching him lying back onto the bed out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head to see him staring up at the massive rough hewn beams that stretched out above.

He looked at me funny after I’d tried telling him he was a god among men, so I was fairly certain it had come out as nothing more than gibberish. He smiled in a way that told me he was already patting himself on the back.

I lay there, trying to catch my breath as every inch of my body continued to tingle from the release. Holding my hand up to check out the ring, I stared, noting the metal seemed to burn my skin. Nothing bad, quite the contrary it was more like a warm, comforting kind of burn.

Wade was watching me stare at it, but I could sense he was curious more than he was worried I might be freaking out. He reached over, running his hand over my sweaty chest, still wet and warm. My skin reacted the same way to his touch that it did the ring he’d slipped onto my finger earlier that afternoon.

“You’re all kinds of romantical when you put your mind to it,” I said.

He laughed, smacking my playfully. “You could try not sounding so surprised.”

I turned to face him. “Oh no, I didn’t mean it like that at all. I’ve long since known you were the girly one.”

I laughed watching the amusement drain from his face.

He took his hand away, apparently having decided my smart ass didn’t deserve any further contact. “You think you’re pretty cute, don’t ya?”

“You do too,” I reminded him.

He nodded, rolling his eyes. “I do, much to my own detriment, I fear.”

“That’s not fair, baby.” I rolled onto my side and slowly ran my hand over his stomach, which was still slightly swollen from all the food he’d eaten earlier that afternoon. “I can be romantic. I’ll have you know I got you a ring for Christmas too.”

His eye brows arched as if he were truly shocked. Wade propped himself up on his elbows staring at me in disbelief.

“I swear it!” I said, thumbing toward the staircase. “It’s under the tree right now.”

His eyes were getting all squinty, suspecting I was working some angle.

I ran my hands between his legs, palming his dick and balls. “It’s a sterling silver cock ring, mind you, but still.”

Wade laughed, laying back down and staring up at the ceiling. “I’ll wear it with pride, my love.”

I smiled, feeling his shaft beginning to swell in reaction to my continued attention. “That’ll certainly keep a smile on my face.”

He groaned, his legs spreading open a little more, providing me better access to his goods. “I should certainly hope it would.”

“My goodness, Mr. Walker! Exactly what is going on down here?” I asked, crawling on top of him and planting a big sloppy kiss on his lips.

Our tongues intertwined, the taste of him turning me on, lighting me up from the inside out. His cock continued to rapidly thicken as his hands made their way to my ass.

I pulled away, smiling down at him, my evident horniness bringing a deliciously sexy smirk to his face.

“Looks like they found their way home,” Wade said, referring to his hands which were now roughly squeezing my ass and eliciting a moan of approval out of me.

“Halle-fuckin-lu-yah,” I said, biting down on my lip as I ground my still semi-hard cock into his. “A Merry Christmas to all.”

Wade rolled me over onto my back, his body pressing into mine as his lips moved softly over my ear. “And to all, a fucking good night.”
